Decent sized and very popular Mexican restaurant located on an older strip mall. From the outside, you would never know that delicious Mexican food is served at this longtime stabilized community gem. Upon entering the restaurant, you are transported to the type of restaurants you would find in deep Mexico. The paintings on the wall depict old Mexico, the bright colors are reminiscent of the shades you would find common in Mexico. Mexican music playing on the overhead speakers makes this a fun experience. The waitresses here are extremely hard-working going from table to table non stop making sure each guest is doing ok and ready to serve should you need anything whatsoever from the kitchen. My wife order chilaquiles w/green sauce and I had the desayuno macho which consisted of beans, potatoes, scrambled eggs in red sauce, avocado, and a cheese stuffed green chile. Wow!! My breakfast was near perfection! If not for so much sauce on my eggs, this was a 10/10 however, I truly enjoyed my breakfast, the hand-made corn tortillas and the large horchata. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you love Mexican food l

Been coming here for years however I hadn't been here for a few months- this morning my friend and I decided to stop here for breakfast and we immediately noticed the restaurant kinda empty - we ordered breakfast and as always everything was delicious! This time we ordered flour tortillas instead of the handmade corn and to our surprise the flour tortillas are handmade as well! Made our breakfast extra delicious. Waitresses remembered us and were very welcoming as always.. We were told during to the recent ice raids clientele has been less. I won't allow that to stop me from enjoying our meals here- food is always fresh.

Stopped in on a Sunday mid morning and place was packed, waited 10-15 minutes, but parking was bad... People doing laundry in the same shopping center so quite a few people double parking going on. My guy wanted queso fresco, so he ordered a half order with corn tortillas. Me.. Not a fan but the corn tortillas were homemade, so they were delicious. Chips and salsa was brought to us.. Salsa had good flavor with a spicy kick. Chipsaaa ahhh kinda stale tho, not gonna ruin my breakfast for stale chips. I ordered cafe de olla which was very, very sweet so had to top off with regular coffee, but it has good flavor. I ordered a chilaquiles plate which came with frijoles and potatoes. It was just warm when it arrived, so against what I normally do, I sent it back to get it hotter. My guy ordered the tamalero plate which came with scrambled eggs at first so that had to go back too cuz he ordered over easy.. NOT going too good at this point. When my guy unwrapped the tamales, it was thick with masa.. My plate came back hot, but this time eggs were runny with butter, not my style, so passed on that. Chilaquilles were good but not a fan of onions, they were in them and in the potatoes too, next time I will ask about onions. Oh, the waitress asked prior if I wanted guac and crema on them, so I said ok for the crema, but that was an added $1.50 on the bill. Hmmm, didn't see that mention on the menu.. Since I sent it back to heat up the plate, it must have melted or something cuz I didn't see it at all... Wasn't a fan, guess I'm still on the hunt for delicious chilaquiles and chips and salsa.. Oh well. Check out the pic's.. The ambience and service good, will try something else next time, if I come back.

I tried calling the establishment so I don't have to eat into my lunch break. When I arrived I had to just place an order at the counter. Their menu on Yelp is 11 years old so I had to update it to modern prices. I do prefer 11 year old pricing though. The place was booming and only a couple of seats left. Though I was ordering to go. It didn't take long for my order to get out to me which helped a lot. The tacos were crunchy and the shredded beef was good tasting. You get lettuce and tomato and with shredded beef and cheese. I'll be definitely going back this week to try what others have suggested at my workplace.

My moms brought me here, we were told 20 min, 20 min later we were told 20 more min. Which was fine because we heard this place was amazing. We ordered the queso fresco and tortillas a Mano, they didn't disappoint. I ordered huevos divorciados and it was really good!! The meat was so soft I really enjoyed that place, so did my son. Very good food, it was worth the wait. Definitely recommending this place and coming back.

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately they didn't live up to expectations. Heard good things about this restaurant. It's frequently busy and a local hot spot. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon. Fairly busy but we were seated immediately. Friendly service and vibrant atmosphere. Their menu is unique with items not found elsewhere. For example their gorditas. Those are hard to find so I had to have them. Too much corn and not enough protein. They also lacked flavor. Also tried their huevos rancheros,I've had better. Again no flavor and very bland. I did like their freshly made corn tortillas with a slice of Mexican cheese. Also enjoyed their coffee. I'll have to come back and try other dishes.

This has been my dad's favorite restaurant since I can remember and the servers are always super friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and the overall atmosphere is so calm and relaxing. I absolutely love their albóndigas soup especially after a long graveyard shift. I've been coming here for over 20 years

Okay, so let's face it, this place is a dive but that's what I love about Mexican Restaurants the good ones are usually dives. This place is getting 4 stars for the salsa, the fresh tortillas, and the close proximity to my place. I love this place, I took some time away from it when it was rated a C, I've eaten here at a B but c'mon a C that's crazy. I went a couple of weeks ago and to my surprise it was rated an A...yay! I went right in and shared the molcajete with my mom it was delicious. So come to Poblanas if you like authentic Mexican food :) read more

This is where Mexicans come to eat! Everything is authentic and the service is really good. I'm usually in for breakfast and I recommend the steak and eggs and beans...of course! They have hand made tortillas and great salsa. Watch out for the salsa...it's usually really hot, but worth burning your tongue. read more

Reviewing the mocahete bowl... bare with me here because if you havent had it you need to try it. It comes with a few different kinds of meat in this delicious red sace in a piping hot lava rock bowl. Do I need to say more? BTW the chips are awesome and the salsa is legit, very hot and fresh. Been coming here for a very long time since I was a kid. Sad to say that it is not the same. The tacos I ordered did not seem to be as fresh maybe because it was the end of the day. The only thing that is the same are the handmade tortillas and they are on point. read more

Meals taste homemade, right down to the tortillas hechas a mano and cafe de olla. What more could you want? My only critique is with their lengua plates...it is cut in thin strips, so you miss out on the tenderness. Everything else I've tried has been excellent, and I will definitely keep coming back for more! read more

I have been going to this location for years at least 15 and their other location so for some time I stood away the food changed and the staff so I just found another spot a lil further but its worth the drive so on the last 4 to 5 times its been ruff this place had good waitress and cooks but today I feel the need to write this the food is good and the Cafe dr Olla is excellent but the service we asked our server for sugar she said it has sugar already I mean if a customer ask for something you bring it but it didn't stop their refill took so long for my drink I just couldn't believe I had to ask 3 different servers few months back same place they actually took my plate before I was even done it seems like you eat and run our bill was brought with our food and that tells me a lot so we asked the server if they wanted the table she replied the owner he wants us to be pushy beacuse he has customer waiting so I got to hurry and push people out no comfort our manners today our server asked if we where still eating while I was still chewing my food I mean this is it I'm done for a long time I would hope the owner the lady is awesome if she reads this she will hopefully do something food is good but El pueblo in west covina is awesome and they never are pushy or rude I feel bad for the waitress here at la Poblana they are micro managed very bad read more

Really good food! Dont get creeped out by the guys hanging around outside the lounge next door. Chips and salsa when you eat in, not with take out orders. I just got a carne asada burrito comes with rice and beans. The shrimp cocktail was also pretty good. Good service too. read more

I love this place! My cousins took me there one time many years ago. After another invitation this year, I started going every Saturday for breakfast with my family in the last month or so. I'm obsessed with their tacos rancheros- meatless, nopalitos served on a green tortilla with a side of frijoles de la olla topped with a bit of cheese. The salsa there is delicious and so is the cafe de olla with hints of cinnamon. We always get half of a queso fresco with corn tortillas. The service is okay, but at least everyone is friendly. read more

So I live right down the street and I have been wanting to come here for awhile now. Finally on the way home from Baldy, Bond and I stopped by here cuz we were starving and it was amazing. The salsa is awesome and I had the carnitas, which I thoroughly(is that spelled right?) enjoyed.I am not scared by the C rating as I have traveled to many countries where the nicest places would barely get a C. And honestly I think the best places are the ones who get a B or a C but that's just me. Def.going to be frequenting this place. read more

This place has great tasting food, only complaint is the time it takes to get your food. Every time we come we wait a ridiculous amount of time on the table waiting for our food, eventually once it arrives food is delicious. Please improve your service and wait times as Im a local small business supporter and I would love to keep coming back. read more

Customer service was horrible. Waitress took about 15 mins to order our drinks. Took another 10 to bring out our drinks. Ordered 2 orders of cheese and tortillas when we first sat down, they took about half hour to bring out food. It was a very upsetting experience because we came with an intention to eat some good quality Mexican food and because of the service we were not able to do so. read more

A family fave. Tasty authentic mexican food for a good price. Homemade flour tortillas are deeelish! (depending on who makes em). Top 3 picks #1 Carne asada quesadilla #2 Huevos rancheros #3 Huevos divorciados (especially if u have a big appetite) Plates usually come w/potatoes I substitute them w/rice. Best coffee around! Im 100% mexican, my husband is a "pocho" and we both love it here!! Their chilaquiles with carne asada is a must have breakfast!! The Poblana's aguas frescas are delicious! We got the guava and the cucumber! I love it here. The service is alright but its always crowed so as long as I get my delicious food fast i dont really mind :) go ahead and try La Poblana :) read more

I am a regular here, I love their food and micheladas. I just don't like the service. Unfortunately I'm writing this review because my michelada was beyond spicy and as I try to explain to the waitress she denied that she made it too spicy and that it was premixed. But she did happen to make me another one that happen to be not as spicy. Smh, I will continue to come here just had bad service this times. read more

Came in had us standing while a few waitresses walked back and forth then finally sat us down brought menus asked us what to drink we both asked jamaica 15-20 min later another waitress showed up took our order then 20 min later we got our food my fiance waits for our deinks me i dig in to a very bland cheese enchiladas tasteless beans decent rice halfway 20-30 through my food waitress comes back and ask if we didnt want anything to drink i said yes we asked for 2 jamaicas then she says oh we dont have jamaica i ordered a coke and my fiance champurado well the "coke" was flat!! And champurado 1 was stupid hot (didn't burn ourselves we notice it was extremely hot and it tasted burned!!) And to top it all off my fiances chile rellenos had a piece of wire brush like the metal scotch brite brush the waitress just said sorry amd didnt charge the chile rellenos honestly i wanted to talk some shit but i just paid and left all honestly would never recommend this place for its tread full service and quality do not dine read more

Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. She barely ate anything, just about two pieces of watermelon and a small bite of concha bread. For that amount of food, I found the $17 charge completely unreasonable. When I questioned the charge, the waiter explained that because the food was put on her plate rather than being fed to her directly by us, they considered her to have eaten from the buffet and charged the full $17. He also mentioned that management is watching the cameras to determine whether children are eating from the buffet. Honestly, I find this policy excessive. I understand that buffets need rules to prevent people from sharing food or taking advantage of the system, but charging $17 for a 2 year old who ate practically nothing seems unreasonable. There should be some sort of reduced price or reasonable policy for toddlers, especially when they consume such a small amount of food. The food may be worth trying, but because of this experience and the way the situation was handled, I would think twice before returning. A $17 charge for what my 2-year-old actually ate felt ridiculous and left a very negative impression

i go to this place all the time, its really good food, they always have a special for breakfast lunch and dinner..they also have some good draft beers...blue moon modelo esp. and negra modelo..and the pitchers are only like 7 bucks ...breakfast is my favorite .hand made tortillas and queso fresco ..my grampa loves the beans and my mom like the mole and the garlic shrimp..i usually get either a molcajete or a shrimp cocktail n wash it down with a mechilada..now they have taco tuesday from 5 to close , dollar25 tacos and 2 dollar beers..the tacos are made with the handmade tortillas not the package one..makes a big diffrence ..but you have to try at least 3 of the salsas they put out..i can go on and on but ill let you check it out for urself. i gets good on sunday mornings and the lunch is sweet..check it out read more

Nice restaurant! I have been here once, in 2018, when looking for some dive bars in La Puente and Industry. Thus, when bar next door was closed, I decided to grab something to eat. The place, of course, is quite small. However, it is quite clean. The wait time, to get seated, is not long, since I came after lunch. The meals, of course, were delicious, and tasty, at the same time. It took about fifteen minutes for the meals to get cooked. However, they give snacks, during the wait time. Of course, this restaurant in total was on the expensive side. However, the meals were worth every penny. Definitely, if I am again in La Puente or City of Industry, I might visit this restaurant again. read more

Les dije que solo queria ordenar para llevar y me dijeron que si, luego otra señora me contesto solo para negarme servicio.. que horrible experiencia! Please stay away from this place, I got there at 8:30pm and the doors were locked, I called and told them that they're business hours indicated on the building stated till 9pm! It is a nice Mexican Restaurant, located in walking distance from one of my favorite gentlemen's club! The meals that they serve are quite delicious. However, during lunch time, there is not much to sit down. So, I would recommend to eat here before 12PM or after 2PM. Still, if anyone comes around that time, the wait is quite worth it! I have been here several times. However, I came here just before going to my club, or after leaving it! Hopefully, after this lock down is over, and I am in Industry. I will visit this this restaurant again! The prices, though, are on the expensive side. Still, they are quite worth it. read more

I always visit this spot for their café de olla because it's awesome! Their food is tasty and the menu is typical of a Mexican restaurant. The service can be slow if they're very busy. The only downside I know is that they don't have margaritas. read more
