Quick and easy to order my food! Was driving through on my way to SF and needed a taco fix. I got the carne asada and chicken tacos and they were delicious. Carne asada of course was the winner you really can't beat those. I really wanted a jalapeño but didn't say anything and it didn't come with it haha, next time I'll ask!

Tacos done right! Came around 9pm on a Saturday and it was still pretty popping which says a lot. I got two of the quesatacos, one campechano which is a mix of chorizo and asada and one al pastor. You order inside the tent then take your ticket to the truck where they make your food fresh. The tortillas they use for these tacos are unreal! Handmade and you can taste the corn and I wanted to order a dozen tortillas just to have at home. The tacos were delicious with a good amount of filling and toppings. I also got an agua de piña that I could tasted the pineapple pulp so I knew that was made from scratch as well. There's a few tables inside the tent that fill up quick so I think most people order to go.

I was super excited to try out this Oakland spot but was disappointed. It wasn't terrible however the steak and chicken weren't the greatest quality and I felt like the tacos had little to no flavor. The horchata was delicious and I loved their salsas!

I've been coming to La Parrilla Loca for years, and it has consistently served the best Tijuana-style tacos in the Bay Area. If you haven't had them before, Tijuana-style tacos are typically cooked over an open flame, served on slightly crispy handmade corn tortillas, and topped simply with fresh salsa, onions, and cilantro. When they're done right, the combination of charred meat, warm tortillas, and fresh toppings creates something really special. Unfortunately, the experience has changed a bit. The city made them take down their outdoor grill, so you no longer get that cloud of smoke and the smell of sizzling meat drawing you in from down the street. That was a big part of the atmosphere. Even so, the food is still excellent. My go-to tacos are the carne asada and the chorizo. The meat is always cooked just right, the tortillas have the perfect texture, and the toppings bring everything together. But I have to admit, it felt a little sad on my last visit. What used to be a place with lines wrapping around the block was almost empty on a Friday night. Oakland, why can't we have anything nice?

These tacos hit so hard. I truly believe they're some of the best in the bay. The meat here is tender, juicy, smoky, and stacked in each taco. I prefer the asada here (I usually go for pastor). Each bite made me crave more and made me regret not order another. These tacos remind me of what I'd get in San Diego or LA - maybe even better. The service is quick - they prefer Venmo or cash. The space has a lot of seating. Street parking is usually fine around the corner too, just make sure to not leave anything in your car lol (it's worth it trust) If you're craving some crazy delicious tacos, come here!

I found this place through Instagram. This is my first time ordering Vampiro tacos. The vampiro is a crispy taco with melted cheese, salsa, onions, cilantro, and guacamole. For my meat, I chose al pastor. These tacos were delicious and I would highly recommend them. They are on the heavy side because of the guac and cheese.

My friend and her boyfriend have been obsessed with the burritos from La Parrilla Loca for a while now and she mentions it pretty often when I see her. She said her boyfriend "would write love letters to their pastor if he could." With a review like that, I knew I had to visit this place. My boyfriend and I were craving some good Mexican food after our Asia trip and this place immediately came to mind. We were looking for something lighter since we weren't too hungry so we opted for their tacos. We each got 3 tacos each with hot salsa (2 pastor and 1 asada) which were around $4 each and 1 medium fresa Aqua Fresca which was $6. They were out of lengua unfortunately. We ordered at the cashier in the tent first and then handed our ticket to the worker taco truck. I like that they provided sides in the tent for customers to grab as needed like grilled onions, limes, cucumbers, jalapeños, and salsa. We waited about 10 minutes for our food to come out once we gave it to the truck. We tried our aqua Fresca first since they serve it as you pay for the food. The strawberry aqua Fresca was pretty sweet. It had sort of a strawberry preserve flavor, less so of a fresh strawberry flavor. I kind of wish it was more fresh, but it was still pretty refreshing because of the ice and it honestly saved me when I was dying of spice from the jalapeño I decided to eat on it's own. We tried the pastor taco next. It was so B O M B. If I could describe perfection in a taco, it would be this one. Loved how tendor, flavorful, and juicy the pastor was and the hot and mild salsa and guac kept the taco moist and divine. My only wish is that the tacos would be slightly bigger. I had the asada taco, which was just okay to me. I liked how the steak was tender, but it didn't have too much flavor. But the taco was honestly still good from just the guac, salsa, onions, and cilantro. I'm already thinking about my next trip here. Can't wait to come back to try their burritos and to demolish more pastor tacos!

