Three street taco meal with pinto beans and street corn.
    Jeremy C.

A friend had mentioned this place and we decided to try it out for Father's Day. I will say this is goi g to be a regular spot for us. The service was absolutely great. From the lady that seated us to our server. He was running the bar at the same time and was very good at his job. The food was so fresh and a ton of it. They brought out fresh chips and 3 different salsas to have with it. All three were great. Then when it came to our food, the tacos were so stuffed full of meat and well made. The is great inside and outside seating. We were there early but I am sure it fills up quick. We sat at one of the high tops by the bar and there was plenty of room for us.

Two Item Combo: Green Chile Pork Stew & Ground beef taco, sides-Calabacitas & Roasted Corn

My girlfriend and I came out to La Ristra (New Mexican cuisine) to celebrate Cinco de Mayo for lunch. It was my first time here, great location within a plaza of medical offices. Ristra refers to the preparation of drying vegetables and chile peppers on a string and I saw many of these decorating the restaurant. It was not busy at all at 12:30 PM and our server took amazing care of us. We sat in the bar area which was quiet enough for us to catch up. A trio of salsas and chips on the house came quickly, delicious flavors! I went with the 2 entree combo, beef taco and a pork stew with calabacitas (melted cheese squash medley) and roasted corn. The pork stew was delicious and packed a nice spicy punch. The beef taco, roasted corn and calabacitas were just average, but I finished everything because I was hungry. Overall, decent spot for New Mexican food!

Drinks were great, service was very friendly. I really appreciate La Ristra having a separate vegan menu! I ordered the vegan calabacitas burrito and the server said it comes with rice (which has beef stock). So I then asked for black beans instead. When my food came out the burrito was loaded with cheese inside and the beans had cheese on top. Very strange because I ordered off the vegan menu. I sent it back and they gave me the correct order. I was with a group of non-vegans and it's just uncomfortable and embarrassing to me for this to happen. If you're going to offer a vegan menu, the staff needs to be educated on what that means.

It was our first time here and we absolutely loved it!! Delicious food and amazing churro with ice cream dessert. The $5 margarita was worth it as well.

A friend recommended this place, so we stopped by for lunch. The service was wonderful, and Jacqueline answered all my questions about the menu. We love chimichangas and had to try them here. The portions were generous, so we needed a to-go box. The decor was nice, and we chose to sit in the dining room area, which was quiet and relaxing. The kids enjoyed picking out a toy from La Ristra Express box before we left. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

We had a great lunch at La Ristra today everything from the food to the service was fantastic! Carlo's was so wonderful he treated this place like he owned the place and Tatum was very sweet as well . We will definitely make this a regular spot for sure!

We saw this as an option for Arizona Restaurant Week and thought they looked good, and we were right! Chips and queso were fantastic, and serving of queso was gigantic. I really enjoyed my blue corn enchilada, the rice, beans, and beef were all excellent. Our server was very personable, and will definitely be back to check out the rest of the menu.

we order eggrolls which were amazing! The nachos were piled up and we like steak so it was plenty!

Jermey our waiter was great explaining the menu and giving us insight on all the deals! M-F specials/ Happy Hour 3-6pm ( $2 off appetizers, and $4-8 on selected drinks. Food was so good, I should've taken a photo prior. We order eggs rolls and pile of steak nachos

Brought the family here as we were talking about other great authentic New Mexican restaurants in the east valley. I had been here & to the sister location in Chandler a few times with coworkers/friends so wanted them to try out. The variety of tequilas are always a discussion point for us adults and I went with the seasonal Witches Brew Black Berry Margarita. I'm typically not a big fan of Jose Cuervo, but I did notice it was there Tradicional Reposado being used and that is one I can do. The 3 salsa's to start were good, however the chips we got seemed be the bottom of the stash as they were small pieces and made it hard to really enjoy the salsas. We did request another round and some fresh chips and that came right at the same time for our entrees. We had the Birria Tacos with rice and beans, Green Chile Asada Burrito "Christmas style" aka red & green sauce (my choice and it was GREAT as far as portion & flavor profile). 3 Shrimp & Avocado Tacos (recommended if your looking for a hint of seafood for dinner). Last item was a traditional Asada Burrito. It was noted that the meat was tender & good. This location is a bit far for me vs the chandler one, but I'm planning to keep in rotation as I want to check out some of the Happy Hour Specials and events they host. Ladies Night on Thursday had a few of my friends interested & Sat/Sun $20 Unlimited Mimosa Brunch from 10am-2pm may be the right way to kick of a weekend of College or NFL Football!

I went here with my daughter because a coworker of her husband recommended it. The atmosphere is casual and they have a pretty decent selection of meals. They start you off with 3 different salsas for your chips (which were warm...NICE!) I went with the shrimp tacos. It had good flavor and good sauce. Our server forgot to ask us for drinks, but I'm guessing it was because it was a little busy, so I can't really fault her for that. Otherwise we got our meals relatively quick. Price for 3 people wasn't bad. I'll probably give them another shot if I'm in the area again.

