My child would cry and tremble as soon as we would drive near this place. This was my first child so I thought this was just separation anxiety but soon realized something must have been very wrong here because when my son was pulled out from here and attended his new daycare he loved it.

Let me tell you my experience with them. First, Ms. Frazier got mad at me for not wanting to sing in her class. Even if I wasnt going to be there for the performance. I told her multiple times. "Ms. can I not sing" since she was asking everyone to, one by one, she continued to yell at me and say "does it look like you cant sing. We have 2 weeks left until the performance." Then proceeded to tell me "go sit over there since you dont wanna sing" Ps. I told her I dont wanna sing in a VERY polite way. Not yelling or screaming. In my inside voice. Very glad I don't have her anymore since I am leaving elementary. Along with Ms. Osander, I have had multiple issues with her. One time at beecare/an after-school program, i asked to go inside since i felt like i was having a heatstroke. She told me no. But thankfully another teacher came outside and took everyone in anyway. The next time, she got mad at me for walking fast in order to get a vest in order to open cars for the morning. The last time, she gave me a markdown for apparently BAD BEHAVIOR when I didn't even do anything. Then told my teacher that she NEVER said she never gave me a markdown. whenever she CLEARLY grabbed my tag on my backpack and told me "im giving you a markdown for disruptive behavior" EXCUSEE ME? mind you, this isnt the only tme she lied. Above all of this, thanks to Mr Sena and the relationship he was with my parents and my brother, I feel safe and know my future will go beyond with the support he gives me, if it wasnt for him, I know my parents would move me and my brother to another school. Jeanette the "director" is hardly ever in her office or there in general. I withdrew her due to them never communicating I was behind a week of payment because she did not attend after she got sick after having her there 1 week. This was my first time putting my child in any type of child care since she had been born and this was a terrible experience. I thought that because I paid out of pocket that I can trust that these people actually cared about the well being of children and not just money but this is far from the truth. The office staff is always lounging eating by the front while the teachers seem to be busting their butts in the classroom. The director never even called me to explain or even apologize on the lack of communication based on THEIR part. They make you do a $300 enrollment/app/ and supplies when you first enroll. Again my daughter never even got a cubby and they were unprepared for her the first day we took her. Don't give this place your money invest it somewhere they actually care. Do not let the splash pad fool you.

The decision to put your child in the…read morecare of someone else is never an easy one, but we have never second guessed putting them at The Pillars. The morning teachers always helped with what was, at first, a difficult transition with the youngest child. Before long it became pick up that was difficult because they were having so much fun. My 4 year old is even reading already and I partly credit the teachers with that! I love that they offer the A-Beka curriculum; additionally they offer Spanish and music lessons. As if that weren't enough to keep the kids busy, they also have a dance school, STEM based education classes, and a gymnastic bus that goes to the Reed Rd location once a week all at prices that don't break the bank. As parents it is important to us to have our kids at a place that is more than just a daycare, we want to make sure they are learning at every opportunity and with our busy schedules I like that they can do gymnastics at school. The learning environment, teachers, and staff are exceptional. Our kids are well cared for, feed, and educated. We are so happy we found The Pillars and I am thankful every day that they take such great care of our little ones.

He was bit a week later again. He also started coming home with bruises that again we werent notified about and only seen when changing his diaper and taking him a bath. People leave their child with you trusting you're watching them, having no answers for bruises and worse off not even informing us of them is poor communication. I'm so glad he's no longer there. If you dont want your child coming home with bruises that the daycare cant explain causes for, don't bring them here.

Right from the start of school, there were some major issues - not enough teachers, the school director wasn't on top of things, and the school was all over the place. While my child was there for about a year and a half (I didn't have other choices at the time), she went through a lot of things that I thought were really not okay. The teachers always had excuses that didn't really make sense. What really upset me was when my child came home with marks one day. She had marks that looked like they were from an adult's nails, but they said it could have been from a bush or another kid's hand. I had already talked to the state about problems before, but I didn't see any improvements. The school director and the person in charge of the area just gave me excuses. Nothing worse than your child lifting their arm and saying "dada ouch, dada ouch" over and over. Because of what she went through from the start, my child started biting as a way to protect herself from all the bad stuff. I had cameras on her all day, so I know how often it happened. But the teachers didn't seem to notice as usual. After an investigation, they kicked my child out for biting. On that same day, we got a call from a much better school nearby. Since she moved there, my child is doing so much better - learning more, talking and signing better. I really think the old school and its staff were holding her back. If I could rate that place, I'd give it a 0 for all the awful stuff we had to deal with. Do your child a favor and stay away from here.

Parents need to pay close attention to these details. Additionally, communication with assistant teachers needs significant improvement. The level of care and oversight from the lead teacher to assistants in the afternoon is lacking and needs immediate attention. After school care providers never seem to know what going on. Get to know your kids, on an individual level, know their needs and pay attention. Toddlers/preschoolers should not be without water especially during snack or meal times.

Communication was constantly a struggle -- I was often called at work about missing items even though I always asked ahead of time if anything was needed. When I did get updates, it was usually last-minute, leaving me scrambling within an hour to fix things. What hurt the most was when my child was hit in the face by another student, and I wasn't told until more than three hours later. No parent should have to find out something like that long after it happens. As a foster parent, I work hard to give my children stability and comfort, but this school made that transition so much harder than it needed to be. I truly hope no other parent has to go through what we did. Please look for a different preschool where your child will be cared for, and where you'll be treated like a valued parent -- not an afterthought.
