I can't believe I waited so long to come here. There is a lot of parking in the lot and it's pretty big so it's not an issue for that. Upon walking in the vibes are immaculate from the service, to the decor, to the music, to the tvs playing el chavo del ocho they hit the nail on the head. The service was very quick and the staff were extremely nice and friendly. We started with the drinks and they have a large selection. I love that they also offer frozen drinks which are u favorite and it came with a lot! Def worth the price. It was delicious. All the food was delicious and I couldn't even finish it all in one sitting there were def leftovers. All around you need to come here and experience this. Will definitely be back! read more

There is a young gentleman who is likely in charge of going table to table to make sure everything is to par. The food was very bland and in my opinion wasn't worth the price. Food is above average nothing special that you would get from a good taco truck for cheaper. The place is probably best for sit downs and fans of the Chavo del ocho show. For the price of the food I wouldn't come back often. They charge way too much for the food not to be 5 out of 5. I got take out and they didn't put salsas inside the bag. That bothered me for spending 80 dollars of food for them not to do that. It was a good experience but the food is mid. Give it a try maybe you'll like it more. My wife had been wanting to try this place for a while, so we decided to visit during Father's Day weekend. On Sunday, it was super packed with a 2-hour wait, which we took as a good sign. We decided to come back on Tuesday, expecting a shorter wait, and indeed, we got a table right away. The staff was nice, no complaints there, but the place had an awful smell. When we asked about it, they said they would check, but it didn't get better. We placed our orders, and when the food arrived, it was very disappointing. The dishes lacked flavor and were super simple. The only okay item was my milanesa torta, but even that wasn't great. Given the popularity of this place, we expected much better. I know tastes vary, but if you know what real Mexican food should taste like, you'll understand this isn't it. Sorry to say, but we won't be returning. read more

It's crazy it took me this long to find this place. Their Tortas are excellent. Carne Asada plate is delicious. The shareable sizzling Molcajete Enchilado is great. But my favorite is the Kiko's plate. Love the hacienda courtyard vibe of the interior. I brought 3 groups of friends after I discovered this place and they all love it here. P.S. the Mangonada Margarita is expensive, but totally worth it. I might ask a couple of extra shots of tequila in it next time though. read more

The staff were very nice. We ate dinner here on Friday 02/06/26 my husband ordered a 32oz but it was 16oz my husband asked the waiter and he claimed that it was 32oz. Wow I'm amazed by this place, this place brought me back to my childhood when I used to watch el Chavo del 8. Their food is also amazing! The queso fundido was giving to you flambed and with a side of handmade corn tortillas, so good made you lick your fingers. The torta de chilaquiles was huge, but those chilaquiles were spicy, still really good. Burrito de chile relleno was different something I've never had, but again it was pretty tasty. Even the sopa de fideo, not much to it, but the flavor was there. Kiko's plate was also good, the meat was nice and tender and it also came with handmade corn tortillas. Not only is this place such a vibe, but the food is bomb. It does take a while for the food to come, but it's worth it you can tell they put a lot of pride into their dishes. The food was okay. I went with family and we ordered the huarache, sope and carne asada plate. The food was good but overpriced. I was expecting a piece of steak on the huarache (like the majority of places do) but it was carne asada/fat meat like the one used for tacos. Each plate plus a soda was well over $25 per person. The ambiance was nice because of el Chaco del ocho theme and live music but other than that, the food is just okay and overrated- the high price doesn't help. The staff is nice. They do have homemade tortillas. Oh, the cafe de olla was gooood! There is this other guy there who goes around asking if it's your birthday and wants to sale balloons to you. He is annoying and came up to us 3 times, asked if it was our birthday, and 3 times we said no. Wow, La Vecindad was so good!! And the service was 5 start. Upon arriving we waited outside for our table to be set up. The menu is big so be ready to not know what to order because it all sounds good. To start off I went with the queso fundido with chorizo, it came with 4 corn tortillas. Awesome definitely recommend it. I decided to try the chile relleno burrito. It was also very very good. You get a taste of it all in each bite. To wash the food down I had their refreshing cucumber and lime water. For dessert we had the churros with the fried ice cream. Overall awesome restaurant. Ok, this restaurant has an interesting decor inside & out but, it's cute. The service was friendly & efficient. The chips & salsa were good. For the salsa lovers, they had 4 kinds. None of them are chunky but, all of them have great flavor & spice. I had the carnitas & my husband had Flautas. The beans were home made & delicious. We enjoyed both our meals. A traditional Mexican restaurant with authentic food, delicious food! I treated my family out to a huge, hearty dinner at La Vecindad. Our waitress brought out chips and salsa. We ordered guacamole to add on. The guac was fresh, smooth, and so tasty! If you're an avocado fan - definitely try it out. My main course was a Torta "El Chavo" style. It's a Mexican sandwich on a freshly toasted white bread with a slightly flakey crust. It came with melted cheese, tomatoes, avocado, ham, and large jalapeño right on top. My family ordered a "Molcajete" which is a large stone-like bowl. It was filled to the brim with deliciously seasoned proteins -- shrimp, chicken, beef, nopales (cactus paddle, and salsa. The meat was so tasty, I kept going back for seconds. Same with the rice and beans. Important notes: the portion are LARGE! If you plan to head here, I suggest splitting with others or ordering the "minis." This location is also LOUD. If you're not looking for a loud and chaotic location - do not go here. read more

Found this place by accident, and am very glad I did! It's in an old, rather nasty strip mall (claiming the strip mall is under renovation is overly optimistic...) -- at night, try hard to park directly in front. Once you walk up to the place, you can already tell it's going to be fun. Hard to describe the place -- think the Latino version of a Bennigan's/TGI Friday's or like a Carlos 'n Charlie's but without the cheesy corporate formula. The staff truly seem to be happy, friendly & somewhat laid-back, but not slacking when it comes to service. For an appetizer, we ordered Guacamole & Chips. Usually for that $13 price, the guacamole is made fresh, at our table, but in this case it was quickly brought out to us in two containers. I was worried about that at first, but upon tasting it, I could tell it was very freshly made, and frankly, that's all I cared about. I don't want to tie-up staff, putting on the performance of making guacamole right in front of me. Our entrées also came out pretty quickly and were delicious. Of course there are many many Mexican/Latino restaurants in the Las Vegas area, some are very good. I put La Vecindad in that category now and I expect I will be back. It is definitely not only the type of place, but also in a location where if you were to take guests there with you, they will wonder how in the world you found out about the place, as it's quite a gem, hidden in a rather sad area. Just tell them you saw it after working up an appetite at the nearby The Green Door & decided to give it a try. The only criticism I would have is one that I have for so many place these days -- the prices seem kinda high, especially for the location. But I admit I'm a cheap old dude, dreaming that I can still fill my belly with good food for about $10, so that criticism says more about me than it does La Vecindad.
