Delicious food and normal service but the prices are meh. My beef taco combo w a medium drink was $17, not really worth it

Steak plate, off the chain. It was raining today, first time here. This hit the spot. Those little peppers are hot. Great food and service. Breakfast all day. I'll be back. Thanks.

Drove by & decided to sample this place by trying their taquitos (rolled tacos). Disappointed that it was a total of $7.20 for only 2 taquitos & the filling was barely meat mixed with carrots. Expensive & nothing great in my opinion, especially to see there was shredded carrots inside the taquitos. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their food though. A hit for some but a miss for me.

Updated review. I've been coming here since I was a kid! Still just a delicious as ever. The owner, Paul is so nice and accommodating. The cook has been here for years and I just love everything that comes out of his kitchen. I've posted updated pictures of the menu since I've noticed there were no recent pics. Please support this small business in Orange. Note they are only open for breakfast and lunch.

Small little business that is a very clean and awesome place to have a large size meal! The owner and his waitresses are super friendly upon arrival. I had a few questions and they all helped by giving them their opinions. They also have specials on a board on the wall and tbh, not a bad prices! Super affordable and large portions as mentioned above. Order me red chiliquiles with two sunny side up eggs, beans and cheese with their salsa on the side. Also a sausage breakfast burrito with eggs cheese and potatoes. A side of pico de gallo and another salsa for my bff. Everything was super delicious ! And their salsa, woooooaahhhhhh fiiirreeeee fresh hot, really really delicious. Next time we will come in to eat there. :) I want to try their soups

This spot is in a little strip mall and you pay at a counter. I didn't like that they use styrofoam for everything including drink cups but it is what it is. They have a couple tables outside which was nice but the inside was fine, if not a little close together. The food was yummy, their salsa is good, and the service was good. Highly recommend

I absolutely love La Siesta! Their chips and salsa are to die for as well as their crunchy all-white chicken tacos. I'm hooked!

I ordered the same meal, the veggie tacos, and they were nowhere near as good as the first time. After staying away for a long while, we decided to give Gabbys another shot, but once again the food was underwhelming. This place just seems very inconsistent, and the service was mediocre at best. My wife ordered a steak burrito, and when the food arrived, the burrito had no meat in it at all. She had to send it back. It's hard to understand how a steak burrito goes out without steak. It also feels like everything is pre-batched, which takes away from the quality and freshness. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, I personally would not recommend this place. The food feels very Americanized and lacks the traditional flavor and quality you'd expect from authentic Mexican cuisine.

The beans did not taste watered down, and the enchiladas themselves were flavorful. I always worry about shrimp overpowering the sides of a dish but it tasted great. The rice was also really filling. We had a reservation and they seated us at a pretty big table, which I liked. The servers were very timely, kind, and knowledgeable about each dish on the menu and the rotating specials. The inside of the restaurant was HUGE. I'm pretty sure it was built inside of a church. I really liked the stained glass and elevated seating areas nearby, it reminded me of the Old Spaghetti Factory layout in Fullerton. Overall, I had a very positive experience. I had to get a Diet Coke and of course, it was crisp to my expectations. A little heads-up, unlike the Costa Mesa location, they do not have horchata. Nevertheless, I'd come here again to try their burritos, tostadas, and salads!

When we got there, I let the server know but it didn't seem to matter because he didn't ask my name or time, he just seated us. That works for me! Glad we didn't have to wait, we had to make it a fast meal! We waited about 5 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. I had seen they had just started serving the soft serve margaritas on their IG and I was SUPER excited to order one! I asked our waitress (Rosie) what flavors were available and she had to ask someone else. Ok, no worries, they had mango and strawberry. I asked for a swirl. My husband ordered a shot of patron anejo sherry cask. She did not seem to understand what he was asking for even though it was an item listed on the menu. He repeated himself a couple times and even pointed to it on the menu before she said "I'll have to check with the bar" she took the rest of our order which consisted of another cocktail, the empanadas, and an order of enchiladas. She left for a bit and came back saying they had his tequila. Then another waitress came back a few moments later asking how he wanted his tequila. After our order was in, we received our chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious! Not too long after, my empanadas came out and they were overdone. Burnt. The pastry was bitter, but not just because it was overcooked, but because it seems like the oil was old. The filling wasn't what I was expecting, but it was tasty. My husband's enchiladas were good. I had one bite. After our meal, husband ordered one more cocktail and the dessert chimichanga. Same bitter oil taste on the chimichanga, I wasn't a fan. When we were brought the check, it turns out we were overcharged for the tequila. We brought it up to the waitress and she told him he ordered a different one when he had repeated "patron anejo sherry cask" to her multiple times. I don't even know if there's more than one sherry cask tequila on the menu! Anyway, she was able to adjust the bill to charge us for the correct tequila but the husband still didn't get to drink the tequila he wanted. Oh well.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well. Highly recommend if you're near 728 N Tustin St in Orange! Pair it with an horchata, yum
