Highly recommend! Great date night experience! This is a small, intimate restaurant with an incredible wine list and amazing food! The bread is made in house, the carpaccio was the best I have had anywhere else except in Italy! I was not sure what I wanted and was in the mood for steak, which they oddly enough do not have on the menu. The waiter suggested this stuffed pork chop w/ prosciutto & mozzarella and a mushroom sauce (not Marsala) over it. It was beyond good and cooked perfectly! Great service! Amazing might be too mild a word to describe our recent visit to LaPerla. Service, cuisine, and price; the restaurant trifecta. We arrived on time for our seven o'clock reservation, and were seated immediately. Bruschetta arrived at our table immediately, along with a complete, but not extravagantly large menu focused on homemade pasta, seafood and chicken and veal. Table service was superb; our waiter was clearly a pro who provided efficient, well paced attention. Our entrees of veal saltimbocca and black tagliatelle with a variety of shellfish were both excellent. A desert of crime brûlée completed our meal. A couple of mild cautions: do make reservations; it's a small space and was full the whole time we were there. Don't go expecting Mt. Vesuvius on a wall mural. It's nice, not loud but not a pizza kind of place. It's an easy location to miss. Located just north of Atlantic Blvd. In Pompano, it's small and it's possible to drive right by. Parking is free but the lot isn't easy to get into. Leaving is better since you can exit from the rear. Figure about $50/75 dollars per person for dinne with apps, entree and desert . Wine is available by the glass or bottle, with a bottle starting at around $40. Portions are truly large. Enough for two, especially the apps and salads. Don't want this to sound like a commercial and I don't usually gush, but do give it a try. It's well worth read more

Excellent, excellent experience. La Perla is the real deal. Period. Went last night to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing evening. Each dish is freshly prepared, the homemade pastas are divine, the saltimbocca was out of this world tender and perfect. Desserts (lemon cake and pistachio creme brûlée) were to die for, so deliciously made. Service was awesome, we felt well cared for and when our server heard us mentioning a bottle of rose to start, which is not on the menu, he said he had one in the back we could try. He even offered to open it for us and if we didn't like it, no worries. So accommodating, you feel the hospitality every second. The server made it perfectly clear that they could make changes to any dish if needed (how refreshing!), they wanted us to be happy. The atmosphere is cozy and charming. Def headed back! read more

Wonderful meal from beginning to end. From the homemade bread in the bread basket to the homemade desserts. I had the pistachio crème brûlée-outstanding! It was PHENOMENAL I loved all of the food that I had especially the Nutella chocolate lava cake. The service was absolutely fantastic and so welcoming and fun, you could tell how much they really cared about their customers. It gave a classic nice vibe and was very comforting. My aunt got the Strozzapreti alla Norcina. This is the one I wanted so badly, but I can't have all that cream. I tried hers though and OH MY. SO GOOD!!! So much flavor My sister got the Pollo alla Fiorentina with pasta instead of veggies. She said it was really good but too heavy for her. She switched dishes with my aunt! My aunt loved this dish! Ladies and gentlemen- If you want an authentic Italian meal- come on down to this unassuming little gem in the middle of federal hey tucked away on the east side with a parking lot in the back. Lino and Manuela know how to bring you back to Italy. As an Italian from Lombardy I can tell you that this place is like going to eat at any one of your relative's houses back home. We have been here a dozen times, and it never disappoints. Here you can experience the true flavors of several regions of Italy. Lino is from Puglia where my dad is from and where I spent many of my summers as a kid. Manuela is from up north, close to where I was born and raised and you can experiment this in one evening when visiting them. I have had the pleasure of having dishes like vitel tonné or vitello tonnato which is a topical Piemontese dish on a veal eye round topped with a tuna sauce. Manuela adorns it with caper berries and some little biquinho peppers. Amazing. This is a true flavor of the north as an appetizer. Staying up in the mountains and hills of the north, there are exquisite dishes such as traditional boscaiola sauces made with porcini that are accompanied alongside a protein like a veal chops and some of Manuela's incredible home-made pasta like her pappardelle. If you want something a little more southern the octopus never disappoints; it's tender, delicious and charred, accompanied with a balance of an acidic accompaniment like citrus. Just delicious. There are also a plethora of seafood options. The other night I had a home made squid ink pasta with shrimp and shellfish that was out of this world. Don't you dare leave this place without trying one of the desserts on that dessert tray! Tiramisu, cannoli, Nutella cake, profiteroles...and make friends with Lino- you'll get some limoncello if you behave! Buon appetito, everyone! Def one of our favorites. read more

