If you're ever in downtown Campbell and are craving Italian, you must check out la pizzeria! Such a cute little spot to dine at. They have both inside and outside seating, an extensive menu but not too extensive, and the staff is so attentive and kind. Chloe was our server and she was excellent. She was so patient and kind and had a lovely smile. It was my friends birthday and this restaurant really made this a memorable experience. Definitely plan on come back and letting others know about this spot. Great... I discovered this place with a friend a few months ago... and now I have developed a very healthy yearning for their pizzas (especially the prosciutto 'n arugula presently). And even though the place is a good 30 minutes from where I live, when the hankering hits me... I just gotta go. Get the mental picture of one of those cartoon dogs, standing upright, arms flopped at his side, hypnotic glaze on his face, and nose in the air picking up some intangible whiff of great food? Yeah that would be the "me" on days when La Pizzeria hits me in the ether-sphere. But more than that, the restaurant is an eventful dining experience. I ate there with 5 friends this last weekend; the food and the experience and the service was so good we laughed and joked and ate for 2 complete hours, looking & sounding like some too-fun-beer-commercial, or something. Yeah, the food and the staff is just that good. I know they have a menu of several good things, but I can't get past those "authentic Italian" pies yet!! Phenomenal, just phee-nom-in-ALL!! I've been coming here since the place opened and have watched it grow and change. It's always been my favorite place to go get authentic Italian pizza well before it became trendy. But over the past few years I've noticed the prices go up while the quality has declined. Tonight was an all time disappointing low. For starters it's always been a small place and I get that weekends feel even more crowded in there which is why I decided to order take out for my family because with kids, it feels awkwardly tight. I paid just over $110.00 dollars for just four pizzas and an appetizer. Normally I'd say this is over priced, but I get its family owned and I like that it's authentic. Here's where my review and experience goes south. I enter the establishment to not be greeted and have to dart towards the bar area where I flag down someone to ask for help with my take out. The bar area was crowded with people and there was no where to ask anyone for my order, so I tried pushing my way towards the narrow path in between the bar and tables. It's even more awkward here because I'm standing where people are trying to eat and waiters are trying to pass from the busy kitchen to the dining area. I was literally bumped into and/or tripped over about 8 times in a 5 min period. I felt so uncomfortable because while standing there I'm getting eyes rolled at by the wait staff trying to do their jobs and dirty looks by guests trying to eat their dinner while my purse is literally hanging inches from their heads! This frustrated me because I had just as much right to be there picking up my order as everyone else, so I tried asking again for assistance because I wanted nothing more than to flee the establishment at that moment. Once finally getting checked out and leaving my tip (which I almost felt wasn't even deserved because I was passed around by 4 people in the 10 or so minutes it took) I needed assistance finding my way out through the crowded walk way. The greeter was checking in two guests while I tried squeezing around them. I asked for help with the door because my hands were full just to be ignored by him and the couple whom where standing inches from the door. No problem, I pushed through them nearly dropping everything because I couldn't grab the handle. Finally made it home to be sadly disappointed by the stale Italian deli meats that had a tangy rancid flavor as if cut days prior. Our pizza bread that accompanied the meats was hard and clearly from the day prior and not warm and fresh. My daughter's Milanese tasted sour as well from the spicy salami that I think was stale. All in all, because of the bad experience, poor tasting food and high prices, I'm sad to say, we're going to have to find a new place for Italian style pizzas. I feel as though they should in some ways better accommodate guests that are picking up take out orders so that they don't experience this same issue. read more

Seriously DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! I ordered through door dash a margarita pizza and tiramisu. The pizza was not cut (and trust me I understand there is a pandemic) but I still don't get why they couldn't cut my pizza your hands are not touching it. The pizza cutter is cutting it right, not bare hands???? Then I check my tiramisu and it's old and has mold. I called the place not because of the pizza but to at least let them know about their tiramisu. The person that picked up just said "oh no I'll let them know so we can get you a refund on the tiramisu" .... ok I guess you don't care about checking the rest of your food? I heard that Le Pizzeria started serving vegan cheese and much more vegan options! The dishes I tried were: Penne Salsiccia and Pizza Estate. Their vegan sausage was so flavorful and well seasoned and cooked. I was surprised about their non-dairy cheese and how well it melted. The garlic bread was good, just wish it had more garlic, duh! Our server was really sweet and the service was fast. The only con was price- I don't think a pizza should cost $19 with some cheese and a few tomatoes. Went to a birthday dinner here last night. It is like a high end pizza parlor with a causal setting. They don't have BEER ON TAP, but a lot of wine choices. The pizza are very thin crust with a lot of specialty flavors to pick from. We did Chinese family style with 4 of us each order a pizza and sharing it. Pretty good service. I tried 4 different pizzas: 1. Spicy Salami **4 stars: very simple pizza, but the spicy salami was very flavorful and the cheese was also really good along with the crispy crust. 2. Salmon Pizza **4 starts: smoked salmon was tasty and very tender, I never had a salmon pizza before so it was a good treat. 3. Prosciutto-arugula **3.5 star: the prosciutto I find was too salty, the arugula help to tone it down a bit, but wasn't as good as the first 2 pizza. 4. Capricciosa ** 3 star: the anchoive in it was a little too strong/fishy, and the pizza had too much moisture in it so it was too soft. Also tried their tiramisu desert **3 star: they didn't use real ladyfinger nor mascarpone cream in it, the coffee taste was too strong, pretty creamy though. read more

