The whole shower has to be re-tiled and the shower glass removed and replaced. Estimate is upwards of 15k in damages plus loss of use of this shower for who knows how long. Eric should have known better than to upsell me on the full regrout if he was not confident in his work.

Originally I called him last month to regrout outdoor stairs tile. In the course of removing the…read moregrout , he said that the underlayment was water damaged and he removed 5 treads of tile to explore and possibly replace the undergarment. It was water damaged, and the risers and the treads had to be replaced. However, he "doesn't do wood "so I had to engage someone else to replace the plywood on the risers and the treads, which I did. He returned and we went jointly to Dahl tile to have me buy some Triton water board and some red guard for waterproofing. He wanted me to use a Schluter metal edge guard as opposed to replicating the original 45° mitered edge where the riser tile and the tread tile come together in a grouted joint. That design change ( which is easier on the installer) would result in a metal half inch rim /strip running across the top of all the stairs risers . I have quite a bit of this tile inside and outside my house and it's all done in that tile edge to tile edge fashion without an intervening and visible metal strip He said he's unable to adjust his tile saw to that 45 degree angle and was not gonna be able to apply the tile in the original angled edge to angled edge configuration withOUT the Schluter edge. I asked him why he's telling me after he had removed the tile and a visit to the Dahl tile that he could not install the tile in the original configuration . He became annoyed and agitated and essentially walked off from the job site at 10am with the removed tile and 5 buckets of trash and a stack of unused triton board that I had paid for (that he did not fully install ) .,,,, just sitting there on my patio I never heard from him again. I never had anybody walk off a job site like that , especially after getting that deep into the job. Maybe he is good with grout repair ... Doubt I will ever know .

I brought in several Crate & Barrel curtain panels valued at approximately $900 for dry cleaning. Because of the cost of the curtains and the fact that they were in excellent condition, I specifically asked the owner, Sam, about potential risks before signing the waiver. During that conversation, Sam told me that pilling was a possibility, but he also stated that he had never personally encountered a situation where a customer's curtains experienced an adverse outcome from the cleaning process. He reassured me that everything would be fine. At no point did he mention shrinkage as a potential risk. That distinction is important because if I had been informed that shrinkage was a realistic possibility, I would not have proceeded with a nearly $400 dry-cleaning service on $900 curtains. I would have simply replaced them. Unfortunately, after cleaning, the curtains no longer matched in length. Panels that previously pooled slightly on the floor are now hanging approximately 3-5 inches above the floor, and the lengths appear inconsistent from panel to panel. In addition, the curtains appear to have been pressed improperly. The fabric no longer hangs straight. Instead, the sides appear narrower near the top and wider near the bottom, creating a noticeable billowing or hourglass effect. When I raised this concern, Sam acknowledged that the pressing issue was human error. I should note that I was unable to pick up the curtains for approximately a month due to a medical emergency. However, the condition of the curtains upon pickup does not change the fact that the shrinkage and pressing issues occurred during the cleaning and finishing process. What ultimately prompted this review was not just the outcome, but how the situation was handled. I spent approximately 20 minutes on the phone with Sam attempting to discuss the issue calmly and professionally. Rather than addressing the specific concerns I raised, he repeatedly insisted that I had been warned, despite the fact that shrinkage had never been mentioned. The conversation frequently drifted into broad generalizations about waivers and customer responsibility rather than the specific facts of what had been disclosed to me before I signed. When I explained that there is a meaningful difference between being warned about pilling and being warned about shrinkage, he maintained that shrinkage fell under the general umbrella of possible damage and that he could not be expected to list every potential outcome. I disagreed. When a customer specifically asks about risks, they deserve enough information to make an informed decision. I also found it unreasonable that I was told I could receive either a $50 accommodation for the shrinkage issue or have the curtains re-pressed to correct the acknowledged pressing error--but not both. These are two separate issues. One relates to the cleaning outcome, while the other relates to admitted workmanship during finishing. Perhaps most disappointing was being told that providing any additional accommodation would essentially amount to "running a charity instead of a business." After spending nearly $400 on the service and receiving curtains that no longer fit or hang properly, that comment felt dismissive and unnecessarily insulting. Had Sam simply acknowledged that shrinkage should have been discussed, shown some empathy, and worked collaboratively toward a reasonable solution, I likely would not be writing this review. Instead, I was left with damaged curtains, no meaningful resolution, and a conversation that left me feeling unheard and blamed for an outcome I specifically tried to avoid by asking questions upfront.

So, I felt it prudent to copy n' paste the review I already put on google, since Yelp is being weird about allowing selective reviews... Here's what I put on google, hope it makes it onto yelp: I've had crappy services in the past with a lot of things. Jeff is not even close to crappy. Everyone on here is absolutely right. I keep reading "top quality", "goes the extra mile", "responsible", "professional". I could probably go on and on with more adjectives about Jeff's services, but honestly: his fair prices for the super high level of service he provided puts the prices from fair to basically a steal. I'd expect this quality of service, professionalism, and thorough work from very expensive cleaners that service areas like Beverly Hills and Malibu, Palos Verdes even. I have his number saved in my phone now, because he is DEFINITELY worth calling on again as a first call, even if it's just a long shot that he can travel that far. Just had my carpets cleaned by Sunset Carpet and Tile Cleaning and I could not be more pleased. Jeff has been so accommodating with my schedule and with the fact that the prior tenant left the unit without cleaning. Because the prior tenant did that, I had to move my belongings in even though the carpet wasn't cleaned first. Jeff was amazing in accommodating me as I had to repeatedly move my belongings from place to place to free up carpet space for him to clean. And yes, he helped move things for me, too. Jeff at Sunset Carpet was OUTSTANDING!! I 1 (thousand) % recommend Sunset Carpet to clean your rugs and carpets!! I had some really tough and dirty stains in high traffic area in my living room and bedroom and Jeff was able to get them looking as good as new! Jeff said he would let me know 30 minutes before he was coming within the 1 hour window he gave me, and sure enough we spoke and 30 minutes later he was there ready to get my carpets clean. Sunset Carpet is reliable and honest. Jeff also had given me a quote on the phone after I told him the size of the area and the level of dirtiness that needed to be cleaned and his word was true and I knew what to expect. I searched for two days trying to find a place that cleans floor tiles and no matter what I looked up I couldn't find anything until I finally put in carpet and tile cleaning and I found sunset carpet and tile. Jeff came over and clean my carpets and the tile that was so badly smelly from puppy urine that I could hardly stand the smell he took his time was considerate and gracious and respectful of me and my animals and did such a terrific job that I will have him back many many more times I highly recommend him and hope that you will call him too. We've used Jeff at Sunset a half-dozen times, now. He is kind and hard-working. He seems to genuinely love cleaning carpets and is always trying out the latest equipment and sprays. By now, we trust him to clean the carpets without giving us a quote first. He does the work and asks a fair price at the end. Sometimes we pay him more than he asks, because we know the carpets were extra dirty. Our stairs take a particularly long time, and Jeff always puts in the extra effort to get them clean. Gregg was very personable and honest. He would not sell me anything I did not need. Once he arrived, I actually had him do a couple extra things for me that he had no problem adding with only a slightly higher price than quoted. Our old carpet looks really good, and the dirty stools are much cleaner than I could get them when I tried to do it myself. I would recommend this Sunset Carpet Cleaning to my friends. read more
