I've been here a couple of times and for the most part I like the ice cream but the other day when I came my total was $22 but when checking my bank transactions I noticed a charge for $30. They have a huge variety of items, ice cream, snacks, fruit, etc. The ice cream is great, reasonably priced and a huge serving! I ordered the Ferrero Rocher and the abuelita ice cream and both were so good. The only complaint I have is you really have no idea where the line starts or ends when it gets busy. read more

All I wanted was a choco-banana. This thing was prolly made a very long time ago. It tasted nothing like choco and barely anything like banana. I am so disappointed. I should have just bought the one at the market that was prolly made months ago, but tastes so good. Don't come to this location for a choco-banana. They don't make them fresh. I should have checked the supply because they had about 20 of them with nuts, coconut and with sprinkles. They were probably all flavorless as well. I'm totally hooked on The Real Michoacana! Their Tres Leches, Tequila, Gansito and my all time favorite Dulce de Leche ice cream flavors are amazing! Plus they offer a fantastic selection of traditional Mexican treats like Tostilocos, Biónicos and Esquites. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and the prices are totally reasonable. Service is always friendly and helpful. I pay with cash and leave them a tip. I think they have a 50 cent charge for credit cards but that's ok with me since I usually pay cash. Flavors are so good that it's really hard to only pick 1 or 2! My faves are the nuez, piñon, pistachio, fresas con crema, and the list goes on. Lol read more

I also love love their esquite, however during he day the corn isn't too hot, at night is when it's really nice and warm. The quality of their products is top notch and I love their products. This location always appears clear and service is usually good. I really hate that I even have to write this review because it's an establishment I really liked, but after tonight I will never step foot in this store. I went tonight and paid for my order with a single $20 bill. I didn't take a purse in, only that $20 bill which was the only thing I had in my hand. I received my change and the gentleman handed me back change as if I had paid with a $10. I pointed out the error and he tried to argue that I had paid with a $10. I had just come from the ATM and pulled that bill out of the 20's I received, so it's very very unlikely that the bill I paid with was anything other than a 20. I didn't feel like arguing, so I questioned him one more time to give him the benefit of the doubt and at that point decided just to cut my losses and never return. Also, their prices are higher than the other La Michoacánas in the area, just another reason not to return. If you pay with cash, double check the bill you're paying with and change you're receiving. Whenever I would ask something she would at me like I'm crazy for speaking English and when I tried to say something in Spanish she would still give me a weird and annoyed look. Very rude customer service. La Real Michoacán's in Whittier at the Quad, I went in asked for strawberries and cream. I asked the girl that was assisting me if she could put granola and coconut which I know granola and coconut usually goes on a Bionicle but I wanted it on my strawberries and cream. so the girl that was assisting me her name is Estefania and there was also a thick girl working in there assisting a gentleman. They both started whispering to each other laughing most likely cause of what I ordered, but that's what i wanted. The girl finished the gentleman's order he got charged. His change was two cents back. That's what he left as a tip. He also most likely thought they were being very rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't even give one star, but in order to post I have to.
