    Taco Salad and Margarita

My sister and I enjoyed lunch at La Olla We each had a taco salad made with beans, cheese, lettuce, avocado, tomatoes in a crisp tortilla bowl with sour cream. It was delicious and the perfect size. They gave us complimentary chips and salsa. The atmosphere wasvery Mexican with colorful banners and sombreros and music. Waiter was very attentive and got whatever we needed. Plenty of room for any size gathering. Parking right outside front door door. I will definitely return.

We decided to have dinner tonight at La Olla for Small Business Saturday. As always, we were not disappointed with our service, the ambiance, or the food. I hope they keep the La Dip on the menu as a regular item. It was an explosion of deliciousness that danced across our palates, and was a special today. I opted for another special, the Shrimp bowl, which was recommended by our server and was delighted with the sweet, spicy, and combination of flavors. My husband had his usual, tge Rojo Chimichanga....he was not disappointed by the flavor and the generous portion.

Picked up takeout mid afternoon on a Saturday. Quick process to place an order and it was ready and waiting when I got there! Friendly staff and tasty chimichanga special

This restaurant is fantastic. We came on a Friday night around 7 and they were able to immediately seat our family of four. The kids menu has great choices which is a plus. Everything we ordered was delicious. My 12 year old took one bite of his meal and said, "wow, we're definitely going to be coming here again!" The calabacitas were my favorite I've tried. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Marana.

First time trying this restaurant while visiting family in Arizona. I'll say first a small critique, that my carnitas dinner was different - not what I typically receive at Mexican restaurants. That said, it was still very good and I enjoyed trying the new accompaniments. The moderate portion of finely chopped shredded pork had peppers & onions in it, and maybe more seasoning than I expected to taste. It was good. Not the typical large chunks with oil & fat that other restaurants serve as carnitas; this was probably much healthier version! The calabacitas side was very good - I'd never had that anywhere else before. It's a zucchini & corn ... maybe other veggies in sauce or creamed corn? The "tamale pie" was a wedge shaped piece of very moist cornbread with some green chilis & corn in it, topped with cheese. Think "scalloped corn casserole" and you might understand the flavor better. It was delicious. The grilled pepper & scallion garnish - pepper was tender & spicy-hot! And scallion not grilled enough to bite so was tough to try to eat it. I kind of gnawed on it and set it aside. I did enjoy the large hand stretched flour tortilla. In other restaurants I request corn tortillas but this was unique and I enjoyed it. I tore pieces off to wrap pork into it. My husband had the carne asada burro (burrito) it was huge and stuffed with meat. 3 Other guests had: chicken bowl (?) , a huge chicken filled chimichanga, fried tacos with beef. Salsa was delicious!!! Chips were a bit thick so very filling to eat too many of them. Guacamole was good but a bit bland - needed at least salt & lime! I would eat here again with no problem. I rather enjoyed the new experiences with my carnitas dinner. Also of note - the chimichanga was not crispy because of the enchilada sauce on top. That might make a difference to some diners.

My hubs suggested that we go to The Frida and see if we could get in. We drive over and guess what, we go lucky, must have been that everyone had a 4th of July hangover. We sat at the bar and couldn't be happier. Our server/bartender took great care of us, he offered us drinks, took our food order and made my hubby a really good Margarita, The Frida Margarita, he said it was bomb! I ordered a beer and it came with a chilled glass and lime wedge. We decided on the flautas and the mole enchiladas. Both fantastic, tasty and hearty! I got full with two enchiladas so I donated the third to my hubby, which he was super happy to eat. I have to say, the mole sauce was decadent and full of flavors. It really reminded me of my grandmas mole. It also left a delicious numbing (very slight) on my lips. Perfect balance of nutty, spicy, almost semi sweet goodness. Gorgeously prepared and looked almost too good to eat. Almost..... The place was full, we were still able to have a conversation. It was amazing. Will definitely be back to continue to enjoy the carefully curated menu. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed! This screams a great place to work and obviously enjoy. Well done La Frida! Well done!

Which, you know, is kind of the whole point of a restaurant. The atmosphere was great, a little on the nose, but great none the less. It feels like a Mexican dinner or at least what I imagined a dinner in Mexico would look like. The staff where beyond amazing, especially the woman who made our complementary salsa right at the table. And the salsa was yummy but sadly that's the only part of the meal that I can say that about. The thing is, nothing was truly bad, but just about everything was incredibly bland. You'd have expected someone who puts raisins in potato salad to have served it, not an authentic Mexican restaurant. Though the positive is the lack of seasoning is really the only major problem. The food did not have any weird taste, it wasn't dry, the presentation was fine. It simply needs to be seasoned and this place goes to a solid 4/5 rather than a three.

Located in downtown Tucson, this iconic restaurant is full of character and beautifully decorated. We visited on a Saturday around 1 PM without a reservation and were told there would be a wait since the place was packed. They only have air conditioning in the indoor dining areas and basement, not on the outdoor patio. Luckily, we were seated in the basement, which turned out to be perfect. The service was commendable truly some of the sweetest and most attentive service we've experienced in a long time. We started with freshly made chips and salsa, which were an instant hit. For drinks, we ordered the El Tamarindo, Mangopeno, and Monica's Cafetini. For food, we chose the Vegan Jackfruit Taquitos Trio and the Fresh Corn Tamale Platter, which came with a side of squash. The drinks were excellent, with the Mangopeno being my favorite. But the real star of the meal was the tamale platter. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious! Everyone at the table kept digging in and couldn't get enough. Even the squash side was so flavorful that we ordered an extra serving. The vegan jackfruit taquitos were a bit too deep-fried for our liking and didn't quite compare to the incredible tamales. To finish, we shared a caramel flan, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The pricing was very reasonable, the service was exceptional, and the food was memorable. We will definitely be back again if only for those amazing tamales!

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
