We had great experience at our last visit for a wine pairing dinner, but today for Mother's Day brunch it was a bust. Clearly, the restaurant was stretched way too thin with too many reservations. We arrived on time for a 12 o'clock reservation, but were not seated until 1215. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were offered a high top bar table which we rejected along with three of the next customers that came in with reservations. A high top table is not the optimal Mother's Day brunch seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our cocktails were very good, and we are very happy to see Mark as the new lead for their drink service Our waiter was a bit inexperienced. He was very friendly and took our order right away. The prize fix menu included an appetizer, and entrée and dessert. We ordered everything right away, but asked that it would be coursed with proper timing. Unfortunately, we had barely started our appetizer when our main dishes arrived. We ordered a bottle of wine since the wine menu by the glass is less than optimal. By the bottle is a slightly better selection. Unfortunately, our waiter broke the cork in the bottle, yet still served it to us. We dug the cork out and asked for a new bottle to be opened. The Management and bar were very friendly and apologetic for this mistake. Our food was not quite what we had hoped for. My wife's short ribs Benedict had overcooked eggs. My Chilaquiles were soggy and not very tasty. Dessert, strawberry shortcake quite dry We watched the wait staff scramble, bring food to the wrong tables, clearly overwhelmed by the large number of guests on this occasion. We have great hopes for this restaurant. However, for a large occasion such as today ñ, limiting the number of reservations and maximizing customer service, food, quality, and attention to guests would be optimal and we hope they take that suggestion.

The service here was outstanding! Every waitstaff person was phenomenal. We had the short rib tacos that were flavorful but chopped up so fine it resembled brisket and we would have preferred small chunks. The crab cakes did not have a lot of filler and were okay. Espresso was delicious and the warm hand towels was such a nice touch. We will be back to try other menu items.

This place amazed me because I didn't expect it to be so good. Everything looks fancy, and the food was great. The coffee was presented nicely and served right to my table. When I first walked in, they gave me a warm towel, and the employees were so nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus, the ambiance makes you feel like you're in a five-star restaurant in Vegas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place is easily a five-star spot.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Mae Dunne is a very nice brunch spot in the Leon Springs/Dominion area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I often forget about this place because it's hidden in the Dominion springs plaza next to the Gent's Place and a realty office. [[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]We last visited on Christmas eve afternoon. It[[HIGHLIGHT]] was very quiet as expected, but still a very enjoyable dining experience. I[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] started off with a espresso martini and my husband ordered a carajillo which was made table side! That extra added service was unexpected, but very much appreciated! Our drinks were made very well and our food did not disappoint either. On the menu you will find typical American fare, but also some reimagined Tex-Mex favorites. Mae Dunne is a quaint, classy brunch spot, but with a reasonable price tag. Definitely recommend if you're wanting to find a brunch spot in the area!

Chris our server was very attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This upscale restaurant has a good ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was good. The chilaquiles were enough to take home for leftovers. The avocado toast was a single slice of bread dish. The eggs Benedict could have used a bit more hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were a bit dark. Again food was good.

Wifey and I have been here twice, once for an awesome breakfast and another time for a wine pairing dinner. Both were excellent. Service is top-notch. The menu has a wide variety of options for breakfast. The staff are super friendly and service is efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Apparently, it is under new ownership, but the ambience has not changed. It is a little bit Grandma/cottage in appearance and could use an update.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looking forward to going back soon.

Let's start with the parking. Perfect lot for plenty of parking spots. Reservations were needed so I'm glad I had those taken care of. The hostesses greeted upon walking in. We came for Easter and it was packed, but we were prepared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is cozy and cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had the heaters on outside so it provided a nice space to look at from inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Jason took good care of us. My only issue was when I was originally asked "sparkling or flat", I replied "flat" and was brought out water that I was charged for. Flat always means regular ol water. I made sure to say "tap water for the refill". My husband had crab cakes for an app and loved them. I did the short rib Benedict and the short rib was so tender and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. My son had the chicken sandwich and ate every bite. My cousin had the crab cake Benedict and enjoyed his as well. Delicious! Fast and friendly service. We will be back!

My friend and I were looking for a Mediterranean restaurant that use to be here and it was gone so went to Mae Dunne. They bring complimentary breakfast bread. Looked great, however taste was not there and was kind of dry. Limited but good menu.

I randomly stopped in for a late lunch and glad I did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is upperscale but comfortable & relaxing at the same time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They habe an excellent menu with pairing recommendations. The food was amazing & delicious. A special "thank you" to Jason who provided exceptional service and wine knowledge. I look forward to going back!

