[[HIGHLIGHT]]We walked in on a weekend and were seated in the patio area (dogs allowed!).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is large with lots of options, including taco plates with choose-your-own-sides. The sodas are also bottomless which is an added plus. I had the fish tacos with a side of beans and mac and cheese. The tacos were just okay and the sides were tasty although not necessarily all authentic Mexican food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall a solid casual restaurant in El Segundo for a meal![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time visit. Sat inside with a party of three. There is also a larger outside patio with heaters. Servers were very attentive supplying chips and salsa (spicy) immediately. We all ordered cheese enchiladas with varying sides. Entrees arrived in good time with a smile. Overall it was decent and appeared to be very busy with a family crowd on a weekday early evening.

Cute little hole in the wall restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The service was great, our waitress was very attentive and checked in on us very often. The food also came out really fast which was nice. Everything tasted good but wasn't anything to rave about. They did give complimentary chips and salsa. I wouldn't go out if my way to come here but would eat here if i was around the area.

Haven't been here in a long time and incredibly the food is consistent. The burrito I Ordered was amazing the service incredible Whitney or server was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]big bright windows, great booths and table and the music doesn't kill you while you're trying to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has at Hometown feel and everyone knows your name.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Best part has a full bar for those of you that love margaritas

YOU GET FREE CHIPS & Salsa . Upon entry you have a friendly hostess who greets u with a smile and is very helpful. This restaurant has a young hip and cool kinda vibe, doesn't strike me as an "authentic Mexican restaurant " based on the staff working here and music that was playing. This place was decent, the food is pretty standard , it's not bad at all but it doesn't knock your socks off. I visited on a Tuesday but I didn't notice on the menu if they had a happy hour or any taco Tuesday" specials. I order a small side guac , veggie rojo enchiladas with Mexican rice & black beans, also a "Top Shelf" margarita. I can't even hold you the Guac was slackin on its mackin. It was just mashed avocado. The entree was tasty a fair amount of heat but not to spicy where u couldn't enjoy it. The drink was tasty along with the chips & salsa. I could have used a fresher batch of chips but I didn't ask. The prices could be a little lower but, Overall this place is worth trying. I liked it .

I came here for dinner on a Sunday night and my experience here was pretty good! My family and I shared the following dishes: -Chicken and Steak Fajitas: The meat was flavorful and tender. They came with warm homemade tortillas and it was tasty. -Chicken Taquitos: These were tasty, but a little less crunchy than I would like for my taquitos. -Chicken Enchiladas: Solid, saucy, and cheesy. -Chicken Tamale: Also solid and moist. -Shrimp Fajitas: Plump shrimp and tasty. -Chips and Salsa: Tasty and crunchy and I love the heat from the salsa. Birthday Flan: Creamy, custardy, and not too sweet. Honestly, there were no misses here. Everything was tasty, flavorful, and nothing was too dry. The prices were also good and not too overpriced for Mexican food considering the area. The service here was pretty good and efficient. Parking is metered parking. The food here was not mind-blowing and I would still opt for other places though. However, it is a solid pick for a restaurant and Mexican food in Manhattan Beach.

We got to try the mushroom choriqueso (which was our favorite item), Al Pastor tacos, taquitos, shrimp ceviche and two Mercado margaritas. All of this for about $70! Everything tasted great and came out super quick too. Service was absolutely amazing. What makes it worse is that this is not our first time with Mercado. We've been fans since the original location near The Grove and have been coming to this South Bay location for a while. We used to order takeout and dined in regularly and in the past the experience was much better. Unfortunately, that is clearly no longer the case. The service was atrocious from start to finish. We waited far too long for everything, including drinks. A single Tecate took about 30 minutes to arrive, which set the tone for the rest of the night. Nobody checked on us, nobody seemed attentive and we spent way too much of the evening just sitting there waiting. The food was equally bad. The carnitas nachos came out cold. The steak taco was rubbery. The fish tacos were incredibly dry. The birthday fajitas were also dry and underwhelming. For a place at this price point, there is really no excuse for food coming out like this. The overall atmosphere also felt off. What used to feel lively and welcoming now felt neglected and poorly managed. It was especially frustrating because this was supposed to be a birthday dinner and instead it turned into a long, overpriced, disappointing experience. It genuinely breaks my heart to write this because we have a long history with Mercado, but after this visit, we're done. There are too many better options in the South Bay to spend this kind of money on bad food, bad service and an overall miserable experience.

Both were excellent, well balanced, and made with quality tequila. The shrimp taquitos disappeared fast and were easily one of the highlights of the meal. For our entrees, I ordered the lobster and shrimp enchiladas. They were rich, creamy, and loaded with seafood. The rice and black beans were seasoned well, which I always appreciate because sides can make or break a meal. My date had the rib eye tacos, and the steak was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. The cheesy potatoes underneath were so good I had to steal a few bites. What really elevated the experience was our waiter, Anderson. He was an absolute delight. Friendly, attentive, and personable without hovering over the table. Service like that makes a difference. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great date night spot. Even the bathrooms were spotless and well kept, which always says something about how a restaurant is run. We left full, happy, and made it to our jazz concert right on schedule. We were staying near LAX and I didn't want to drive too far, so we stumbled upon this Mexican spot in the cutest little downtown area ever. El Segundo, you are THAT b*tch! We arrived around 5:30 on a Saturday and were seated immediately (thank goodness). Our server was super duper friendly and even had multiple conversations with us throughout the meal, sharing anecdotes and talking to my tattoo artist friend about getting a tat from her LOL. We quickly ordered some chips and queso (not free) and were blown away by how creamy and tasty the queso was. The tortas were also delicious and easy to scoop a lot of cheese on to. On to the menu, they had a good variety of Mexican dishes, but the price point, man. I thought $4-5 a taco at Barrio Queen in Arizona was steep, but this place charged $7-8 for a single small taco. I would've been okay with any menu item since it's Mexican and nothing under that cuisine could be bad, but seeing each enchilada over $30, made me steer clear of the main entree dishes. I also knew I wanted to try fish tacos, so I just opted for one fish taco and one grilled taco, with a side of mashed black beans. Crazy that some black beans also were at least $5. The fish taco was nicely battered and the guacamole was ripe and creamy, but the grilled chicken taco was nothing spectacular. There was also cauliflower tacos and beef brisket tacos ordered among us. My friend who ordered the beef brisket taco rated it 7.5/10, whereas the cauliflower tacos were rated 9/10. The food also took at least 20 minutes to arrive at the table. Both sauces my tacos came with were extremely spicy so I didn't even touch those. My friends enjoyed their meals, and the side of green rice two of them got was rather tasty. Overall, our server was the best part of the experience. She really ate DOWN, whereas our food and the price point did not.

So like yesterday, I decided to stop by and grab a burrito, but unfortunately, this will be the last time. I usually visit this location with my dad. He's been coming to this location since before I was born and I'm damn near 40. But this time I came alone and the place was packed. They don't have a big seating area. It's like a bar with about four seats to the right and four seat seats to the left so it doesn't accommodate many people, so people order to go. And that was my plan. I walk in and the server (with his chef at and money taped to it) and I grab the same menu. He allows me to have it, and he grabs another and gives it to one of the customers. I say all this to say that he definitely knows exactly when I arrived. However, A white man walks up less than a minute later and for some reason he decides to ask him if he ready to order, as if I'm invisible. This was the second time that this happened to me today and God knows how many times has happened to me in life. So at some point, I just have to stop ignoring the fact that Black people aren't welcome in certain spaces. Maybe we are by law, but not at all met with respect! That is all!
