My husband and I visited ERC for his 30th birthday, and it exceeded all expectations. This was the most beautiful and relaxing place we have ever been. We got the swim up suite room, and loved it. The resort was so clean and well maintained, the rooms were wonderful, the food was the best we have ever had, the shows/activities at night were so fun, the drinks were delicious, the app was great at navigating the resort, and the pool is kept at the best temperature. The staff was truly the pinnacle of excellence. They made our experience so incredible and much better. Thank you so much Mario for making my husbands birthday so memorable. My only recommendations for guests, is that some of the restaurants have a dress code (my husband hates pants, so we had to buy him a pair at the gift shop), bring sunscreen/sunglasses/wide brim hat/after sun care, and if you get eaten to death my mosquitos bring bug spray. My husband didnt get bit at all, and i got bitten over 40 times. We cant wait to come back!

The taco truck is great but doesn't open until 4pm.. a little late for lunch. I don't want fries/hotdog/burger/nachos for lunch. The Linux buffet was great, but it would've been nice to have a salad or tacos by the pool. Loved the shows and trivia every night! Can't wait to go back.

It is a beautifully manicured place with some rooms, some cabins... and a delicious, like 3 course breakfast. The breakfasts change and they even asked if we were able to eat different foods - really the family is so beautiful and considerate and calm. honestly it is perfect. We had a delightful cabin with two double beds, a tv, a/c a kitchen, dining table, bathroom and furniture. It was great. It had a rustic aspect, and a rustic thing happened lol. Even though i would not exactly call an apartment with electricity and cable rustic... it is in a certain way. I just can't bring myself to say what lol. I would describe the hotel as "one lot back" from the beach. the location is excellent and in a way... it is on the beach because of te extense of the beach, but there is another building between the sea and the Amar Inn so it is not oceanfront... though some rooms probably have sea view depending on how they are situated. But there is a little road to the beach. Perfect. Puerto morelos is a quiet relaxing town. We are too old for playa del carmen. We love to just chill here. I'm really glad we did because the airport can feel overwhelming with so many taxi and shuttle options. When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted right away by the bellhop and a UVC team member, which was a great first impression. Since we got there early, our room wasn't ready yet, so we left our bags and changed into our swimsuits to enjoy the pool. It was nice being able to explore the property and relax while we waited. Once our room was ready, we got a call and headed back to the front desk to complete check in. Before long, we were on our way to the room with our luggage. We were really happy with the room itself and the location. After spending a few hours at the pool, I showered and took a much needed nap while my husband checked out the gym and walked around the resort. Once I woke up, I unpacked and got everything organized. I appreciated the amount of storage, especially in the bathroom since I had brought quite a few things. That first evening, we were both ready for dinner. Since it was Saturday, they had a seafood night by the pool along with a fire show. The food selection was just right for us, with paella and a few other seafood dishes, plus sides and salads. We grabbed a seat afterward and enjoyed watching the show. The overall atmosphere of the resort felt very tropical and relaxing. We loved seeing the wildlife, including iguanas and even a coati running around. There were also a few resident cats, and as a cat lover, I was so happy they were friendly enough to pet. I kept spotting them throughout our stay. We spent a lot of time at both the pool and the beach. We didn't go into the ocean because of the sargassum, but the beach itself was kept as clean as possible, and we still enjoyed walking along the shore. We frequented the Barracuda Bar and really liked Jose. He was friendly, energetic, and quickly learned our names and drink preferences. He even surprised me with a few drinks when I wasn't sure what to order. He stayed busy but handled everything so well, and I loved sitting on the bar swings and soaking in the atmosphere. While not all of the food stood out, there were definitely some highlights. The shrimp tacos at Seaside Grill were amazing. I'm not even sure what made them so good, but they were delicious. I also loved the pad thai at Himitsu. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the dish was full of flavor. I honestly would have ordered it again if we had more time. The desserts there were also incredible, especially the cloud cake and the matcha cake. Those ended up being some of my favorite treats of the whole trip. At El Patio, I tried a vegetarian taco that was the chef's special, and I'm so glad our server Eddie recommended it. Speaking of Eddie, he and Carlos really made a big impression on us. We saw them multiple times at different restaurants throughout our stay. Carlos was always welcoming and cheerful, and Eddie gave us some of the best service we experienced. On our final night at Bordeaux, they went above and beyond. Eddie had the chef create special dishes just for us, and they both came out to explain everything. As someone who loves food, that was such a memorable experience. They also surprised us with a plated dessert that said "have a nice trip," which was such a thoughtful touch. Of course, I had to take photos with them to remember it. Overall, we had a good trip and enjoyed our time at the resort. Since we used our UVC membership, our options were a bit limited, but this property worked out well. That said, I personally prefer adults only resorts, so I likely wouldn't return for that reason. I did appreciate that there was an adults only pool, though. We also had the opportunity to visit Dreams Mujeres for breakfast and a tour during our stay, which was a nice perk and something we really enjoyed.

