Tucked in the back of a supermarket is a great taco spot . Through various recommendations I came across this place. The taqueria has a good amount of seating & great service ! I got a to go order & was out fairly quick. Tried out tacos de asada , al Pastor , and lengua which come with grilled onion/jalapeños . I give this place a solid 9/10 ! Stopped in while in the area for some ketchup, but just as you walk through the door there is an abundance of pastries. We couldn't pass those up! The store is nice. Fully stocked. Has two places around the other side of the store for ordering fresh food. Had we not already just eaten we certainly would have there. The employees were very nice and helpful. Stopped by 1-4-24 to try there tacos de lengua everyone we know say there amazing. We checked to see what time they close and it says 8pm. We live 30 minutes away so we got there at 7pm and we walked into the grocery store and found the taco stand and it had a strap in the entrance and I asked the waitress if they where closed and she said yes but with a very nasty attitude and I asked I thought you guys closed at 8pm she was like yes but we have to clean that way we leave on time. Great small-scale spot in the back of La Rosita. My dad used to bring us here as kids for cheap, authentic, delicious tacos. So I am keeping up tradition and brought my daughter and gf. Got 1- Carnitas taco and 1- Carnitas (Both American style). Both were delicious. Great amount of meat on both. Carnitas was very juicy and tender with good flavor. Like how chopped the steak is. I feel like it makes a huge difference so you get very few, if not any chewy pieces.!! Good call. My daughter got the chicken taco with beans, cilantro, and limes. I came here hoping to find some fresh fish, no luck but I probably just didn't see it. Anyways, this review's sole purpose is just to vent how annoyed I am about being charged $2 more for some corned beef that was on sale. I know it's partly my fault for not checking my receipt right away especially after seeing Clerk 067 struggling with scanning it, but normally aren't you supposed to ask the customers too just to confirm the price and not select the highest price of corned beef? I didn't even wanna pay more than $4 for Prego, what makes you think I wanna pay over $6 bucks for corned when I could've gotten a better brand. I could be wrong on this and the product was just priced/placed wrong coz I've noticed that on some other products too. You know you're tacos are going to be good when a Mexican grocery store has a taqueria inside! Best place to go to in Glendale Heights and surrounding areas. This is a quick, pick up and go spot when you're in the mood for tacos! They have variety of tacos: Al Pastor, Asada, Chorizo, Chicharrón (green/red salsa), Tripa (upon request, not on their actual menu), Barbacoa & Cecina (weekends only), Chile Relleno. I think I may have left out a few. I was in and out in about 5-10 mins. They work fast! They have the option to sit down and eat your food. Perhaps that's an option if you're grocery shopping. They have more than tacos. They also do large orders on rice and beans. My wife and I have done that. I'm sure they can do large orders on other things. The best tacos I have found have usually been from a Mexican grocery store! There's a big movement out there for gourmet tacos and to escalate Mexican food. However, if you're looking for the real deal without breaking the bank, this is the place to go! Portions on the tacos are generous and they double up on tortillas. You'll not be disappointed. If there is a better value taqueria in the area, I have yet to find it. This gem is tucked in toward the back of the store (after you make the first turn past the produce). The food here is authentic and delicious. They generously fill each taco, which means that two or three will satisfy your hunger for a long while. They serve cebollitas and grilled pickled jalapenos to complement your order. I really can't think of any flaws with the execution here. Very impressive. Two other things - they do offer chicharrones in the sheet format here, though they don't seem to be a great value as compared to places like Carnitas Uruapan in Pilsen. Also, they have an excellent Mexican bakery at the front of the store, with an exceptional selection of treats. Grab a tray and a set of tongs, and go crazy. On August 2, 2022 I went to La Rosita - Glendale Heights to purchase Skirt Steak. I Told the butcher that I did NOT want him to trim the meat just to weigh & wrap it. The butcher cut up the length of skirt steak, ran it thru some sort of meat grinder. I discovered this today, when I went to put the skirt steak into a marinade. Let's put it this way, I NOW need to go spend another $40 on skirt steak. The meat that I have is un-usable for the menu I had planned. I called the store to complain, the person answering the phone needed to find someone who could speak ENGLISH! The girl claimed that no MANAGEMENT was in the store! A manager is supposed to call me back! If memory serves me correct most butcher counters are unionized, which means a member of MANAGEMENT Must be in the store during hours of operation! read more

