Had dinner at La Villa on Saturday night. A great Italian spot, which has all the rich and heavy dishes that you crave. Quality: Old school Italian joint that does a little of everything and where no one is going to complain. It took me time to finally visit because I was intimidated by the menu. The amount of pizza styles and options is overwhelming. However, from what they did with my Small Deep Dish Speciale Pizza, I think you can be confident in any style. It was the Fried Homemade Mozzarella though that would keep me coming back, it honestly doesn't get much better. Quantity: Everything comes in huge portions. Value: $14 for the Fried Homemade Mozzarella. $23 for the Small Deep Dish Speciale Pizza. Ambiance: La Villa is an Italian restaurant and pizza spot in Park Slope. It has a very casual atmosphere and old school vibes. There are always a few tables outside, but rarely do I see folks there. The majority of seating is inside in the long dining room. There are three separated areas including bar seating. There is also a space for take-out orders. A single television behind the counter played basketball and some pop traditional crooned in the background. Crowd: Busy on Saturday evening, I was lucky to snag a table. Service: Great, very friendly servers. They are also extremely fast with food orders. Parking: Limited street parking in the area. read more

Our waiter was a gentleman - efficient, attentive and personable, the food was delicious - reminded The Wife of calzones from her youth and the space was warm and inviting. This was a perfect impromptu date lunch; we can't wait to have an excuse to be back in the neighborhood to have another meal. read more

My husband and I have been eating here for years. Their staff is always great and very accommodating when I've shown up with large groups for celebrations. Their food is consistently good and pizza can be ordered thin crust or however you like and always delicious! There's even a small patio if you prefer to sit outdoors. read more

There's a reason La Villa has outlasted almost every other Park Slope restaurant over the past 25(?) years. Excellent food, large portions, reasonable prices, and a great staff. Oh, and really cold draft beers and a pretty good soundtrack. Our server tonight (and other times) was Armando, who's just a wonderful person and an attentive and efficient waiter. We've been coming to La Villa for years as a family and it's still great. The only reason I can't give it five stars is because the table and seats were a bit dirty, they were out of some ingredients, and we had to flag our server down if we wanted him but he was very kind. The food was still very good though! The fried zucchini app was amazing as always and I got minestrone soup in a bowl larger than my head which was also very delicious. The bread service is still fantastic and I ate way more bread than I should have. The pasta was good and so was the calzone that was the size of a 3 month old. All in all we still enjoy La Villa a lot and will come back again! read more

I take it all back- they're no longer consistent. We ordered a deep dish pizza with prosciutto and a couple of veggies (it cost like $45 for a small pizza). Apparently they didn't have prosciutto so instead of calling us and allowing us to change the order they sent a pizza with just veggies!!! Just veggies!!! And when we complained to the delivery service they just issued a refund of the one topping. Without the meat the pizza sucked- it was borderline inedible! Sucked! I mean who does that?! This place officially sucks now and I wouldn't recommend anyone else get screwed by them. read more

This place on a sunny, but a windy and cold (outside seating around lunch time) was to celebrate the arrival of our first grandson, with the happy father & mother and uncle and auntie (missing just another uncle). The selections were all over the place - Mixed Green salad was a hit, Caesar not really. This place is not cheap - individual SM Napolitana with meatball - $20 was good. 1 Parm hero with eggplant- $18, but it was consumed in 2 days, which is great. La Villa wrap - $18.00, not so good. This was the last day of the closing Fifth Ave in Park Slope, still I wish we would be able to seat inside, but with our big party no chance. Service was OK, considering inside place was mobbed. Last thing - the tip starts from 18%, what about 15%? Then it goes to 20% & 25%, I guess its the owner choice. read more

The restaurant has a small but comfy outdoor area. There are about 4 tables so the waiting is long. The service was fast and friendly. For a party of 3, including drinks, dessert, and tip, we paid $180. We had siciliana pizza (sm) and calamari as appetizers. For our main courses, we had the classic chicken parmigiana, one on linguini and the other on rigatoni, and lasagna. The lasagna was the best out of the 3 in my opinion. We also share a tiramisu that was just ok. I had coffee but I didn't like it, it tasted like burnt coffee. We also had 2 glasses of wine. Overall this is an ok restaurant. I will no go out of my way to eat here but is a nice place to grab some food if you are around. read more

By happenstance I ended up here after meeting a friend. It's a cute spot and you can find something tasty here. Its a fancier pizza joint in comparison to a spot you'd get a slice. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating, they hustle to make sure the customer service is on point. La Villa was a wonderful accidental find of a spot. We walked in and were immediately greeted to the warm welcoming smell of pizza and pasta. The menu was more extensive than I thought it would be and lots of options we saw looked so good as they came out to tables nearby. I made a trip to La Villa because another nearby Pizzeria was closed. La Villa's space is very nice and they have outdoor seating. I tried the Sicilian, and the Grandma's slices. The pizza is generally good here - especially when you eat it fresh out of the oven. However, it doesn't travel well when you get take out. