    Quesadilla A/C

When you walk into the shop it feels very homey with a fair amount of booth and tables. They give you chips upon arrival with spicy and mild salsa. The chips came out fresh and the salsa was delicious. Staff were very attentive as they refilled our chips and water without us having to say anything. I got the quesadilla which came with rice and beans. It tasted very homemade. Cheese was melted nicely, tortilla was toasty creating a crispy outer layer. It wasn't at all greasy which I liked. My boyfriend got the Patrick burrito which had a ton of flavor. Apparently it is one of the most popular items on the menu, and for good reasons. I'd definitely recommend if you are in the area.

I havent eaten at this restaurant in years. Which is strange because I always remember it being so wonderful. Im here to tell you, this place has not changed at all, its still fantastic. The waitstaff was welcoming and very nice. We were seated immediately, no waiting. The booth was super comfortable too! Service was quick and dinner came out piping hot and delicious! Don't worry about portion sizes. Even if you're hungry, you are probably still going to to have leftovers to take home.

    Nachos Grande

Had just ordered a small nachos grande for my mother and I to-go, and while they do taste fine, their appearance says otherwise. No lettuce, no tomatoes, barely any beans, and a bit overkill on the meat that could have tasted better. And while the interior was certainly okay, the wait for my order was quite long, at least for me. For just over $18 after taxes, these nachos were not worth the wait. I likely wouldn't recommend ordering from them during your next afternoon.

Outdoor area seems to only be for waiting in line. 8 booths inside along with seating for an additional 46 people. We were seated immediately at noon on a weekend but it is almost a full house. We opted to split a combination plate with a beef enchilada and a chile relleno. Chips - 9 Big and lightly crisped without being soaked in oil. Hot Salsa - 8 Spicy with an almost taco sauce flavor Mild Salsa - 3 Tastes like tomato sauce..mix it with the hot one! Beef enchilada - 5 - Taste like a enchorito from Taco Bell. Lacking in flavor Chile Relleno - 4 Not crispy, not a flavorful sauce Rice - 6 Not much flavor and slightly overcooked Refried Beans - 6 - Not much flavor but cheese helps Service here is amazing and the staff is super friendly. This is used to be the best Mexican restaurant in Orangevake. I can't recommend coming here anymore. Somehow the quality of the food has went down the drain.

Ever had a local take you to a wonderful little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Mexico that everything is homemade and delicious? Well, here it is! Family owned for 46 years. The food is fantastic and made fresh right there. The staff are friendly, polite, and very attentive. I wonderful place that I wish that I would have found years ago. We loved it!

I've been coming here for 33 years and they never disappoint! My kids grew up here. Their salsa (I love the original spicy) is my all time favorite. You must order their flour tortilla chips. And my go-to Chile Verde. We no longer live in Cali, but we make sure to stop here every time we come to town. And a special thank you to Terry. She's been working here even longer and is a reason why this place is so special.

La Placita has been serving the Orangevale/Sacramento region for over 35 years, and I've been bringing my family here ever since we moved into the area back in 1998. The food has always been consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices won't break the bank. It's no surprise the place is usually packed in the evenings -- locals know how good it is! My personal favorite is the Patrick Burrito Grande -- strips of steak with sautéed tomato, bell pepper, onion, rice, beans, and cheese. So delicious! Friendly service, authentic flavor, and a welcoming atmosphere make this place a true gem. Highly recommended!

Are there plans to open another larger restaurant?

I didn't read or listen carefully enough that the skirt steak with sauteed onions and bell peppers are covered in Spanish sauce. The sauce is actually quite tasty with a little kick. I used it and the salsa to flavor the black beans. However, I really just wanted grilled steak. I should have ordered steak fajitas, a grilled steak burrito or quesadilla, or a carne asada plate. The Steak a la Chicana was a generous portion, which is definitely 2 meals for me. Cilantro rice wasn't anything special. The SWEET CORN TAMALITO is yummy comfort. Choice of beans: refried beans, black beans, or pinto beans. I suspect refried beans is the tastiest option. El Tapatio would be a great gathering place for friends and family.