We came here for Valentine's Day dinner. I liked the fact that they had a regular menu and not a (overpriced?) price fixed set menu which I asked about when making our reservations. And reservations are highly recommended on weekends. There is a small parking lot right behind the restaurant. It's one way entering and you can miss it if you go too fast. Just circle the block as we did... It was quite busy, as you can imagine, so it was a longer dining experience than anticipated, but that's to be expected on a holiday. This is not a place for fast food. It's a tad upscale with white table cloths. You'll enjoy it more if you come dressed appropriately. But it's not a stuffy atmosphere, either. They first brought us a complimentary plate of bruschetta to the table. After you order, they brought the bread basket with thin garlic toasts and slices of crusty house-made Italian bread. With the basket is a small side dish of eggplant caponata. We decided to share a burrata appetizer to start. It had thin slices of prosciutto and strips of roasted red peppers around the ball of creamy burrata. All of this was on top of a mound of mixed greens. The burrata was the star. For an entree, I selected off their daily specials menu, and chose their branzino Francesca. It also had a few pieces of shrimp on top of the sea bass fish. The seafood was in a light egg batter and topped with a lemon sauce. It was quite good. I didn't care for the vegetable mix on the plate (broccoli, squash, carrots, etc with pieces of potatoes), but that was a minor quibble. My husband had their pappardelle della nonna from their regular menu. The house made wide noodle pasta was topped with a red tomato sauce that contained wild mushrooms, peas, and small meatballs. Someone's grandmother (nonna) knew what she was doing. It was very good. For dessert (they have a huge selection from an enticingly full tray), we chose their amaretto lady finger cake. The almond flavor came through once we dug through all the creamy whipped topping. A lot of restaurants have come and gone in this same location, but I think this current one will be quite successful here. Buon Appetito!! read more

There have been a number of very good Italian restaurants that have occupied this location but La Perla Di Pompano is the best of them. But before I get started on their excellent Italian food let me point out that there is plenty of free parking in the back which you can access by a driveway along the south side of the building or going around the block and entering from the rear. Unfortunately a lot of people seem to miss that. When I first stopped by for dinner I was thoroughly impressed with the new décor and bar. La Perla Di Pompano has certainly spruced things up from the time of its predecessors. It's now upscale elegant and well set up with white table clothes and perfectly set tables. And I'll add that those of their wait staff are now thoroughly knowledgeable, polite top notch professionals. I found the menu at La Perla Di Pompano be one with amazing offerings in seafood, meats, poultry and pastas. Just glancing it over you'd swear you must be in Italy and the best part of it is that you might just as well be as everything is authentic Italian. It has none of this Americanized Italian stuff you'd never find in Italy such as spaghetti meatballs dishes. Instead, here's it's the real totally authentic Italian. After I was seated I was first presented with an excellent complimentary bruschette of an oven roasted bread, olive oil, olive, Romano cheese, basil and garlic seasoned tomato which couldn't have been better in both taste and flavor. Then for dinner I ordered their classical Italian vongole, "Linguine alle Vongole Marechiareo," which was a delicious dish of clams tossed in olive oil, garlic and white wine with fresh chopped tomato over an al dente linguini pasta. The dish exuded with a certain clam freshness perfectly enhanced with the white wine reduction and garlic with sprinklings of Italian parsley. As far as restaurants go and particularly for Italian, La Perla Di Pompano is one of the best in the area and one of the few that I'd call Italian authentic. read more

Decided to try this place. Do keep in mind parking is in the back. It seems a little sketch until you walk around front and your transported into the restaurant. The restaurant is very cute and quaint. I love the decor. The waiter we had was very nice, attentive, and handsome (It never hurts to have something nice to look at during dinner ) We had bruschetta and it was Devine. Very very good. Definitely get it! For dinner I had the lobster ravioli. Then fish had spinach and shrimp. The food was good and I ate it all. My only critique is that the ravioli/sauce could have used a tad more seasoning but again I ate it all. The deserts looked really tasty but unfortunately I was too full for desert. We had cappuccinos after and it came with biscuit cookies that were also very good. Overall I think the experience was very positive and I would highly recommend trying this new gem! read more

Everything was fantastic! Our waiter, Salvatore, was very personable and provide both great recommendations and excellent service through the dinner. We ordered the burrata appetizer, which was more than enough for both of us and was uniquely presented with grilled pineapple, pine nuts and pesto. I had the veal chop with a parpadelle pasta, both of which were in a very good mushroom cream sauce. My wife has the chicken Florentine, which she loved. 5 stars for my first visit. We went to one of our favorite restaurantin Hollywood only to find out the chef had opened a restaurant in Pompano and was no longer working in Hollywood. Needless to say, we went to La Perla Di Pompano to find chef Manuela and eat her amazing cooking. The first sight was a large basket of homemade bread. What an invitation!!! Our server Mauricio suggested a nice and fruity wine. We couldn't have had a better pairing. As appetizer we had calamari fritti with shrimp and zucchini. They were lightly breaded and fried. Everything was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Just perfect! Our entrees were Gamberetti Alla Francese (lightly battered shrimp served in a lemon, white wine and butter sauce) and with Strozzapreti Alla Norcina (twisted noodles with crumbled Italian sausage, black truffle, and creamy tomato sauce). We shared Mango Panna Cotta for dessert. Can someone say .... awesome? I am so glad that this restaurant is open so we can have authentic Italian food right here in Pompano. They very extremely accommodating with our vegan dietary restrictions and the food was the best Italian we have ever tried. We had sautéed spinach (side item) which was out of this world delicious along with a side of vegetables/potatoes which was absolutely delicious. Huge portions for side items.
