My favorite pizzeria in downtown Campbell! I've been coming here for years. It's located next door to Katie Blooms and across the street from the Socialight. This place is always packed at night, and with good food always comes many customers! Food: My favorite dish is the spaghetti bolognese, which I could eat every day! They slow cook the bolognese sauce to perfection and I've noticed that they've increased the portion a bit which is awesome. Back in the day the portion used to be small, but they give a lot more now! I also like their Margherita pizza, which is excellent thin crust pizza. I like thin crust pizza in this style, it's much easier to eat that super thick pizza and not as heavy. Ambiance: The dining area feels a little cramped, but what Italian restaurant doesn't? lol The lighting is dim like other people say but it isn't that dark. I've been to much darker restaurants where I had to use my phone light to read the menus. They have tvs from what I remember at the bar area. Service: I haven't had any problems with service here. Move over, Round Table! You ain't got NOTHING on La Pizzeria!! I've never really been a fan of your typical American pizza. It's too much bread and/or too many toppings. I'm always in search of a great thin crust pizza. And this place hits the spot! There are no Hawaiian and Super Combo pizzas here. I've never had pizza from Italy (but I hope one day!), but this place has got to be close to it! Toppings range from prociutto, blue cheese, smoked salmon and more! I've tried the Tirolese which has blue cheese, onions, and smoked prociutto. It was GREAT. Totally tasty without having too much crust to get in the way. There are also calzones if you want an inverted pizza. =P For those not feeling pizza, they also serve paninis for lunch and salad and pasta for both lunch and dinner. I've tried their Penne Quattro Formaggi which is a four cheese (mozzarella, fontina, parmesan and gorgonzola) penne pasta. It's full of flavor without being super heavy and overly covered by cheese and cream. There is about a $4 price difference between lunch and dinner prices. So for those on a budget, I suggest going there for lunch (about $10) instead of dinner (about $14). This place also features an extensive wine list for you wine lovers. =) They're also open until midnight on the weekends for you late night trekkers. Open until 10PM during the week. If you're into authentic Italian fare, then go try the pasta at A Bellagio, only about 1.5 blocks away, which is owned by the same owner as this place. Whoa; just total improvement! After writing my review for them, the manager apologized and sent me a gift certificate right away. I was a bit hesitant but finally decided to go back on Monday to give it another try. Our server, Nicholas, was apt to help us out. We ordered the Antipasto appetizer again and then chose the Pizza alla Francese. I noticed there was a different manager then the older gentleman in previous times and he was actually quite helpful with our server and didn't seem to be micro managing like the owner(?) before. The antipasto platter was delish as always and I was impressed by our pizza choice as well; perfectly cooked and just melt in your mouth amazing. Not going back. I love pizza. On this particular day, I was thinking that I really shouldn't be eating all that dough, but the only thing on the menu that sounded good to me was a calzone. So I thought for a long time trying to decide if I wanted to splurge and have all that dough . . . . that is the best part . . . to me. So I ordered it. It came out burnt. I HATE being the customer that sends food back, but I also hate being so disappointed. So I mustered up the courage to ask about the burned crust and the waiter said, "Oh, I can take it back and have a new one made for you." I was so happy, I said, "Ok great." Then he said that it would come out the same way because it is the kind of oven they have --- it sometimes burns things. That is just how it is. So . . . .I won't be going back because I don't like food that may or may not be burned. Just ordered DoorDash from here and was a little disappointed for the price (even without the service fees it's a little pricey). The burrata was okay and came packaged nicely. I also got the boar pappardelle and it was lacking flavor, but still okay. It was just missing seasoning. Lastly I got a four cheese pizza and it was terrible. I threw it away after one bite. The crust was good but the cheese kind of tasted like it was microwaved. Maybe dining in is better when it's more fresh? Might try again after the pandemic but won't be ordering takeout again. read more

La Pizzeria is one of the few places in South Bay that serves decent Italian style thin crust. The pizzas are good although not really spectacular. I like the overall taste and texture of the pies but was disappointed at the slightly soggy center. Ingredients seem to be of nice quality. Could use stronger tomato sauce but otherwise the flavors were good. Tried Prosciutto Arugola and Capricciosa. Both quite tasty. I don't understand why they don't slice their pizza before serving. The pizza is individual portion (on the large side) but holding a whole pizza is still rather difficult. It is a good causal place for friends get together but not exactly a romantic spot. Service was mostly alright but could be spotty at times when they get too busy. If I want a really good Italian pizza I would just drive further to the Peninsula or even to the city. Last night was my first time here and it was the best meal I have had in a long time . I started off with their Portofino cocktail...wonderful. Then I split the Caesar salad with my husband. Perfect dressing and perfect size to split. I couldn't decide on a pizza or pasta and randomly chose the spaghetti carbonara. Thanks to my fellow yelpers for directing me here! We were looking for a date night spot that was going to have great food and not too crowded and this place filled the bill. We split a Caesar and Prosciutto Arugula pizza. The toppings on the pizza were so flavorful and fresh, the prosciutto was perfectly cooked, not too crispy. The arugula was spicy and fresh. My only concern was that we were still a little hungry afterwards, which may mean each person needs to order a pizza, which could get pricey fast. I loved the atmosphere, it was so cozy and romantic. This was my first time here and it will definitely not be my last. My family and I came here to meet up with some friends and have a yummy dinner. The place is very quaint and inviting. It is one of those treasures that can only be found in Downtown Campbell. I ended up ordering the Pizza alla Francese which had tomato sauce, mozzarella, brie cheese, speck (smoked prosciutto), arugula salad, and parmesan cheese. It was so good! I must say that this place proved my bias against italian food. I always considered Italian food (even the ones we've had in Italy) just all hype. We had the Salmon penne and we all couldn't get enough of it. It was flavored with tomato and cream, but it blended well with the Salmon. For a pasta dish, I didn't find it too heavy or creamy. Since I moved to Silicon Valley from Tuscany 2 years ago, this is hands down my favorite pizza! Authentic, not sliced, thin or double dough crust. And prices are really reasonable. We have loved this downtown Campbell gem because they serve the most authentic pizza pies this side of Naples. Tonight we decided to take out some of their other menu items. Ok I know we should have gotten pizza but we were in the mood for pasta so went for that instead. So I ordered the penne salistica and my husband got the Spagetti Bolgenese. Well mine was supposed to be in white wine sauce and instead if had no sauce but had fresh basil, sundried totato, sausage that lacked some flavor and just extra olive olive will parmesan cheese on it. It tasted ok but I was expecting more of a sauce and way more flavor. My husband's spagetti was just ok and he said not that exciting. Portions were fine on them and they came by themselves so no garlic bread or side dishes at all. Prices were fair on these. The server was fine and came right away and took our orders and our food came out pretty quick. There was a family next to us that ordered individuals pizza that came totally late and they were not happy. They had to go over and complain and finally they came out. Pizzas looked not bad. One lady said hers was cold and thinks it had been sitting out while they were waiting for the other three to be ready. They said their pizza was really good! Decor was pretty cute and nice with dark lightening. They also had a huge wine list for folks that want some variety. I was not super impressed with the service of this place, but the food was pretty good. I ordered a pizza with prosciutto and arugula pizza which was quite tasty, although I wish they would have cut it for me because when I sliced the pieces with a knife my arugula got all messed up! Just a heads up- this is NOT a very stroller friendly restaurant. It was a real hassle trying to fit my niece's stroller in here, and a manager even came over and asked if he could put it in the back... Seriously? This baby is 1 month old. No you cannot take her stroller in the back...The adults would like to be able to eat. It's a little hard to do that with a 1 month old baby in your arms. I think his intentions were good, but he asked it in a very cold manner. So, parents, take a carrier in with you instead of a stroller if you can. Definitely five star!! We had a great night on Sunday afternoon there. My family and I felt we got invited to Rome with so much love and hospitality. A friend of mine used to live in Rome and he told the owner that the food he has tastes exactly the same. I am not a pizza lover but can't stop myself eating another slice . It was out of this world. Other dishes according to my family were so delicious. The sausages were house made . Most of the stuff had been made from scratch and so fresh. At the end we tried few items for dessert and all were so delicious, so Italian recipe , and light in sugar. The very nice lady the owner treated us with Limoncello the famous Italian drink at the end and it was absolutely nice of her for doing it!!! . La Pizzeria is one of the trifecta of Italian restaurants in downtown Campbell, and in my opinion, the best of the three. The pizzas are delicious and super close to authentic (according to some friends that have been to Italy). I have tried many but not yet all of them. The salads are also awesome. I love and recommend the caesar salad and the insalata Italiana. The only pasta i really like is the bolognese. They have a good atmosphere and semi- good service (meaning it's hit or miss). There is no air conditioning so it gets pretty warm indoors especially when it's warm outside and with their pizza ovens going. They try to prop the door open sometimes but that lets a bunch of flies in. All-in-all, it's a pretty good pizzeria with a full bar so I would definitely come back. We used to love coming here when the original owner was in charge but I have to say that things have changed a bit . Although the place got a little remodel, the quality of the food went downhill . The salads are blah - with the dressing served in oil and vinegar containers . The sauce on the tricolor penne seems different and instead of being served in bowls , it was served on a plate which just isn't the same especially when you are eating the smaller noodles . I was hoping La Pizzeria would be a Pizza Delfina for us in the South Bay but unfortunately, it didn't even come close. I ordered the margherita pizza with an egg. My crust was decent - thin, crispy with good chew. But, what ruined it was that the egg was overcooked. The point of adding an egg to a pizza is the yolk. Runny yolk does something magical to pizza, but this egg was