Do you have any dishes that can be made without seed oils (vegetable oil, soybean oil, canola oil, etc.)?

Yes we have lots of items that can be made without seed oils. The only items that you would want to avoid are our fried items.

I see vegan options listed in their yelp description but can't match anything on the menu. Are there vegan options beyond salsa, guacamole and salad?

Yes. There is a separate vegan menu, you can order from. It's not shown on the website.

Do they have a back room or similar for big parties (ten to fifteen guests) that want a little more space? If so, is there a minimum order for that room/area?

There is a side room next to the main dining room that appears to be flexible for larger parties. No notice on menu so I would recommend calling the restaurant and inquiring about reserving that space for your group.

I can't log into their website. Just keep getting a godaddy commercial. What's up?

Loging in is for La Ristra employees. Suggest that you call. Their menu is awesome. Ask for a Cadillac Margarita with an extra splash of orange juice. Perfection.

It was always full of tomatoes and onions, peppers and shredded meat, but on today's visit, I felt it was lacking all of the above. I will say the meat was seasoned well, but there wasn't much inside my burrito. Please see photos below. The Carne Asada burrito was a little bit larger. It consisted of pico, guacamole, beans, cheese, and grilled steak. The steak had a nice char on it. We each ordered a side of green chili. It was decent, but definitely did not have that New Mexican Hatch green chili flavor that I was searching for. I will say I do enjoy their chips and salsa. The salsa is chunky and a bit watery, but definitely has good flavor.

I warmed it up later and it was delicious a second time so no complaints. Excellent service, delicious drinks, and a fun way to spend the Fourth. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We arrived about an hour before closing and sat down as we normally do. While I was walking to the restroom, which is located past the kitchen area, I heard a server/bartender we've seen several times before ask the cook, in an obviously annoyed tone, if two people had just arrived. When he said yes, she responded, "Who the fuck!?" The cook then looked directly at me. At that point, I honestly felt extremely uncomfortable and wanted to leave. We decided to stay since my boyfriend had already ordered a beer, but the experience immediately felt different. We felt like our presence was an inconvenience simply because we came in an hour before closing. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. We ordered the beef skewers and a burger. The skewers were okay, but they were not nearly as good as we remembered them being. The burger, however, arrived completely cold. What makes this especially disappointing is that we used to really enjoy coming here. We understand that being close to closing time can be frustrating for a restaurant, but customers should still feel welcomed, especially when they are coming in well before closing and have supported the restaurant in the past. We really hope this was just a bad night, because we genuinely used to love coming here. But after this experience, we unfortunately left feeling very disappointed.

Blanco seemed like it would be a good choice, however I enjoyed it more than I anticipated. Sitting at the bar, service was pretty good. The bartenders were busy making drinks at times, but overall were attentive. The queso was delicious! We started with the appetizer sized serving and the chips were very good with a thick texture and good crunch. We saved some of the queso, intending to use it for dipping with the mixed grill fajitas we split. I will put that queso on anything, it's tasty! On the mixed grill fajitas platter, the carne asada was the item we enjoyed the least. The shrimp was definitely my favorite. Perfectly juicy and grilled, and had a great sauce over the top, it's labeled as spicy but I didn't find it to be too spicy, it just had a good flavor. The chicken was very juicy and then the steak was okay. I would definitely come back to try the short rib tacos, as other reviewers said were pretty tasty. Blanco reminded me of yummy Tex-Mex restaurants I've had in Texas, although its description is Sonoran Mexican food. Maybe it depends on the dish ordered. Either way, both are delicious food styles. And my rating reflected my overall enjoyment of the green chili queso, fresh chips & salsa, and juicy shrimp. I think the difference between 4-5 stars for me, comes down to having a nice ambiance, attentive service, and some items standing out. My cocktail was decent, however I wouldn't order that particular margarita again, I don't love mescal but I keep trying drinks that have it because I do like cocktails that have a note of the mescal flavor not the predominant taste. I did check with the bartenders before I ordered it and let them know, they said it's mild mescal taste, but I think it was pretty strong. We had missed happy hour by coming in 530pm, it ends at 5pm. I'd like to come back next time for HH. And thank goodness they are smart enough to provide free 2 hour parking in the Novus garage close by . That makes so much sense for customers. Some reviewers said the restaurant doesn't have any parking options besides valet. Unfortunately for me both were a little too spicy. I don't do much spice at all. The food came out quickly & hot. The rice was really good. The refried beans were good, but a little runny. Hubby really liked his tamales. My chimichanga was good as well. It was stuffed with lots of chicken, but the chicKen didn't have any seasoning.
