The first person I spoke with was rude and I definitely didn't want him to even THINK about touching my skin. The second person I spoke with was much nicer, his name was Anthony . They don't take cards, cash only. They have an atm in there so , there's that. I got "everything will be okay" in red writing around my ankle and it was $200. We were enjoying a night in Hollywood when we passed LA Tattoo. Luckily they had three artist available and there were three of use looking to get matching tattoos. I went with Delmar Sepsey who was incredible. He took the time to understand the story behind my tattoo and took my vision to a whole different level. Delmar was incredible. His artistry and light touch made all the difference. This was my 12th tattoo and I he was so good that I didn't realize I was done until he told me he was done. Late last Saturday night when I got bored I did what everyone else does, snag a few drinks, wander around, and then go get tattooed. I mean what else is there to do? What, did you say go to sleep? Yea right. When my friend wanted to call it quits I decided 1:00am was far too early to be heading home, lucky for me Yelp said there was a four star tattoo shop right up the block. I was already in Hollywood so why not? You aren't supposed to be drunk when tattooing and conveniently I was just pleasantly buzzed. I rolled in, looked at some books, and decided it was about time I got a little something to commemorate the city that I'm from. I keep moving all over the damn place; Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, so I'd been meaning to get "Milwaukee" represented in ink. What if I forget where I'm from? Well I guess that's no longer an issue, is it.. I spoke with Albert, one of the artists, and told him what I was looking for. He was a real cool guy, he drew it up on the spot, adjusted it to my liking and voila, I walked outta there around 2:00am paying less than I'd expect from a Hollywood Blvd shop. Both Albert and the other artist were really chill. We shot the shit, talked about crazy fools out on the boulevard, I watched them physically remove some troublemakers. Good stuff. Truth be told I'll probably be back, it's only a matter of time before my mind wanders off and I decide I feel like getting something new. Joe was the worst tattoo artist ever. The owner was completely insane and rude to his shop needs to be shut down. I'm currently paying appointments after appointment to get the piece he tatted on my chest removed. If you think he's great then you don't have good tattoos or they are not real pieces. I am taking this store and it's artist to court over my horrible tattoo and my horrible experience. I walked in looking for a good tattoo at a good price like listed on many reviews an the artist they gave me was horrible I don't even think he should be allowed to tattoo I wanted a simple king crown over a initial and I got what looks like a child's tattoo. I demanded my money back to afford getting it removed as I was granted the $$ back they still were arguing with me an my fiancé about the horrible tattoo. They take my phone number to give me a call back and the OWNER PRETENDS TO BE JOE an starts telling me I'm playing them because I want my cover up paid for, when it's his artists fault He screams that I should have taken a free cover up instead of my money back but at that point in the shop I didn't feel comfortable as a female being tattooed there after what the other artist said and how I was treated an I have manny tattoos done by males, the owner then stated yelling how he "could bring in a white or black or female artist what ever I wanted" all because I had stated another girl will be the one covering it up. I decided to go to another piercing shop to show them my tongue and they told my that the girl who pierced me did a really bad job, the piercing wasn't even straight and the jewelry that she used was really bad quality. Thank god I took off the piercing but 2 more days and I would have got an infection. I got a tattoo here when I lived in LA about 11 years ago. I decided to return to this shop while I was in town. The 3 artists were just chilling when I came in. Granted, it was mid afternoon on a Tuesday, but I was hoping for a bit more enthusiasm/ professionalism. The back area where the tattoos are done was cluttered and very unorganized. It took my artist 10 minutes to "set up" his work station. My artist who didn't tell me his name or ask for mine was good at asking what I wanted and helped iron out the details of my design. He was patient when I cursed and wiggled because of the pain. He encouraged me to check out the progress of the work but I wanted it to be a surprise.The price seemed reasonable for the size and details of my design. Plus 15$ off bill with Yelp check in. Such a great experience! This was my first tattoo. I came on a whim and wasn't completely sure about what I wanted. Space drafted out one of my ideas and I instantly loved it! Everything was a really fast and simple process. Obviously I was super nervous but he really helped me decide on everything, even about where I should get it! My sister and I got matching tattoos here about 6 years ago. Except they didn't really match. We both got a heart with the word sisters. My sisters heart was misshapen. My heart started out looking good but after it healed it looked terrible. It looks more like connect the dots. The writing on mine is illegible and breaking apart. It was my first tattoo and her second. I have wanted it removed for 6 years but haven't been able to do it. I know it's a long time after the fact to write a review but I have had to live with this thing I hate on my wrist for that long and this shop did not respond when I tried to ask them what could be done to fix it. If you're piercing anything important to you, do not do it here! I will preface this story with the fact that my earlobe healed perfectly fine. I went here over Halloween to get one of my earlobe piercings reopened and to get a tragus piercing. I regret everything. The man who pierced my tragus made two huge errors: (1) the bar he put in was too short and (2) the angle of the piercing was off so that it was not straight and went very far into my ear canal, making it extremely difficult to get at. You may ask, why does this matter? Well, the day after my piercing, my ear was extremely swollen. So I went to a different (better) piercing shop to talk to them about it. They said the only thing they could do was change the bar to something longer because the two ends of it were completely flush against my ear. This caused the jewelry to press onto my ear, irritate it, and cause me extreme pain. I said, great, lets do that. Well, because the piercing was so deep in my ear they could not get a grip on it and ended up irritating my ear even more. Long story short after a trip to the piercing shop, the doctor and the ER in the span of a week I had the incredibly painful piercing removed. Now I'm out for the piercing and the ER visit. Fail. Would never recommend this to someone else. read more

I remember telling him he was being kind of rough with the tattoo. Of course he brushed it off. So we're eventually the tattoo heals and it looks horrible. He said for $20 extra he'd able to fix. Compared to the other tattoo and piercing places on Hollywood Blvd, this place is a lot neater and organized. I needed a new piece of jewelry to put in my navel. I have had the same piece in it for years and have been having a hard time finding a new one because I can't put "cheap" metal in it because my skin is sensitive and will breakout. When I walked in and looked around, their jewelry was neatly organized on black palettes and easy to see. The girl that helped me was nice and educated on the jewelry. I explained the situation with my sensitive skin and she assured me that the jewelry is made out of surgical steel and I'll have no problem. I found a piece of jewelry that was cute and inexpensive. My piercer came in and told me what he was going to do. Basically, he was re-piercing a hole that has closed so no big deal. It was quick, painless and he was professional. Totally digging this place. I had to replace my monroe stud because it was way too long, then had to replace it *again* because it was way too short (my bad, not the piercer). He was a really great guy, funny and willing to help. I wasn't digging the $15 PLUS the $5 "fee" to put it in, but maybe that's just how it is how here. I did not come here for a tattoo nor did I end up getting one hence I should not give them too many stars. If anyone wants to give them more than 3 stars I think it should be for their art. HAVING THAT SAID... LA Tattoo is open late and while on a late night catholic school girl skirt run, we came across LA Tat. The guys here are really great! Really down to Earth, big flirts, fun, and crazy. I tried on some of their skirts and there was one I liked but I decided not to go with it. They have some leather accessories, smoke stuff, skirts, shirts, jackets, and more; of course in addition to their tattoo artists. One of the shop dudes, Ronin, inspired me to get some piercing done. I really want to! but due to work I decided not to. I asked him where he would pierce me and it was automatically my lips. I thought so too!!!! I really want one but I can't work in the corporate world with a big lip ring! :( BOOO... Anywhoo. It's open until like 2 or 4am, they have all sorts of stuff, the guys are cool, it's on Hwood Blvd, and it's chill. I think that deserves at least 3 stars. As for their tattoos? So............I was visiting LA a couple weeks ago and was walking down Hollywood Blvd w a couple friends on the late night.. If you don't know, aside from the bit of sightseeing stuff on the blvd, it's riddled w hookah lounge after stripper shoe store, after pizza parlor, after tattoo shop, after smoke shop, after liquor store, after nightclub after bum, after....well...the cycle sadly repeats over and over. it's like one of those old school cartoons where the character is running and in the background behind him the landscape just repeats and repeats and..you get the gist. Either way, I got the sudden urge to get a tattoo..my first tattoo at that! I had so many shops to pick from and couldn't decide which to go in so while walking I pulled up my handy dandy Yelp app to find one w decent reviews and within walking distance...and.. it led me to LA Tattoo. I walked up to the counter and met w Mario..an older Latino gentleman who was quite the funny man. I explained to him a custom design and he drew it from scratch and wah lah! It was exactly what I wanted! :) Since I was scared out of my mind he talked me through the whole process w jokes added to relieve me some of my anxiety, and in a matter of about 45min I was done and very pleased w the results. unprofessional, did not have a good experience here. i came in July to get my nose pierced, and first of all they charged $60. i thought that was way overpriced considering i had previously gotten my nose pierced for $25 at a different place, but it's on hollywood blvd so what can you really expect. as i was sat down i told my piercer (white guy covered in tattoos, cant remember his name) that i was scared and he dismisses it by saying "no youre not, youre excited". after this he silently gets everything prepped and i notice he's about to pierce my nose without saying a word. no heads up, no nothing, even after i had just told him that i was scared. he brings the needle towards my nose and i ask him if hes about to pierce me, and he responds "no sh*t sherlock". this could be seen as playful and friendly but it was just rude? i'm very scared of needles and i didn't appreciate how unsupportive and unprofessional he was being. at this point i was getting a lot of anxiety and then he once again goes in to pierce my nose with no warning or heads up at all. as i felt the needle start to go through my skin, my body reacted (and i still feel really bad about this, i genuinely didn't mean for this to happen) by pushing his arm away lightly because i was just so uncomfortable, so anxious, and wasn't mentally prepared. i apologized and he starts raising his voice at me??? like basically yelling?? he kept repeating stuff like "dont f*cking touch me again, you're not allowed to touch me, do not touch me, you're not going to touch me again right? do not f*cking touch me" etc very aggressively while piercing my nose. i was laughing it off because i wanted to think he was joking but he didn't show any signs that he was joking, he seemed completely serious. i was so shocked at how poorly he handled this when he could've just made sure i was comfortable and ready before piercing me. and after all that he never even told me how to clean it or take care of it properly. yeah will never be coming here again lol read more
