This place was so good! While staying in canyon lake, I visited this place 2 times for breakfast. Their bean and cheese tacos were sooo good and their tortillas taste homemade. The menudo was super delicious and had enough spice in the flavor. Their chips and salsa were also really good and had a good balance of heat. The service here was amazing even when the rush came in. Inside there are plenty of tables to choose from whether you want a table or a booth and the place isn't super noisy. Will definitely be back if ever in the area again! read more

This restaurant sits butt up against Highway 306 with limited parking, and has 10 tables. It was clean and orderly and well-maintained. We had the carnitas plate and the barbacoa plate and they were both very good. If you've tried barbacoa and found some less than appetizing items included, you will be pleased with these. And if you've never had carnitas, I strongly recommend you try these. It's one off my favorite Mexican dishes and very authentic. read more

I just have to say! my experience at La Pasadita restaurant was amazing! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. I couldn't get enough of their flavorful dishes and the friendly staff made the dining experience even better. I highly recommend checking out La Pasadita if you're ever in the mood for some fantastic food and great service! Ps. There is different ways the migas plate is made for breakfast! Usually it's scrambled eggs with tortilla chips, but you could ask for it a la Mexicana (meaning with a mix of veggies) I made the mistake of not asking for that, and my migas being made with out the veggies! They unfortunately informed us they don't have any Pastor meat, so instead we ordered something else. 30 minutes into waiting for our food, they eventually return to inform us they didn't re-stock on ground beef either (which is what we attempted to order instead of the other missing item.) Not sure why it took half an hour just to let us know they don't have basic ingredients, but needless to say I didn't have all day to wait and was unable to have a simple lunch. I went there all the time, but recently my orders have been wrong because the man answers. They refuse to give a refund and insist you drive all the way back there. I asked for fajita beef street tacos, got home and opened up my meal to a tortilla filled with meat... The time before that I asked for chips and queso and I got home and had a bag of chips and shredded cheddar cheese. I will not be going back here, as I simply asked for a few dollars off the entire meal since the whole thing was wrong and I didn't want to drive 20 more minutes there and back to correct their issues. They refused. Will never return, highly recommend new staff. I never post bad reviews but this place left a bad impression. I'll be making sure to tell all friends and family that visit to NOT go here. Literally paid $24 PLUS 15% tip FOR PICKUP and they won't refund a few dollars. read more

We finally got to stop in here and enjoyed it. It's small and the furniture will not excite you but the food did for me. They made me fresh coffee at lunch and the salsa they brought out was very good. I had grilled chicken and shrimp served sizzling on an iron platter. This was cooked and seasoned perfectly with the peppers and onions. My wife had shrimp a la Mexicana which was also just right in our opinion. It was quiet in the middle of a weekday and our server was very nice and attentive. It was a pleasant experience and we could hear a cook singing along with the radio at times - she had a rather nice voice too! Do be aware that the menu reflects a "3% discount" for cash customers. I'll give em a 5 - not for the chairs and such but the food and service was just spot on. read more

First visit, stopped in on Sunday morning about 9:30 for breakfast. The food, my eggs with chorizo with potato and bean sides, my wife's egg and bacon taco times 2, were excellent, more than adequate portions, and affordable. Our server, Star, was pleasant, welcoming, and attentive. She offered salsa. I requested and received a selection of red and green sauces and the best Pico de Gallo I have had this side of Mexico. Our server checked on us a couple of times without being intrusive. All in all, a delicious meal and a great experience. We perused the lunch/dinner menu as we will be back! Small, clean, well-lit, comfortable temperature. Small parking area that will have to be expanded as their reputation spreads. I predict a wall being knocked out for expansion or a relocation to a larger facility. The food was downright inedible. We arrived and were 1 of 2 tables in the whole restaurant and still managed to get terrible service. Both waitresses spent the entire time on their phone and never checked on us unless we flagged them down, and even then they did nothing. Attempted to return a quesadilla because the cheese somehow managed to taste worse than a discount cheese whiz and the meat was dry and awful-tasting, yet they refused to take it off of the ticket despite us taking 1 bite of the meat that had fallen out of the quesadilla each. Waitress argued with us that she couldn't take it off and kept insisting the food is "fresh" despite all the evidence to the contrary. Ambiance was terrible, drove up and instantly knew it was bad, but the person I was with said we might as well try it -- they had a rusty old fan sitting on a chair in the seating area which was loud and frankly dirty to look at. Margaritas looked as if they had a fruit cup from the discount store in the bottom of them, legitimately the worst margs we've ever tasted, barely got through half of them and there was a weird semi-solid paste that kept jamming up the straw. Felt sick the day after eating here since I decided to down my "steak" tacos, worst ones I've had in my life there as well. Salsa is a weird bean/salsa mix, they really can't get much of anything right. The good reviews are a little sus, legitimately stopped in because we saw 4 stars on Yelp but I wouldn't rate this anything above 1 star. Morgan was very sweet and she's honestly the only reason that we had a decent time. The food was unseasoned and badly timed coming out. If you have any taste buds whatsoever it is prevalent that this food is blander than broiled chicken on the pavement at 4pm on Armadillo Rd. Honestly, it isn't often that I leave a bad review but using government cheese that isn't even melted is crazy! Please save your time and money and go somewhere else. We are grateful that they sat our big party and attended to us but still isn't my first, second, or third choice. Being drunk wouldn't even save how I feel about this food. Super-friendly little no-frills place. Our family was fans of all the tacos: crispy beef, mini carnitas street tacos and fajita chicken. My son ordered a taco with no onions, and they accidentally left some on. The server saw him picking them out, and brought him a new one without asking.
