Came here to celebrate one of our mom friend's 40th birthday and was blown away with how great the service and food was here! Everything we had was amazing and flavorful! From the deviled eggs with smoked salmon, empanadas, chicken mole plate with rice to the drink mixing for our El Carajillos right in front of your table. I thought everything was perfect!! We had great experience at our last visit for a wine pairing dinner, but today for Mother's Day brunch it was a bust. Clearly, the restaurant was stretched way too thin with too many reservations. We arrived on time for a 12 o'clock reservation, but were not seated until 1215. We were offered a high top bar table which we rejected along with three of the next customers that came in with reservations. A high top table is not the optimal Mother's Day brunch seating. Our cocktails were very good, and we are very happy to see Mark as the new lead for their drink service Our waiter was a bit inexperienced. He was very friendly and took our order right away. The prize fix menu included an appetizer, and entrée and dessert. We ordered everything right away, but asked that it would be coursed with proper timing. Unfortunately, we had barely started our appetizer when our main dishes arrived. We ordered a bottle of wine since the wine menu by the glass is less than optimal. By the bottle is a slightly better selection. Unfortunately, our waiter broke the cork in the bottle, yet still served it to us. We dug the cork out and asked for a new bottle to be opened. The Management and bar were very friendly and apologetic for this mistake. Our food was not quite what we had hoped for. My wife's short ribs Benedict had overcooked eggs. My Chilaquiles were soggy and not very tasty. Dessert, strawberry shortcake quite dry We watched the wait staff scramble, bring food to the wrong tables, clearly overwhelmed by the large number of guests on this occasion. We have great hopes for this restaurant. However, for a large occasion such as today ñ, limiting the number of reservations and maximizing customer service, food, quality, and attention to guests would be optimal and we hope they take that suggestion. read more

Mae Dunne is a very nice brunch spot in the Leon Springs/Dominion area. I often forget about this place because it's hidden in the Dominion springs plaza next to the Gent's Place and a realty office. We last visited on Christmas eve afternoon. It was very quiet as expected, but still a very enjoyable dining experience. I started off with a espresso martini and my husband ordered a carajillo which was made table side! That extra added service was unexpected, but very much appreciated! Our drinks were made very well and our food did not disappoint either. On the menu you will find typical American fare,but also some reimagined Tex-Mex favorites. Let's start with the parking. Perfect lot for plenty of parking spots. Reservations were needed so I'm glad I had those taken care of. The hostesses greeted upon walking in. We came for Easter and it was packed, but we were prepared. The place is cozy and cute. They had the heaters on outside so it provided a nice space to look at from inside. Jason took good care of us. My only issue was when I was originally asked "sparkling or flat", I replied "flat" and was brought out water that I was charged for. Flat always means regular ol water. I made sure to say "tap water for the refill". My husband had crab cakes for an app and loved them. I did the short rib Benedict and the short rib was so tender and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. My son had the chicken sandwich and ate every bite. We waited a while for everything from the coffee, food, up until we had to pay. It took a while for us to finally catch the servers attention to ask for the check. FOOD: I had the machacado tacos which were fantastic. A pretty good portion with the beans, but I added the Parmesan truffle fries because they sounded good, and I was hungry. My only complaint was that the fries weren't really coated in the Parmesan truffle flavor. Rather, it was some cheese and garnish sprinkled on top, which didn't affect 80% of the fries. Tacos were awesome though, and they came with a few delicious sauces/salsas. Picked up food from this place today, and I was shocked. I had to go around to the back of the restaurant and stand next to a filthy, stinking, oozing dumpster while pounding on the kitchen door for someone to hand me my order. The food was good, but I will never order from them again because that's a completely inappropriate way to do business. We got here around one and had about a thirty minute wait. I highly recommend reservations, which are through Yelp. Our server was great. The place was slammed, but we never felt unattended. A hidden gem, which we would not have known about had someone not told us about. Came for brunch on Sunday. Piano playing in the background. Well lit, beautiful restaurant. Nice selection of different entrees. Everything we had was excellent. What stood out the most though was the passion you could feel from all the staff to make sure everyone was enjoying their experience. Our server Kailey was incredible. Definitely ask to sit in her section if she's available. She did a great job and did it all with an incredible smile and spirit that was so welcoming and refreshing. Asked her about her job and she couldn't stop talking about how wonderful the managers were and how appreciated they make her feel. From the young lady who brought us some warm towels to refresh before our meal to the owners who personally came by to thank us for coming in, we felt truly appreciated for choosing to spend our Sunday afternoon trying out their establishment. Pricing was $$$ and we felt it very reasonable. Even a couple surprises we weren't expecting. They have a very nice outdoor patio as well. My book club chose this place for our meetup this month. It's a very posh spot. Loved the vibe. The food was not my favorite. It was good but not great.