After 42 years in management, trust me, this management staff needs a serious overhaul. I'm sure with competent management, the employees will be happier and more engaging. They will make it clear that your concerns are not their concerns. The beach is useless, full of seaweed, dirty brown, smelly, water. On that note, the resort water seems to be desalination water from the aforementioned seaweed infested water, and it permeates the smell in the water in the rooms. So the shower is slightly unpleasant, and the bedding doesn't smell fresh. There are rules for the pools, but no one enforces them. No idea where the lifeguards are, but it's certainly not in their chairs. It seems dinner reservation times are possibly tied to your status color. So I guess the more you spend the better you get. It seems people with the butlers and all are certainly having a different experience. The website says basic WiFi included, but that it also evidently tied to status. $60 per device per week. Or you can sell your sole to the vacation club presentation and get your WiFi refunded. But you'll probably realize afterwards the $120 would have been a better deal. Funny thing is, 1 mile away in Puerto Morelos, our cellular service worked fine. We stayed in Ventus, the newest hotel on property, the room was very nice with a great view. They tried to sell us an upgraded room for an additional $50 day, using a picture that wasn't even from our room. Glad we didn't fall for that. I'll say the food was very good overall, as were the beverages.

We've talked up this resort for years, and this time we convinced another family of five to join us. We booked online; they found a better deal by calling. At this point, the whole place feels like our vacation home. You can move freely among all three properties, each with its own vibe, and the daily activity sheet keeps everyone on track. Events rotate across the hotels every hour, so there's always something happening. The Marina hotel's main pool hosts a daily afternoon party--music, games, prizes--and our kids never miss it. We booked swim-up suites this trip. In the past, we've upgraded to one-bedroom oceanview suites using a little "cash diplomacy" at check-in and put rollaways in the master so we can reclaim the living area once the kids crash. It sounds odd, but it works well. The family traveling with us had the adjoining swim-up, so the kids had their own connected water playground. We always pack vacuum-sealed cups because drinks warm up fast, plus $300-$500 in small bills since tipping is constant and getting change can be tough. Dress codes at the nicer restaurants are enforced--men need shoes and no swim trunks--but collared shirts and nice shorts are fine. Bring sunblock, floaties, and rafts from home if possible; the resort prices are steep. We also arrange the airport shuttle through the hotel beforehand and buy the return shuttle on-site a few days before leaving. The three properties together offer a bit of everything--swim-up and walk-up bars, adults-only sections, hot tubs, volleyball courts, and a lounge bar with pool tables and live music. Marina is the oldest and has the main pool, waterslides, cliff jump, kids' pools, and most big activities. The beach there has unfortunately eroded over the years. Ventus is our personal favorite: newer layout, multiple big pools, Dolores Market, and beach access with all the toys. Ventus Ha, across the street, has a calmer, younger vibe with creative cocktails and an adults-only rooftop infinity pool overlooking the jungle. Speaking of Ventus Ha--the specialty cocktails there are excellent and a nice break from standard resort drinks. Dolores Market is usually the kids' top food pick. They roam freely between stations--sandwiches, pitas, Chinese food, pizza, ceviche, tacos, and, of course, the crepe counter with every topping imaginable. That said, across all three hotels the food has become repetitive; menus rarely seem to change. Snorkeling the barrier reef is easy to book through the hotel, but this time we walked to the marina and booked directly with the dive master, which was smoother. The only hiccup was that staff didn't help the kids with their gear before entering the water, so I spent half the water time adjusting masks. Next time I'll prep them myself from the start. The beach situation is complicated. Past hurricane damage caused long-term erosion, and although there are always rumors of a fix, nothing major has happened. Each visit, the usable beach seems a little smaller. You still get kayaks, paddleboards, and a staff-captained catamaran. The beach crew works nonstop hauling seaweed. Wind direction completely determines the beach experience: onshore winds bring murky, seaweed-filled water; offshore winds bring back the gorgeous blue. Near the main pool there's a figurine-painting booth that all five kids loved. You paint, and the artist outlines and glazes it. It's one of the best activities they offer. We waited too long for my daughter's turn, so the artist couldn't do the lining--go early. The staff across all three hotels are friendly, hardworking, and mostly English-speaking. Our kids (9 and 10) skipped the kids' club more this trip--they want more freedom now--but they loved hunting for iguanas and crocodiles. Iguanas are everywhere near the marina. The resort hosted a taco party night with live entertainment that ended up being one of our favorite events ever here. Seating was limited, so we sat on the grass, but the atmosphere was fantastic and the food felt refreshingly different from the usual menus. Even with repetitive food, some construction noise, seaweed challenges, and the usual resort hiccups, this place still gives us exactly what we want: easy days, endless kid-friendly options, plenty of flexibility, and that familiar, mellow feeling we keep coming back for. And yes--after all these years--it's still our tradition, and we'll absolutely return.

I had requested a bottle of champagne, and some fruit in our room on arrival to celebrate. She said She would take care of that! The transportation team was great , Unfortunately upon checking, we were pulled to a side immediately Diana asked to join " The Time Share" no greeting drink, no time to freshen up, no dinner. It was the most unpleasant greeting I have ever experienced in all my years of going to Resorts in Cancun any parts of the world. Once we told her we were not interested , her affect changed, and was no longer the nice attentive Diana that I had communicated with. Needless to say, there was no champagne or fruit in our room or ever arrived. It was so disappointing! There was no orientation on the resort, or events restaurants etc. We w also not informed that there was no Internet, a $60.00 dollar charge per device or$15.00 per day per device.!! We had no internet got 2 days until we went to pay for it. We upgraded room to be closer to the pool and the convention center, it looked like there was a drain issue by our room. The resort ,and the beach smelled like sewage!! The entire time!! The beach was not acceptable to swim in, with the fowl smell, even sitting by the pool it was horrible! One day we arrived after the pool to shower to find our toilet brown and the water from the sink and the shower running out like mud, and foul smell. One early morning we got a call from concierge service, not Diana asking if we had reconsidered The Time Share , I could not believe they be calling that early for that. Needless to say I tried to communicate with Diana regarding transportation back to the airport, with no response. We were told if we were not members they couldn't take us back. To get a shuttle or a taxi. We ended up taking an Uber back. We tried to purchase some Jewelry, waited for hours they were closed for lunch with no signs or hours at the Marina lobby. The one in the Ventus lobby the salesperson said she was sending a bracelet to the other store for us, never happened, we asked her if she was closing for lunch she said no, we returned and she was closed no one was there. Right before our departure. She also quoted us $500.00 US for the bracket, when we finally saw her again quoted us $800.00 for the same bracket. The gift store was also closed with no signs on return time, there were at least 5 families standing waiting in the heat to purchase something. We ended up buying our souvenirs at the airport. This resort was recommended by our travel agent. We went there per that recommendation, we are very, very disappointed. We will inform her as well of the poor service. Also we wanted Mexicana food, the Mexican restaurant was closed all week. Many employees were cold un attentive ,employee training on customer service is a must. Our first choice was Punta Cana DR, put with the recommendation, and being Mexican Citizen, we wanted to support Mexico tourism. Obviously that didn't work out for us !! What a shame!!

I'd been to Royalton Riviera Cancun several years ago, but this was my first time there since they completed renovations at the end of last year, and I can happily say that the updated look of the resort is excellent, and the staff among the best of any resort in Mexico. I'm a big buffet fan, and Royalton has one of the largest, most impressive buffets (available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner) that I've ever been to (this was one item I remembered with great clarity from my previous visit, and if anything the buffet is even better now). Staff members Graciela and Angel were particularly helpful. I also checked out Agave, the Mexican restaurant, and the food was superb, as was the service from my waiter, Jorge. And on my last night I hit up Taj Indian Cuisine, with excellent service from waiter Marcelino and hostess Suleman. The appetizer I ordered was so good, I requested a second plate of it. I like the way Royalton proper and the adult side, Hideaway, sit next to one another. It's easy to get between the two, but if you need some quiet and it's too loud by the main pool, you have several other options. I particularly like the small swim-up bar located just around the corner from the louder main pool/swim-up bar. The Hideaway Beach Bar (with excellent bartenders Manuel and Frank) is great for people like me, who enjoy being at the beach but get too much sun very quickly. The lobby bar just inside Royalton is also really cool. Lots of selection, and friendly bartenders like Alberto, Angel, Mateo, and Antonio (I may have spent more than a couple hours at this bar). Alejandro at the Martini Mix bar was also very nice. And Yuriana on the housekeeping staff--I can't say enough good things her and the housekeepers in general. If you want them to, they will do a comprehensive cleaning of your room, including sweeping and mopping the floor, every day. I greatly enjoyed this resort. Their renovations were well done and the staff and food are great. Seaweed is an issue this time of year, in this area, but they've got trucks hauling the stuff away, morning to evening, to clear it up as much as possible. I can recommend this resort without any concerns/reservations.