basically a hard-boiled egg. My hubby ordered the Pino's Favorite with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, artichoke, Italian ham, mushroom, bell pepper & egg. The problem with this pizza was how soggy it was. The crust couldn't handle all the wet ingredients. Oh, and my hubby got his pizza after mine. I was already half-way done. The caesar salad was nothing to write home about. I wasn't a fan of the fishy dressing. Service was also pretty non-existent. They were nice when they were around, but we had to flag our waitress down to get the bill. I don't think my soda was refilled once. Also, the gingerale shouldn't be offered as a soda. It was ... bitter and way too syrupy. If you're ever in downtown Campbell and are craving Italian, you must check out la pizzeria! Such a cute little spot to dine at. They have both inside and outside seating, an extensive menu but not too extensive, and the staff is so attentive and kind. Chloe was our server and she was excellent. She was so patient and kind and had a lovely smile. It was my friends birthday and this restaurant really made this a memorable experience. Definitely plan on come back and letting others know about this spot. I've been coming here since the place opened and have watched it grow and change. It's always been my favorite place to go get authentic Italian pizza well before it became trendy. But over the past few years I've noticed the prices go up while the quality has declined. Tonight was an all time disappointing low. For starters it's always been a small place and I get that weekends feel even more crowded in there which is why I decided to order take out for my family because with kids, it feels awkwardly tight. I paid just over $110.00 dollars for just four pizzas and an appetizer. Normally I'd say this is over priced, but I get its family owned and I like that it's authentic. Here's where my review and experience goes south. I enter the establishment to not be greeted and have to dart towards the bar area where I flag down someone to ask for help with my take out. The bar area was crowded with people and there was no where to ask anyone for my order, so I tried pushing my way towards the narrow path in between the bar and tables. It's even more awkward here because I'm standing where people are trying to eat and waiters are trying to pass from the busy kitchen to the dining area. I was literally bumped into and/or tripped over about 8 times in a 5 min period. I felt so uncomfortable because while standing there I'm getting eyes rolled at by the wait staff trying to do their jobs and dirty looks by guests trying to eat their dinner while my purse is literally hanging inches from their heads! This frustrated me because I had just as much right to be there picking up my order as everyone else, so I tried asking again for assistance because I wanted nothing more than to flee the establishment at that moment. Once finally getting checked out and leaving my tip (which I almost felt wasn't even deserved because I was passed around by 4 people in the 10 or so minutes it took) I needed assistance finding my way out through the crowded walk way. The greeter was checking in two guests while I tried squeezing around them. I asked for help with the door because my hands were full just to be ignored by him and the couple whom where standing inches from the door. No problem, I pushed through them nearly dropping everything because I couldn't grab the handle. Finally made it home to be sadly disappointed by the stale Italian deli meats that had a tangy rancid flavor as if cut days prior. Our pizza bread that accompanied the meats was hard and clearly from the day prior and not warm and fresh. My daughter's Milanese tasted sour as well from the spicy salami that I think was stale. All in all, because of the bad experience, poor tasting food and high prices, I'm sad to say, we're going to have to find a new place for Italian style pizzas. I feel as though they should in some ways better accommodate guests that are picking up take out orders so that they don't experience this same issue. read more

The pizza was not cut (and trust me I understand there is a pandemic) but I still don't get why they couldn't cut my pizza your hands are not touching it. The pizza cutter is cutting it right, not bare hands???? Then I check my tiramisu and it's old and has mold. I called the place not because of the pizza but to at least let them know about their tiramisu. The person that picked up just said "oh no I'll let them know so we can get you a refund on the tiramisu" .... ok I guess you don't care about checking the rest of your food? I heard that Le Pizzeria started serving vegan cheese and much more vegan options! The dishes I tried were: Penne Salsiccia and Pizza Estate. Their vegan sausage was so flavorful and well seasoned and cooked. I was surprised about their non-dairy cheese and how well it melted. The garlic bread was good, just wish it had more garlic, duh! Our server was really sweet and the service was fast. The only con was price- I don't think a pizza should cost $19 with some cheese and a few tomatoes. Very nice staff and excellent service. The food, especially for the price, was wayyyyy below standards. For a $20 pasta dish I expected either the flavors to be amazing (tasted like Ragu and the general dry pasta you buy from the store) or there to be a lot of it. The cesear salad also looked like it came from the bag, like you buy from the grocery store. The parmesan cheese on the pizza and salad also looked like it came from a store bought container. Ordered a panini and pasta to go. Taste wise both dishes were good. But to go packaging was not so good. Panini was packed okay but pasta was not. The box was leaking. Also main issue was there was no cutlery provided. Was is one supposed to eat pasta without a fork (a spoon at least)? This should have been considered for to go orders. read more
