My wife and I like this restaurant for many reasons. 1. The people who work here are happy to see us. Even when it is busy, people smile while they work. Amazing! I've met the owner and he is very friendly, too. This restaurant is so popular that they added a bar and more tables, so if you want to eat and drink and watch TV with others of a like mind, check it out. 2. The chips and salsa come quickly and are hot. They bring my wife the bland salsa while I stay with their regular salsa. No problemo! 3. The food is served hot and is yummy. I eat the bean burrito and it melts in my mouth. I love their chicken soup, which can be a meal all by itself. I also get the chalupa and it is so good that my wife now also orders one. She likes the chicken quesadilla they serve. There is plenty to eat, too. (Note: For those who like steak, I recommend not ordering that in a mexican or chinese or middle eastern restaurant. When I go to eat somewhere other than an "American" style restaurant I need to stay with the food that the people who are from that country eat.) The great prices are another reason we eat here. 5/5 y'all! Salsa and chips were beyond fresh. Piping hot chips and salsa was so fresh and had great heat to it. Quantity was huge. Ordered chicken fajitas for two (there's three of us at the table) and we still had left overs for lunch the next day. Mexican rice was amazing. The retried beans were great. Corn and flour tortillas were hot. Fajitas were sizzling. Best part: staff was knowledgeable about gluten allergies!! We had a waiter named Jose, such a nice kid. Go to Mexican spot for our family. This is my Mexican restaurant of choice in Douglasville. The prices are good. The food is good. The salsa is really tasty. No complaints about the service, although some of the servers are more friendly than others. I recommend getting the fajitas for two. I'm not sure why they have wifi. I guess it could be useful on your phone, but it isn't the kind of place where you can bring a laptop. read more

I've dined here more than 10 times over the years. My last visit about 2 weeks ago was the worst. We sat outside and noted a handwritten sign relieving the restaurant of any responsibilities of the bugs. I thought, it can't be that bad. I literally had to eat with one hand and constantly swat away flies with the other. In a world where the divide between upscale eateries and everyday eateries seems to be increasing, La Salsa stands out as an everyday Mexican restaurant. My Mexican restaurant of choice seemingly took a nose-dive as most others have in recent years. With combination platters in excess of $10 and quality in preparation and presentation lacking. The days of having cheese or cheese dip proportional with the entree it's being served with seemed to be in our past. La Salsa's food is fresh -- no 2-3 day old rice being served. The chips and salsa were fresh and delicious! The quality of the ingredients is apparent in the taste of the taco shell and the cheese packed in on top. The enchilada and the burrito were both top-notch and covered with delicious melted cheese. Service was excellent and, even with the packed restaurant, our drinks and food both arrived promptly. I opted for the lunch special #1 that came with a taco, enchilada, burrito, and chalupa for less than $8. We will be back!!! read more

I've never not gotten great service and the food always taste fresh. It doesn't taste like it was cooked the day before or that morning and reheated when you arrive, which seems to be common with most of these type of restaurants. Worse than your average faux Mexican fare. The chicken on the fajita nachos was overcooked and dry. The chips were fried in old oil -- saturated with funky grease. Flour tortillas weren't bad. Margarita tasted like a wine cooler. Asked for a side of lime juice and received a container of oddly glowing, sweet, green syrup. When we asked if it was lime juice, the server said, "Yes, it's what we use on the rims of the margarita glasses." Clearly *not* lime juice. Weird. I asked for a "Don Julio, Anejo" margarita, I was told it would cost $20.00, the cost was not a problem, the 27 oz margarita probably had 1 shot of Don Julio. I'm only speaking for the La Salsa on HWY 5 Douglasville, I've visited others and they were not very good, But the Douglasville La Salsa has always been outstanding. no better frozen Margaritas anywhere. I used to love this restaurant. After today I will never go back. The waitress was rude and she rolled her eyes and would look away because my friend I guess was taking too long to order. After that she would hardly wait on us. My toddler was holding four sugar packets (two in each hands). The manager made the waitress come over and tell me that he was not allowed to play with them. The overall experience was just bad. What really made my decision to never return was when I told the manager that his restaurant was the only Mexican restaurant I wanted to eat at, but after this experience I will not return.