We came here on a random Thursday lunch about a month back. Service was good and we were able to order quickly. I wanted to try a couple of different things, so I decided to splurge a bit, although it still wasn't that expensive. (1) Insalata Italiana ($5) was excellent. All ingredients (avocado, mozzarella, tomato, and basil) were absolutely fresh, and the salad also included 4 toasted pita type bread and all was drizzled with olive oil. I'm pretty sure the salad was meant to share, but my friends didn't want any, so I stuffed it all in my stomach since I knew the ingredients wouldn't last the rest of the day. (2) Occhio di bue ($8.5) I wanted to try this dish because it sounded unique. It was pretty good as well. The egg wasn't too overwhelming, and the egg was pretty much cooked over medium, with the yolk just a little bit runny. Yum! My husband and I have been coming here since it opened. It's our "go to date night place". I've even gotten my best friend hooked. She and her husband will drive from Capitola to come here and eat their pizza. My favorite is the: Tirolese $14.50 -Pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, speck (smoked prosciutto), onion & blue cheese. Hubby and I will order one pizza and a side salad and split both. First time at this restaurant. We were on the fence between La Pizzariea and a new pizza place that opened a couple doors down. It has a very inviting ambiance and looked like it would have good food and we were well rewarded with our choce. It's a cozy restaurant with the promise of very authentic and thoughtful food. We started with a caprese salad, which was nicely salted (tasted like sea salt) and olive oil. We had 2 pizzas and 2 pastas to share around the table. All of which were delicious. The pesto shrimp pizza and the pasta special of orrechiette, proscuitto in a cream tomatoe sauce were awesome. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. The service was also very good. The waiter was very helpful and checked in frequently and even asked if it was our first time there. It was a great place for some artisan pizza and pasta. I enjoyed my experience at La Pizzeria. I sat outside with my two dogs and a friend with her dog. The waitress was very nice and took our order quickly. I ordered the four cheese pasta and it was very very yummy. We also ordered the cheese garlic bread. It look like a pizza with cheese and garlic on top. It was also very yummy and we could not stop eating it until it was all gone. My friend ordered a pizza and it was quite large for her to finish. I recommend sharing your pizza if you decide to order one of the many types of pizza they have on the menu. A big bonus was the Italian sodas they have on the menu. I ordered the mango Italian soda and it was very creamy very tasty. I cannot wait to try a new Italian soda flavor the next time I visit La Pizzeria. Overall I had a good experience at this establishment. I liked that I could bring my dogs with me to eat out on the patio. Campbell is a dog friendly place and this restaurant is definitely a dog friendly restaurant. My pups and I will be back to keep more yummy pizza and drink it Italian soda soon. read more