Wow. Listen. I'm a hater. I'm a LA native who's been in East Bay for a while and never enjoyed any Mexican food I've had here. (South Bay is a different story though, shout-out to East San Jose!). But after going here this weekend, I think I can finally say there's something similar to Mexican food in LA. The pastor on the spit was the first good sign. The tortillas are perfect, not too thin or thick/chewy. The salsas are delicious and well seasoned. The meat portions are generous. Immediately left with too much leftovers thinking about when I will be coming back next. The pupusa spot next door is BOMB too.

I decided to brave the streets of Oakland on by way to pick-up someone from the Oakland Airport. I have been craving some good street tacos for awhile and saw that it was going to be a slight 5 minute detour. I ordered two Al Pastor Tacos with everything and an Al Pastor Vampiros since I had never had one before. The taco was flavorful, the single tortilla tasted homemade, it came with onions, cilantro, tasty Al Pastor and guacamole. For some reason the meat seemed a little oily but overall a great taco. The Vampiros came with two street taco sized fried tortillas, onions cilantro, I chose green salsa, guacamole and cheese. I loved the blended flavors of all of the ingredients. Although the area looks a little sketchy it looks relatively safe during day light. I parked on the next block and did a very brisk walk. I plan to go there again, get Al pastor to see if it is normally oily and some Carne Asada. I definitely got my taco fix. Fir excellent tacos, swing by and the extra bonus is a fruit stand by the entrance to the Taco Truck.

La Parrilla Loca still has their amazing tacos but the set ip has changed bc the fire Marshall said they can't cook up against a building, I guess. There is now more seating. Take a look at pics I've included.

2 carne asada and 1 al pastor
    Hope L.

These are hands down some of the best tacos I've had. I got 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor taco and the meat was perfectly cooked and the tortillas were homemade. The tacos came with guac which was super nice as most places charge extra for it. They were super affordable at $3.50 each but just a heads up this place is cash/venmo only and doesn't take card. Would definitely come back!

This is my first time finding Mexican food cooked on charcoal in the bay! I was so excited to find this spot. You order at the taco truck and make your way to the chefs to get your tacos made. The tacos are all hand pressed and the smokiness from the charcoal makes a huge difference. The Al pastor is cooked on a trompo. However, they don't slice it thin like they do at Leo's in LA, seems more for show. The carne asada needs some more seasoning. The salsas definitely need some salt as they were kinda bland. Overall I'd still come back, they remind me of the Arizona taco scene where a lot of it is cooked on charcoal as well.

    Pastor taco
    Jacqueline T.

These were the best tacos I've ever had! Highly recommend trying the cabeza and azada tacos. The pastor had good flavour but was a tad too salty for us. For meats, you can choose from azada, pastor, pollo, chorizo, and cabeza. All tacos are topped with onion, cilantro, guacamole, and your choice of either hot or mild sauce. You can also get grilled onions and grilled jalapeños on the side, just ask. We also got horchata which was really good and creamy. Lines will be long, but it's worth the wait! For payment they only accept zelle or venmo, and you pay for it beforehand and then stand in line with your receipt to get your food.

Went by here this evening and saw no grills outside grilling up the asada, etc like I've seen on Instagram ? Just a truck like every other spot in town ...did I miss something?

Something with the city not wanting them using charcoal because of the environment. Food being prepared in the open where customers can accidentally spit talk over it. Food safety violation. That's what I was told.

What are there hours for saturday?

Hey Diana, they are open from 4pm-11pm everyday except for Monday. Thanks!

What hours are you open Friday?

Hey Joe, they are open from 4pm-11pm everyday except for Monday. Thanks!

    What are their hours?

Hey Mike, they are open from 4pm-11pm everyday except for Monday. Thanks!

What happened to this place? It's not on the map anymore. La parrilla loca? No phone # nothing.

Hey Paola, they are located on the corner of San Leandro St and 98th Ave. Google 9829 San Leandro St and you'll see the grill and their truck there. Happy eating!

Do you know how The Cheesecake Factory has a massive menu with 200 items, none of which are done well? This is the exact opposite. They do one thing--Puebla-style al pastor, cooked on a trompo--and they have completely mastered it. The al pastor was cooked to perfection--not oily or greasy at all (which some places struggle with). The meat-to-tortilla ratio was spot-on, and the pineapple chunks were fresh, a real treat, and perfectly proportioned. A really nice touch is that the plate came with a flat tostada shell, so you can scoop up any filling that falls out. They offer two types of salsa picante: Salsa roja - Flavorful and seriously spicy Salsa verde - Milder but still delicious One word of caution: onions with habanero slices are on the tables. They are delicious but go slow--I overdid it and had to take a break. The stand has plenty of seating, it's very clean, and the people running it are super friendly and happy to answer questions.
