That night, I ended up in the emergency room and had to receive IV medications. Even after being discharged from the hospital the next morning, the following days of our vacation were ruined because I was still recovering. The financial cost is one thing, but having a vacation you've planned and paid for ruined by a single plate of pasta is incredibly disappointing. The pasta itself was cooked al dente, but I believe the problem was with the sauce. I didn't even enjoy the flavor while I was eating it. I asked for Parmesan to make it taste better, but honestly, I wish I had stopped eating it altogether. I'm sharing this experience in the hope that more attention will be paid to food freshness and kitchen hygiene.
