Was in the mood for some GOOD Mexican food and heard really good things about this place so decided to give it a try. While the service was great, the food was TERRIBLE. I mean seriously, it was SO bad. We ordered the nachos appetizer ($6) and it was very obviously microwaved. The cheese was burned to the plate and the chips were piping hot, while the sour cream and salsa on top were ice cold. We then ordered carne asada tacos ($10.95) and carnitas tacos (10.95) and oh my god - they were so bad. I took one bite and couldn't finish them. They truly tasted like something from Taco Bell that you would order at midnight. The carnitas did not taste like pork and they were covered in cheese - two things that should not go together. After taking one bite and deciding we were done, we were greeted with a $44 bill before we decided to go somewhere else for dinner. It was so incredibly disappointing and I will absolutely not be eating here again. read more

It is not often I come upon a new take on a Mexican food dish that I like. however this place had one that I really did like. It was called mini rellenos. As the name suggest they were mini chili rellenos sorta. In lieu of the traditional large hatch or Anaheim chili, they used the small party platter style peppers. They were stuffed with cheese, battered and fried, however the sauce was a creamy (insert Mexican word) sauce. The overall sweetness of the peppers contrasted by the savory heat in the sauce was very good. There was even enough sauce for it to spice up my rice. As an appetizer we ordered some sweet potato fries. Don't ask me how that is Mexican. To my surprise they were crispy, many times sweet potato fries are soggy but these were great, see the photo. the included chips and salsa were good woo with the chips being large and sturdy. I went in expecting just a local place near my friends house and walked out one dish richer in my life, and maybe a few pounds heavier. read more

Diane has done a great job at bringing mexican food with a southwest sonoran twist to the continental ranch area. Just a block down the street from lil abners steakhouse her establishment is nestled in an unassuming strip mall. Dinners range from 8 - 15 bucks and the food is superb. Wow! The food here is amazing! What neat takes on Mexican food! Shrimp empanadas, pork shnitzel Chipotle, manchego bacon wrapped shrimp! And their salsa is GOOD and chips are fresh and light! Oh my! Considering how busy it was, the service was pretty good too. I can't wait to return! So, why only 4 stars? Well, the dining room is small, and the waiting room is outside, in the sun, facing west, in the evening, even when it is 105°. I know they can't change most of that, but I hope their business continues to do well enough to expand to another, better location. It's too hot to wait outside for in the Tucson summer! read more

We are new to the Tucson area and wanted to try a Sonoran Dog. I checked on Yelp and this restaurant came up. I was surprised they served them at a Mexican restaurant, so called to see if they were open. Due to the coronavirus, they were doing take out orders only. We ordered two Sonoran Dogs and they were very good. Actually delicious. During this terrible time, it was nice to find a place to support. We have been here a lot of times for their Mexican menu. I figured I would give this place a try since it's right down the road. The food is very overpriced for what you get. We had to order takeout due to the restaurant being closed from Covid and all of the food was just tossed into a large plate and everything was covered in refried beans by the time I opened it at home. The beef taco that I got looks like they just made a hamburger and ripped it in half and tossed it in the taco shell. Honestly ate probably a third of my meal. read more

Very disappointing meal. Taco salad w carnitos was runny and with no flavor. Chilies in relleno were not roasted and rather tasteless. Just a really off meal. This was an odd, yet delightful little restaurant. I LOVED that the veggie tacos were not saturated in oil, as thats how most Mexican restaurants treat their vegetarian dishes. You couldn't get everything without cheese but when a place utilizes cabbage as opposed to dumpster lettuce, I can look the other way on a little queso. Nothing was too salty, and I wasn't uncomfortable or sluggish after the meal. I didnt get to try their bar drinks- it was a Tuesday and I was attempting to look respectable in front of our visiting house guest, but given that the Cadillac Marg was $15, I bet its amazing. Stopped here by chance as I was looking for something to eat that wasn't fast food. Was expecting decent food but it was actually pretty damn good. Can't even recall what I ordered because I just spun the roulette wheel of chance and ordered 2 meals and both were excellent. This place seems to be a Mexican food mecca for the elderly population of Marana. The food was fairly bland overall and the calabacitas were kind of slimy, which was disappointing. We brought family from Colorado here and even they thought it was pretty poor quality with how bland it was. Decent portion sizes at least. read more

I only ate half of the quesadilla and the fried rice. My uncle got the beef tacos and said that it was the worst beef he had ever had... I really wanted to LOVE this restaurant. It is conveniently located in Continental Ranch. We love mexican food. I mean, 9 out of 10 times we eat out, we choose mexican. And over the course of the last year, we've patronized this restaurant at least a half dozen times. But each time, it falls a little short of being what we hope it would be. It is always clean. My favorite item they serve is the calabacitas. When I ask for extra calabacitas instead of rice on the combo, there's been an extra charge added to my meal. The fried taco is nice. The carne asada lacks flavor. The enchiladas don't stand out either. Don't get me started on the chips and salsa! (Tiny bowls and extra charge for refills.) The flan is tasty. The shrimp wrapped in bacon is one of the most flavorful items I've eaten there. Overall, the dishes don't have the seasonings we prefer. I wish I could say the margaritas make up for it, but the "gold" at $10 and "Cadillac" at $15 just aren't worth it. Don't get me wrong, this place is not horrible by any means and I'm sure we'll eat there again in the hopes that we'll find the entree that makes us change our mind. read more

The attendant at the door stated it would be a long wait and encouraged us to go elsewhere for dinner. We decided to stay anyways. Salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce. We were greeted by a charming mask wearing waitress and received a menu. Food smells great but different worker gave us salsa, chips and drinks wearing no mask! Looking up I observed the only employee wearing a mask was our waitress, cook etc all breathing directly on our food and my 93 year old mother. Had a late lunch in this quiet restaurant. Server was courteous and friendly, taking my order quickly and refilling my ice tea as often as I emptied it. The chilli relleno is tasty although not the best ever as it was over breaded and filling consisted only of cheese. The beef enchiladas was very good, cheesy and flavorful.