Came for brunch and had a good experience. I ordered a chai latte, buttermilk pancakes with chocolate chips and the eggs Benedict. The chai latte was one of the best chais I've ever had. The Benedict was alittle too salty but the potato's were delicious. The pancakes were perfect! Our server went above and beyond to make our group of 13 feel welcomed and comfortable. Everyone's food came out within 20 minutes which was great! I would definitely recommend this place and come back here whenever I'm in town.

Food was really good! But maybe i'm biased bc i love brunch food. I got the eggs benedict and subbed the potatoes for parmesan truffle fries. The truffle sauce for the fries was super good. They also gave us a pecan bread appetizer that was really good, although it was sweet so it felt like a dessert to me.

I'm sure this place is very busy on the weekends. I enjoyed the chilequiles (order without any toppings if you're just looking for something light) which allowed me to order tres leches for dessert. The decor is homey yet minimalist and you get some family recipe cake as a free welcome when you sit down.

    Breakfast tacos with coffee.

The food was good, but it took a while for the food to come out. We asked for an order to take home for our son at the beginning of our visit and it was never put in time , so we had to leave without our food for our son. We went in again today for our last meal before heading out of San Antonio. We ordered the crab cake benedict and the breakfast tacos. The crabcakes were super salty. The service was great and our server was Diego.

I added black pepper and it helped. My chai latte with oatmilk and a little caramel topped the meal off. Oh, and I ordered some beignets to-go. I remember those being good. I got 3 classics and 1 stuffed with peaches and cream. The music was a mixture between jazz, r&b, and a little funk. It added a nice touch on this rainy morning, especially jamming to James Brown. The hotness was friendly and looked like she was ready for her day. And Sara, our waitress, had a nice disposition early in the morning. She was pleasant, friendly, and efficient.

Those who came early sat at the bar and ordered coffee and if you signed up for text messages you get 15% off which was nice. I got the NOLA brunch plate and tried the mixed beignets. The NOLA plate was good, but super duper heavy. The praline bacon is tasty and nicely sweet, the eggs with seasoning was probably my favorite part. The grits were good just super filling. The fried green tomato was also yummy just a bit salty. Overall 7.5/10 The mixed beignets came with four, a lemon one, chocolate, plain and flavor of the month which was a strawberry jam with sprinkles. Strawberry jam was terrible, a sin to beignets. It's just too sweet and oozes out (2/10). Lemon was okay just a bit too tart (5/10). Chocolate was surprisingly good; it tasted like warm mexican hot chocolate (7/10) Plain will always be my favorite though (8.5/10) even if this one is a bit doughy! Service was good especially for our large party! The interior is gorgeous with great natural lighting.

A Perfect Return to Where Our Forever Began My husband and I…read moregot married at Hotel Valencia one year ago, so getting to return this weekend to celebrate our first wedding anniversary was incredibly special. As part of our wedding package, they were incredibly generous and included two complimentary nights at the hotel and dinner at Dorrego's for us to celebrate. They are truly the absolute best at what they do and really know how to celebrate their guests! Returning to the very place where we said "I do" was already emotional enough, but Hotel Valencia somehow made the experience even more memorable than our first stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff was exactly as we remembered them: kind, attentive, professional, thoughtful, and genuinely wonderful. Our room was absolutely gorgeous, and when we walked in on our first day, we found the sweetest surprise waiting for us: a bottle of champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a congratulations message written in chocolate on the plate. I actually teared up a little! It was such a thoughtful and adorable gesture that truly made us feel seen, celebrated, and cared for. There is something so special about Hotel Valencia. The environment is exceptional, the service is always outstanding, and even their gorgeous signature scent instantly brings us back to memories of love, celebration, and adventure. Every little detail feels intentional and memorable. I am so incredibly thankful that we chose Hotel Valencia as the place to celebrate both our wedding and our first anniversary. It will forever hold such a special place in our hearts, and we cannot wait to return again and make even more memories there. Thank you, Hotel Valencia, for helping make two of the most meaningful celebrations of our lives absolutely unforgettable!

A Wonderful Stay at Hotel Valencia!…read more We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Valencia on the San Antonio River Walk! The location is perfect step out the front door and you're right in downtown San Antonio. From the hotel restaurant, you can take the stairs or elevator directly down to the River Walk, which makes getting around so easy and convenient. What we especially loved is that this hotel has so much character and charm. It doesn't feel like one of those cookie-cutter chain hotels. We had a balcony, although it was simply too hot during our visit to sit outside and enjoy it. I'm sure it would be wonderful on a cooler evening! The bar and restaurant were both excellent, and the entire staff was friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to the valet guys they provided wonderful service and were always so helpful. Great location, beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, and exceptional service. We would definitely stay here again when we're back in San Antonio!
