We ordered chicken franceisa , chicken Parma, and 2 slices of pizza, along with order of zeppoles. We had high expectations for the chicken franceisa... we got home opened up our bags and realized our chicken franceisa had a mix of red spaghetti sauce, along with the white sauce, (chicken franceisa is with white sauce) red sauce is optional. And the gurl didn't bother asking if we wanted red sauce in our pasta... We were , why anyone would mix white sauce with red spaghetti sauce,?? it looked like a big jumbo soup of a mess. So of course it didnt look appetizing , so we called and complained. Also, my zeppoles were cover in regular sugar... instead of powder sugar??? So when we called a young girl answered , instead of listening she tried to send us white sauce along with powder sugar on the side... we were like what?? It didn't sound right or helpful. Plus we paid cash.. they don't even take credit cards.. Funny business! Anyway the delivery guy came by with our replacements meals. "But guess what they took our originals meals back?? That lefted us feeling insecure with uncertainty feeling that doesn't seem right. We sure ain't ordering from this place again..!! God's know if the spaghetti we got@ first, were from another plate or pervious order. Came here after reading the review on Slice, and glad I did! After a decent wait in the street, was seated with my two dining companions at a nearly-communal table, surrounded by real Jersey paisans. Along with my dining companions, ordered a full Palermo pie - it's a square pizza with an almost-fried crust, cheese, and thick sauce to top it off. We pulled that coy "Oh! I would give a 5 for take out only because their food is truly amazing. Their Palermo pie is to die for, however if you are dining in, it may turn you off. I didn't have a pleasant experience, service was suuuuuper slow and there weren't even many patrons dining in, the waitress seemed to be aggravated that she had to wait on us, I mean I know everyone has their bad days but it was just disappointing. the Palermo Pizza is hands down MY favorite thin crust pizza , Its the tastiest piece of heaven on earth pizza you'll ever have. Pete and Elda's in Neptune also has a great thin crust pie if you like a crispy cracker type crust but the Palermo is real Italian different (in the sauce) and IMHO better! Everything else on their menu is great authentic Italian style cooking that's why its always crowded everytime we've been there. read more

Im 100% italian and usually do not enjoy any type of macaroni or gravy from most pizzerias. La Sicillia however is fantastic, there food is absolutely great. I'll be the first to tell you when I saw this place I said to myself, "not what I thought." I was WRONG. The place is not eye candy visually,but the food more than makes up for this. We went for dinner; myself, the wife and son. We started out with the stuffed artichoke- it was ok. The stuffing needed more flavor, but it passed. Our entrees were good though. My wife had the Rigatoni San Remo that was delicious- eggplant, olives in a tomato cream sauce- I actually finished it. I had the Shrimp Fra Diavolo- the sauce could have been spicier,but that might have been my fault for not asking for more heat. The marinara sauce is really good though. It has all the flavors that should be in a good sauce. It is a BYOB, which is a nice thing. I will say what I noticed was the clientele- mostly italian, which is a good sign and by the time we left, which was 6:15pm on a Saturday, there were people waiting. It's old school food at good prices- that can't be beat! We'll go back. I'd recommend. read more

Ordered the Palermo after reading the reviews. The outer slices had crust that was burnt and the inner slices had crust that was mushy and soft. Definitely would not recommend this pizza or restaurant to anyone. Very disappointed! read more

The service has been getting worse and worse. My friends and I have been going to La Sicilia since the beginning of our nursing school. A particular pasta dish has always been my order for years. The service now is not only the most unwelcoming but the rudest I have ever experienced or witnessed. Being seated and then getting welcomed with plates and napkins thrown at you then getting yelled at in front of the entire restaurant about a possible misunderstanding of my order, which is normal. However, raising your voice at a costumer about the issue and then asking "So what do you want then?" is not the type of customer satisfaction a restaurant should ever display. Like I said, been going here for years and the service has just been getting to become the most unsatisfying or welcoming. read more

A Coworker of mine is a frequent flyer to your restaurant and she highly recommended it, so i gave it a try. I came in with my boyfriend and his daughter Saturday the 20th, very very busy restaurant ( which is a good thing) .. I'm not one to write a review, i yelp everything BUT this time I really wanted to just voice my disappointment. Upon arrival they ask us if we had reservation, had i known i would've called ahead but we didnt. So there was a wait, which was fine. We got seated, the host/waitress/busboy (an all in one person), took our drink orders never came back with it, but dropped off butter with NO bread.(THIS IS 45MINS OF US BEING SEATED.) THAN a family of three came in and were seated at a table next to us, who got EVERYTHING they ordered before we even got any of our entrees, who also eft before us. As aggravated that i was, the reason why we didn't leave was because my boyfriend's 12 year old daughter saw a dish that one of the waitress placed on our table because it was too hot which made her really hungry and wanted to order what she saw! So we stayed through it all. Given the food was good, being new to town, i would've definitely return back, but i was way too disappointed, so no I'd rather take my business elsewhere. read more

The food is great but the service for sit down meals has drastically deteriorated. I've been eating here for almost a decade and the last few visits have been horrible possibly because we got the same server - she took a long time to take the order (despite the fact that its not busy), barely stuck around to make sure we had what we needed, and gave us the check even though we were in the middle of our meal. So I read all of the reviews on Yelp and decided that this would be a great place to order from. I called and ordered a Palermo pie which seems to be the hot item. Sorry folks, they do not take credit card...I'm OK with this, though I will point out that most places will take a card over the phone. Anyway, it took an hour and twenty minutes to deliver the pie to me (I live in the same town) and upon arrival, the pie was soggy and cool...I would imagine that they had a lot of deliveries and mine was at the end of the list. I was quite disappointed, however even though the cold pizza came so late, I still thought the taste was good. I don't believe in giving bad reviews, as it hurts business and we don't need that right now. I'm going to order from them again in hopes that I can give them the five stars that everyone else awards them with. read more
