    Table side carajillo!
    Erica M.

Mae Dunne is a very nice brunch spot in the Leon Springs/Dominion area. I often forget about this place because it's hidden in the Dominion springs plaza next to the Gent's Place and a realty office. We last visited on Christmas eve afternoon. It was very quiet as expected, but still a very enjoyable dining experience. I started off with a espresso martini and my husband ordered a carajillo which was made table side! That extra added service was unexpected, but very much appreciated! Our drinks were made very well and our food did not disappoint either. On the menu you will find typical American fare, but also some reimagined Tex-Mex favorites. Mae Dunne is a quaint, classy brunch spot, but with a reasonable price tag. Definitely recommend if you're wanting to find a brunch spot in the area!

Chris our server was very attentive. This upscale restaurant has a good ambience. Food was good. The chilaquiles were enough to take home for leftovers. The avocado toast was a single slice of bread dish. The eggs Benedict could have used a bit more hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were a bit dark. Again food was good.

Let's start with the parking. Perfect lot for plenty of parking spots. Reservations were needed so I'm glad I had those taken care of. The hostesses greeted upon walking in. We came for Easter and it was packed, but we were prepared. The place is cozy and cute. They had the heaters on outside so it provided a nice space to look at from inside. Jason took good care of us. My only issue was when I was originally asked "sparkling or flat", I replied "flat" and was brought out water that I was charged for. Flat always means regular ol water. I made sure to say "tap water for the refill". My husband had crab cakes for an app and loved them. I did the short rib Benedict and the short rib was so tender and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. My son had the chicken sandwich and ate every bite. My cousin had the crab cake Benedict and enjoyed his as well. Delicious! Fast and friendly service. We will be back!

Wifey and I have been here twice, once for an awesome breakfast and another time for a wine pairing dinner. Both were excellent. Service is top-notch. The menu has a wide variety of options for breakfast. The staff are super friendly and service is efficient. Apparently, it is under new ownership, but the ambience has not changed. It is a little bit Grandma/cottage in appearance and could use an update. Looking forward to going back soon.

My friend and I were looking for a Mediterranean restaurant that use to be here and it was gone so went to Mae Dunne. They bring complimentary breakfast bread. Looked great, however taste was not there and was kind of dry. Limited but good menu.

I randomly stopped in for a late lunch and glad I did. The ambiance is upperscale but comfortable & relaxing at the same time. They habe an excellent menu with pairing recommendations. The food was amazing & delicious. A special "thank you" to Jason who provided exceptional service and wine knowledge. I look forward to going back!

Came for brunch and had a good experience. I ordered a chai latte, buttermilk pancakes with chocolate chips and the eggs Benedict. The chai latte was one of the best chais I've ever had. The Benedict was alittle too salty but the potato's were delicious. The pancakes were perfect! Our server went above and beyond to make our group of 13 feel welcomed and comfortable. Everyone's food came out within 20 minutes which was great! I would definitely recommend this place and come back here whenever I'm in town.

Food was really good! But maybe i'm biased bc i love brunch food. I got the eggs benedict and subbed the potatoes for parmesan truffle fries. The truffle sauce for the fries was super good. They also gave us a pecan bread appetizer that was really good, although it was sweet so it felt like a dessert to me.

I'm sure this place is very busy on the weekends. I enjoyed the chilequiles (order without any toppings if you're just looking for something light) which allowed me to order tres leches for dessert. The decor is homey yet minimalist and you get some family recipe cake as a free welcome when you sit down.

The food was good, but it took a while for the food to come out. We asked for an order to take home for our son at the beginning of our visit and it was never put in time , so we had to leave without our food for our son. We went in again today for our last meal before heading out of San Antonio. We ordered the crab cake benedict and the breakfast tacos. The crabcakes were super salty. The service was great and our server was Diego.

Enjoyed brunch with friends here over the weekend. I had the Turkish toast with scrambled eggs and it was good. The plate did look a little sad so we add my friends bacon for the pic, they are not included with the toast. The place is super cute and while the service was good it was slow. We waited a while for everything from the coffee, food, up until we had to pay. It took a while for us to finally catch the servers attention to ask for the check. Other than that everything was good. I'd probably go back but I'd make sure it's a morning we don't have plans after.

    Lavender Limonada & Mimosa
    John M.

ATMOSPHERE: A very nice, classy looking restaurant with mixed cuisine at a great location a bit outside of the city. Spacious, open seating with plenty of natural light. DRINKS: I had a lavender limonada (lemonade) with sparkling water than was super refreshing and went surprisingly well with my meal. My fiancé got a mimosa that she liked. FOOD: I had the machacado tacos which were fantastic. A pretty good portion with the beans, but I added the Parmesan truffle fries because they sounded good, and I was hungry. My only complaint was that the fries weren't really coated in the Parmesan truffle flavor. Rather, it was some cheese and garnish sprinkled on top, which didn't affect 80% of the fries. Tacos were awesome though, and they came with a few delicious sauces/salsas. My fiancé said her peanut butter toast was soft and spongey, as opposed to some toasts that are on the heavier side, which was perfect for a light brunch. SERVICE: No complaints at all, had a nice server, and the food came out very timely Overall we loved it and would go back again!

In the lobby for checkin today, I had an instant headache because the fragrance was so strong. We continued upstairs, and I could hardly breathe in the elevator it was so scented. When we got to the room it was also heavily fragranced. I tried to call the front desk, and the phone in the room didn't work reliably. Our call dropped several times. They offered box fans for us to air out the room. However, when we opened the windows, a blast of cigarette smoke wafted into the room because it is directly above their designated smoking area. We asked the front desk for help, and they said not to worry, hardly anyone smokes in that area. Meanwhile we watched several people out there smoking almost constantly. They offered no other accommodation or help. Not worth it. Very uncomfortable and upset because this will ruin our vacation. Edit: 1 to 3 stars.