This was the FIRST time at this RESORT. The staff were friendly but quickly wanted us out of their space. They asked if this was the first time, we said yes. However we were NOT given complete information and were not told to BOOK restaurants NOW. Don't wait!!! The adjoining rooms : Mine was fine... however my daughter's was POOR. The sofa smelled like someone urinated on it . The reading light was poorly connect and gave one a shock when they touched. The bathroom had a broken and cracked sink that leaked water when you turned it on ( pictures below). One shower light leaked water. We notified the front desk the next morning , because we arrived late due to delayed Lomas Travel travel to the Resort from the airport. It took us 3 hours to get a van. We waited outside the the Lomas Travel spot and they were friendly . However kept saying " it is coming ". Gratefully when we finally had a van we were the first drop off location. We asked the concierge if there was another suite. NO was the response they were booked full . We would have to take a lesser upper floor and would have to sign a release /acceptance with no refunds or credits for the lesser room. Yes ...They came to clean the room and address the sofa bed odors and stains. they did not fix the sink nor the light. Only one dinner reservation was achievable, for 4 persons . The other reservations were for 2 people only. Understandable we could not go to the ADULTS only side restaurants with my young grandson. My recommendation: RESERVE all restaurants before you get to the resort Again we should have been informed BEFORE we arrived. The food was acceptable . The Indian and Italian restaurants were the best - they get 4 stars for the entrees and appetizers. The Indian restaurant did NOT have any of their menu listed desserts...only strawberry ice cream. This was a disappointment but tolerable. The Tex Mex restaurant was so poor we walked out and ordered room service. They are kid friendly and provide support if your child is over 5 years old or an infant that mom takes care of/feeds ! They had no paper, plastic cups or straws for 3 years old. They gave my grandson a stemless wine glass with chocolate milk. REALLY? We had to ask for a recyclable plastic cup every time we sat down. They had adult plates and eating utensils. So I learned that kid friendly meant that they smiled and said hi to kids and provided at 3 restaurants a kid menu of the basics. I will say 90% of the wait staff were friendly. Smiling and saying hello and have a good day in Spanish. And yes , we did tip them. However, Most of the answers to our questions were: - no we cannot do that or that is not available , or no sorry. The ADULTS ONLY side of the resort was beautiful ! and probably a better place and service . However remember NO kids are allowed on that side . MORE INCLUSIVE activities , 3 of them, were NOT kid under 6 friendly. NO kids under 6 . Nickelodeon was accessible and covered. However, despite scheduling in advance the date we wanted to go , we waited an hour to get a van ride to a place that was very close. And then we waited in line to get our wrist band. Again more information at check-in would have helped and directions how to walk there across the resorts would have helped. OR more golf cart transportation! There was a play area for kids but not open all day. And if your child was under 4 you had to have an adult there. BUT only one adult could come in. Another rule even if the place was empty ! We had to book our return transportation trip to the airport 3 x's . Once at Check in and 2x's more - not sure why? We did get a direct van 4 hours before our flight departure. Maybe should have fudged about departure time. The refrigerator was stocked sufficiently with water, sugary soda , and beers . No juices or other waters . No regular milk for children. 2 small cartons of chocolate milk. The weather was beautiful as well as the views. My recommendation s are: work directly with the Resort and reserve. FORGET the middle man - LOMAS Travel in our case. It cost us extra $$ for sure. It was hard to get a fully paid receipt from either entity and we had to fully pay i month before arrival. It was very difficult to get travel vouchers to the RESORT . We received them less than 4 hours before arrival in Cancun. Promised 5 days before arrival . Ask many questions, the web site has limited information mostly for advertisement purposes. BOOK all eating locations requiring reservations before you arrive at the Resort . Make sure if you are bringing kids that they are older than 6! We should have been told about that by the travel agent.

We paid for premium platinum upgrade and was put in a moldy building next to an active construction site, they were actively building next to the premium beach upgrade area. The elevator smelled so badly of mold I took the stairs every day. Despite expressing my dissatisfaction every day the hotel REFUSED to refund any of the premium upgrade money ($700) . My travel agent is also FIRED for sending us here.
