First time at this resort. Let me tell you it's the most amazing place to spend some alone time, time with the special one or the family. Summer time can be a little hot, but you'll get use to it. I heard the winter time is so romantic because you can snuggle in your bungalow. If you play golf they have amazing golf courses. I played at the Mountain course and the greens were amazing and the views were amazing. The background of the resort and golf courses are breathless. This resort is worth the return at any time of year. If your having a wedding, bachelorette, bachelor, 50th or any special event, I would recommend this resort. Hope to see you there.....

Dunes Course designed by Pete Dye. Link style surrounded by amazing mountains and beautiful landscape. Some holes can be a bit challenging, but the forward tees are nicely placed. Friendly staff, tee times were running a bit behind, but play was steady. The grounds are breathtaking, water features, mountains, lush greens, rolling hills, it is a great course and well maintained.

    Beautiful views everywhere.

Challenging course that punishes you for errant tee shots. Bring plenty of balls unless you have PGA tour accuracy. There are some rough areas which are waste areas (hard sand) and long grass (90% chance of lost ball without spotters on the course). Bag service at the curb is an auspicious sign that this will be a great golfing experience. Golf carts have ice chests and water coolers. Drink plenty of water and gatorade as it could get pretty hot out here. Greens - great shape, which means putts roll true - smooth like a pool table Fairways - well manicured and narrow - lined with nice homes on most holes Rough - punishing with plenty of lost balls Water - water didn't come into play much - only private residence pools Driving range - 1st rate - balls and tees supplied - hitting off grass to grass landing area. Clubhouse - 1st rate, with a great restaurant/bar and top notch pro shop Dress Code - no cargo shorts or jeans and collared shirts only - C'mon, dress like you belong here

I played this course a couple of weeks ago... It was really fun, and I enjoyed the natural setting. The layout was exactly what I love about golf. They placed the course against the La Quinta foothills. You have a plush green course contrasted against desert mountains. I had booked the earliest tee time available, due to the increasing heat throughout the day. I arrived only to find their system was having a lot of trouble, even worst, they couldn't find me in their system. The manager/woman graciously made it work, and I was still able to wiggle my way in to the second group out. That by itself was enough to compliment the course employees, all of which were outstanding! If you have played many Pete Dye courses, he typically has ridiculousness large/ or deep/ bunkers and many sneaky challenges...This course is no different. The course was in good condition. Without hesitation, I would love to play it again.

I drove 2.5 hours to come play this course, I had a 9AM teatime so I left my home at about 6AM. It was worth the drive, the views are breath taking and the course was in excellent shape. My uncle and I played from the white tees and im not a long hitter (I average about 260 with my driver) but I managed to get around just fine. The greens were faster than anticipated but were in beautiful condition, overall I'd come back here for another round. We managed to finish our round in under 3.5 hours on a Saturday before Christmas, we actually ended up playing their dune course as well

This course rules. It's fun and challenging. Back nine and front are different and great. Wish I lived closer.

One of my favorite desert courses. Front 9 typical Pete Dye but...when you hit #14 you will enter the Cathedral of Golf! Enjoy!!!!

I would even rate this place above PGA West Stadium, which I played earlier this week.

The course itself is demanding, lots of waste areas that you need to avoid. The conditions were good the day we played. The greens were excellent. I think that the clubhouse is under construction, along with other improvements. They were serving lunch and breakfast. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito. I would definitely come back and see how it develops.

The beauty of the course, and I've played it several times in the past decade, is completely ruined by all the recent home construction which has obviously been left derelict for a year or more. Literally rotting frames of what look to be small homes or condos. Such an eyesore. The course is not well maintained except maybe the fairways on back nine. Greens are burned out everywhere. Ball marks everywhere on the greens (this is more on the customer than maintenance...but no one is even trying to clean up the mess obviously). Tee boxes haven't had a divot filled yet n weeks. As a well travelled golfer I expect a heads up when greens have been punched and sanded before I book a tee time...especially when I take the time to call and ask about conditions. Shame on you for wasting my time and money. I recommended this course to my friends who drive six hours for a weekend of golf. Almost $600 for a foursome at 2:30 in the afternoon. So sad to see the course struggling to provide value to paying customers or even preparing them for the disaster they are about to encounter. And to top it off some lazy marshal dropped by to ask us to play the front 9 again since it was playing so slow (5 1/2 hours round)...what golfer would chose to not play all 18 holes. Idiot. Less than one star review but that's not an option on yelp

This set of holes has to be the prettiest I have seen, as of yet. Traditions course is expansive and very well laid out. The greens are very well kept, as are the grounds around it. The houses that have been built into the course are massive as well as beautiful, boasting equally as scenic views from virtually everywhere. My favorite part of this course has to be the 17th, it is not for the faint of heart or those who lose their balance easily. The climb up is steep and rocky, and a bit scary on the way down as well. Once at the top, you will see what I am speaking of, a grand seemingly endless view of the not only the course but of the vast San Jacinto Mountains, and the valleys between the ranges. Is there a better way to spend a beautiful summer like afternoon in March? I sure can't think of anything. Except maybe to follow up a nice game with an old fashioned or two. Which is exactly what we did, on the lovely patio in the club house. Which provided more wonderful views for our party to enjoy while relaxing. If the opportunity presents itself I would love to make a return visit. Next time I hope I have the set of Taylormade's I have had my eye on.