Here's my taco review- this is my favorite taco place in the Glendale heights/Glen Ellyn/Bloomingdale area. Very authentic. My family loves the carne asada, al,pastor, and the lengua. I think the tacos are a bit pricey (abOut $3 each) but they are usually crammed with a ton of meat. Usually the tacos also come with some somplimentary roasted jalapeños and onions except when they don't :( We get takeout from here regularly and have had them stiff us on the roasted jalapeños a few times so be sure to ask. Here's my grocery store review- the store is clean and welcoming. It helps that you walk right by the bakery when you enter. The smell of fresh pastries and desserts envelopes you as you enter. There is a good variety of Mexican specialty produce too. The tomatillos and jalapeños are much cheaper and fresher looking than at Jewel but things like iceberg lettuce can be pricey. I'm not fluent in Spanish but have always found the service helpful and friendly (except the time I didn't get roasted jalapeños w my taco order). read more

Cant give more stars since I only shopped, I did not try out their restaurant. I was there to purchase meat that is, seasoned (adobada) and ready to cook and eat. I ordered from the butcher. They have a nice selection of meats and deli food. I was hungry so I also purchased the carnitas from the deli ( to eat at home) and I bought a salsa verde that was in the refrigerated section and I must say, it was delicious! They have a big bakery section, a nice selection of hispanic products, the aisles are big and very well organized. Their produced looked good from a distance. I didn't really look since I was there for the butcher shop only. Im new to the area and this is the first latin supermarket I venture to. I was pleased. Next time I will eat there so I can provide more stars (if deserved) and I can review the taqueria part. read more

I have been very disappointed with their bakery! I ordered a cake for my granddaughters baptism and when I went to pick it up they hadn't even started to make it. I vowed I would not go back but my daughter wanted a tres leches cake and theirs is the best. However, the design I ordered is nothing like what I ordered. Taste was great though. read more

I am a fan of Mexican markets for picking up quality meats and fixings for tacos/fajitas/margaritas. This market is a bit special because it has a 'full service' taqueria inside. The meat market/veggie market is very very good. The butchers are solid and the produce selection is top notch. The taqueria is fine but it's prices are higher than what I see at most similar places and the tacos are not as tasty. I've run the gamut on types and just haven't found anything great. I'll give a torta a try next time but for now, I'll just go here for meats and produce and not tacos. read more

This is a one-stop shop for AUTHENTIC MEXICAN groceries in the western suburbs. There is a taqueria, panaderia and neveria within the store that you can access for a la carte services. The grocery store has a carniceria offering cuts of meat that cater to Latino cooking. Carnitas were deelish! You can find a large variety of Mexican candy, Goya, La Preferida, Jumex, etc., products. This is not a five-star restaurant...but it is a five-star taco stand. This review is solely for the stand in the back of the restaurant and not the grocery store itself. There are about six places for tacos within a couple miles of me. This is hands-down the best lunch spot of them all. It's counter service in the back of a hispanic grocery store...there are some lunch tables in the space, but I usually get them to go. Service is very fast and primarily spanish, but definitely gringo friendly. I see some comment that the price is higher than others, but I'd say I typically order 3 tacos at, say, Javi's, while 2 is enough here. This is definitely a 1-$ place, not a 2-$$. I recommend branching out and trying some of the filling types that you're not going to find at Chipotle...the tongue is especially good, but it's a hard-sell on people who haven't tried it.
