THE TEQUILA ALMOND CROISSANT AKA THE BEST ALMOND CROISSANT YOU WILL EVER TRY
    Ianka S.

La Panadería is an absolute must if you're in the San Antonio area! We ordered the ham, cheese, and scrambled egg croissant, the sunny-side-up breakfast, the Nutella cruffin, and a concha--and every single thing was incredible. I'm still thinking about that breakfast! Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The pastries were perfectly baked, and it's easy to see why this place is so popular. I already can't wait to go back, especially to try the tequila almond croissant. If you're looking for a truly delicious breakfast or bakery experience, don't miss this place! UPDATE I went back the next morning and got myself the almond croissant - best decision I've ever made

I have driven by La Panadería in downtown and at this spot so many times, I finally got to experience the goodness at a recent special outing with my son. Casual eatery- order at counter and pay..food will be delivered to your table. But, what did I encounter upon entering? omg their beautiful pastries, desserts, and Mexican conchas. Picked up a guava pastry for later. Ordered the Mexican Cubano torta without cheese and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I chose the birote bread- sourdough crispness on the outside with soft inside texture. This torta packed a ton o' flavor! Ham, bacon, kielbasa sausage, pickles, and bread slathered in their chipotle mustard and cilantro mayo. Delicious! I chose the house salad, rather than soup. Tummy was more than happy. For dessert, I ate the guava pastry in the evening- buttery pastry with a sweet guava jelly filling. Yum! Happy to return in the future to try other menu items : ) Lovely interior decor, indoor and outdoor seating , clean establishment.

Amazing cafe!! I stopped by for breakfast and tried the chorizo and egg torta. It was so good, it wasn't too heavy, and the bread had a great texture. I also tried a few pastries, including a concha, cinnamon roll, and a chocolate dipped oreja. They were all so good, but I loved their concha the most! Workers were so kind and patient, and I love the community feel of the cafe.

The is place is AMAZING!!! If I could give it 10 stars I would! I ate here both mornings of my business trip. The pastries and bread are all freshly baked. The Mexican tortas are the real deal! And they give you a side with them like soup, salad, or rice! Everyone is so friendly. Service is quick. Place is hopping! The fist day I was with 3 others and we split the tequila almond croissant. Killer! Ruined me forever for almond croissants. So much almond and flavor. Flaky- flaky-flaky!!! Get this! The torta was delicious too. Cut in half. I could only eat half after the delicious vegetarian lentil soup and trying the croissant and other pastry. The next day I got the torta with chorizo. Equally delicious. Also got a blueberry bear claw- amazing. I tried the orang blossom pastry/bread too. They also have juices. I got the beet the first day. Perfetto! Will definitely return here.

An order then find your seat type of dining. Tres leches matcha was a 200000/10. The fideo was lacking flavor. The cubano was delicious but a bit messy. I had ordered an egg over medium but it came over easy. Very good nevertheless. My mother enjoyed her waffle croissant. Their bakery items looked delicious and were displayed in the front. We did not try this time but will be back to try. Alfonso went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met and had a great experience. We also saw he was the only employee on the dining room floor cleaning and bussing tables. Thank you Alfonso.

It was a Saturday morning and super busy, but the service was okay. The sweet bread is good. I ordered a torta de pastor with pan telera. The meat didn't taste bad, but it honestly didn't taste like traditional pastor. The place is spacious, with tolerable music -- nothing too loud, so you can still have a conversation. However, a high-top table for three is pretty small. Those tables should really be limited to two people max, especially when food is involved.

This was my third time visiting from California. I come here every time I visit my son in San Antonio. It's our favorite cafe and I love trying all the different pastries. The line is worth it, it's busy for a reason. We ordered our bakery items first and then our meals at the register. I came for my birthday this year so it was an extra special visit to be there with my family. We were provided a table and high chair for my granddaughter. The attention to detail and high quality service is noticed. The food is always on point. The monkey bread we got was a little over baked but still tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meal and visit.

If there is ome place you go while you are in town, come here! Best concha I've ever had! The velvet with Nutella and Ferrero Roche filling was delicious! The almond tequila croissant, fantastic. But the ranchero avocado toast phenomenal! The bread was perfect and the TexMex flavors with this avocado toast make a Texas girl very happy. I also recommend the chai with vanilla and for a little extra TexMex vibe add tres leches foam. Service is friendly and the ambience is lovely. Definitely a must for brunch!

Thank you to "Chino" at the bar area. You were amazing, incredible service. We know where to seat next time we come. As usual the food was delish and the black bean soup.. yummm

We had breakfast with some friends and once again we weren't dissaapointed. They have a huge selection of pastries and sweets. We had the ham, egg and cheese torta. The ham and cheese croissant and El favorito. All of our choices were excellent. We had plenty of food and we were full when we left. They also have very good coffee and lattes. I recommend trying it out

La Panadería - A San Antonio Signature Experience La Panadería has been one of our favorite spots in San Antonio for years, and for good reason. It's more than just a bakery--it's an experience that has become a signature stop for anyone visiting the city. The pastries are second to none, setting the standard for freshness, creativity, and flavor. From their legendary croissants and conchas to seasonal specialties, every bite is consistently perfect. Their coffee bar is excellent, pairing beautifully with a leisurely morning pastry or a mid-day pick-me-up. What really makes La Panadería stand out is its versatility. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, it's a welcoming spot for the whole family. The menu is creative yet approachable, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Simply put, La Panadería is a must-visit in San Antonio. Whether you're a local regular or just passing through near Six Flags, you'll find yourself wanting to come back again and again. They are opening their Fifth location near Stone Oak soon!

Got there right before the line was out the door. I can see why this place is so popular! Inside is a little small but cozy. Does make you feel like you're in a cafe more than a sit down restaurant. This place you'll place your order before finding a seat. Not only do they have lots of fresh baked goods, but they have great breakfast, brunch, lunch options. Hubby and I both had the Mexican hot chocolate, all I can say about this is that it was delicious! I could've done with less whipped cream but that's me. Hubby had the tequila French toast. He loved it, but by the end he was in a sugar coma. I had the lobster eggs Benedict. Eggs were poached nice, but I prefer mine a bit more runny. Also the eggs were kinda small. The salsa and hollandaise were great compliments to the lobster. Sauces were salty and spicy and paired great with the sweet lobster. They didn't skimp on the lobster either! Both hubby and I agreed that the portion sizes are big, and we could've shared one of these and been pleasantly full. Not a big fan of how you order the food because it doesn't take a while especially if someone is just ordering pastries. Maybe they could have a to go/bakery only line then a sit down line?! Not sure but I think they could prefect the system. Cannot wait to go back and have something new!

There are plenty of tables to work or study at, including some shaded seating outside. I originally ordered the Saltburn Matcha, but it was a little too sweet for my liking. I asked if they could remake it into just an agave matcha with oat milk, and they did without hesitation. Everyone was super sweet and accommodating about it. My boyfriend ordered the Butterbeer Shaken Espresso and it was sooo good! Overall, the service was a 10/10, even with my drink remake. I'd definitely come back here again to study or just hang out for a bit!

Reason why I'm giving this place a two star and not higher is because when we ordered our…read moresandwiches and I noticed the white part of the egg was a little runny and not fully cooked, I took it back to the front to request it be remade, the manager and cook ensured me it was. Despite me SHOWING them where the egg was NOT FULLY COOKED THROUGH. I cook eggs for myself everyday. And being pregnant the egg must fully be cooked through. They were telling me it's bc of the cheese melted on top. Which has nothing to do with the egg. You could see the clear distinction between the cheese and egg. I wish I had taken a photo to share. They would not take it back to be remade. So I just said forget it and we ate them anyway. Since I'm in my third trimester I figured I should be fine. However a great manager would have made sure they were remade. I use to work in the restaurant biz and the customer is always right. And I was showing them their error and they were working to convince me it was cooked all the way, again when you could clearly see it wasn't. Also my hubs strawberry lemonade was not even filled up all the way in the cup. I would expect if we are paying for something that doesn't have a refill, at least fill it up all the way. Oh and my BIGGEST disappointment is that there is NO BURRITO!! We actually came here for that specifically, only to find out that it has not been on the menu for over a year, yet that is the one review and promotion that pops up when you look at this establishment. So it's false advertising and should be taken down since they no longer make the burrito. Also if you're coming here to work, it's super small and cramped. I did see a ton of people sitting with laptops and having meetings. However I wouldn't come to this place to work, unless it's the only option in your area. Overall, next time I'm in town, we won't coming back here, primarily bc it's close to the Eilan hotel we stayed at and we definitely won't be staying there again. Already wrote my review about that place, and I don't recommend it.