Decent Italian thin crust pizza. I went with a Roman guy, which means at least he has much more expertise than me in this type of dough;) He loved his prosciutto arugula (shared with me as it was larger than expected) and I did not dislike my mushroom ham one...although I would expect more sophisticated type of mushrooms (these were kind of like out of the box not fresh from the forest with different shapes, flavors and textures). Went to La Pizzeria for GNO. Our server was so entertaining and amazing! We weren't toooo hungry.. we came mainly for the alcohol and the garlic cheesy bread! We ordered some sort of pasta (forgot the name) that our server recommended and it was delicious! We came on a Tuesday night. We pretty much had the entire restaurant to ourselves! For a $20 pasta dish I expected either the flavors to be amazing (tasted like Ragu and the general dry pasta you buy from the store) or there to be a lot of it. I liked that they offer white or wheat dough, but I didn't like how they don't slice the pizzas. It becomes a messy fiasco when we have to cut it ourselves. The second time we came for a friend's birthday dinner and we ended up waiting outside in the freezing cold for 45 minutes for a table of 10 since they don't take reservations. That sucked. We waited because my husband and I had a good experience the first time so we wanted our friends to try it, but instead we left somewhat disappointed. For starters, we ordered the Antipasto, Garlic Cheese Bread, and Insalata Italiana. The Antipasto already comes with baked pizza dough, but the Garlic Cheese Bread was also just the pizza dough with garlic and cheese so by the time, we got our pizzas, I was sick of eating that thing! The Insalata Italiana was fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, and avocado. Not sure why they put avocado when it doesn't really go with the rest. They should just offer Caprese instead. Thin, subtle, the dough has not been sweetened, not overly salty, deliciously cheesy but not heavily so. It leaves you wanting more. I came in not so hungry and ended up devouring most of a whole pizza. This is the most authentic and delicious Italian pizza I have tried outside of Italy. I've had the best of the best in Italy (Florence, Rome, and many other cities). I've had a variety of styles throughout the US as well and of course you can't really compare Italian pizza to New York pizza to Chicago pizza. So looking at only pizza in the US that positions itself as "Italian", this is as authentic as you will find. Obviously there are subtle differences in the flavor of the flour used in Italy - and even the taste of the water used to make the dough. But it's almost negligible for all intents and purposes. This is Italian pizza. Compared with so-called Italian pizza served at Il Fornaio, for example, the pizza at La Pizzeria blows it out of the water. We had the Calabrese and the Margherita. I really loved the Calabrese... it wasn't very spicy but the flavors were rich and delicious and gave it that extra kick and bit of saltiness that I was looking for. The Margherita is not very salty, and because they don't add sugar to their dough like most American pizza places, the flavor balance is subtle and satisfying without leaving you feeling heavy afterwards. The service was excellent. The servers were attentive and kind. The wait wasn't too long to get our food. The ambiance is quite nice - it doesn't feel like a large corporate chain. If you're a thin crust fan, this is your spot! I really like this place. I would say this would be a great spot to have an intimate conversation, a nice dinner with friends, or even a date. The lighting is very dim inside and they have a pretty big selection of wine. Anywho, I've received great service here and don't have any complaints in that department. The pizza is good and the best way I can explain it is that it's rustic, authentic, thin crust pizza. I absolutely loved Pino's favorite! I saw the words egg, artichoke, and mushrooms and was sold! As you should know, I'm an egg slut. Throw an egg on it and I'm all over it. The pizzas are meant to be individual sized pizzas since they're so thin. I honestly can't eat the entire thing by myself. I'd say share a pizza, an appetizer, and some dessert instead of getting completely full off of JUST pizza. I want to try their anitpasto because it looks soooooo good. Definitely have to do that next time, as well as try out their other dessert options. I had the strawberry and nutella pizza and I didn't really like it. This quaint pizzeria is located in downtown Campbell. It has a small outdoor eating area and is nested in between a bar and another restaurant. I have always walked by this place but never tried it. They have a nice variety on their menu not just pizza. The Garlic cheesy bread and vegetable puree soup! is what I ordered along with the Italiana salad: Fresh basil tomato mozzarella and avocado it was Fantastic! Service was great. My BF and I came here for pizza lunch, we got a pizza to split -- spicy salami (marco and something) and then their specialty. The toppings fall off the breading way to easily. The top of the dough is not fully cooked, the bottom isn't burnt. The salami was not cooked. Kind of oily. What happened? Their pizza use to be really good! It was pretty hard to choose a Pizza because the options are all Italian style pizzas. Very different from what we have in the US. Probably not a good place to bring a kid that expects America pizza. A little waterlogged, but the flavors were on point! The salad was just OK, nothing special to it. Really happy to see the old location where Doppio Zero resided. Saddened they didn't survive COVID, but La Pizzaria was delightful. Friendly staff and great food. Pizza was authentic Italian. Wood oven pizza was chewy and tasty. I prefer more crisp on the crust, so next time I will request a bit extra oven time and a little more basil on the Margarita pizza. The deserts (including house made gelato) were the coup de grâs. Staff sat us outside and they already had Christmas lights up! Plenty of heat provided from the gas heaters. read more

Passed through on a Thursday evening and it was pretty dead. Staff was helpful and courteous. We ordered one gluten free pie, and one standard pie. All in all, we were not wowed. The ingredients are not fresh, and if they are, they are not that tasty (pretty dull). The gluten-free crust seemed store bought. The only thing worth noting was the dough on the standard pie was pretty decent. The price point is high, and even more so given this rather bland tasting pizza. The Sunday Campbell Farmer's market is literally steps from this establishment - you would think they would try to source some of their ingredients from them! With a competing pizza establishment doors down, we will not be returning, unfortunately. read more

Food was way over priced with a slightly larger than personal pizza being over $20 and cacio e pepe also being $20. Ordered the vegan version of a pizza and it came out with regular cheese, when we told the server they said they assumed we wanted the regular cheese version and didn't offer to fix it and just asked if we wanted to order something else (which would've been another $20+). Service was slow even though there was only 3 other groups in the restaurant. Decor was way cheaper than the prices we were paying and felt closer to a sandwich shop than a restaurant with $20+ menu prices for every dish. Food was okay but not at that price point.
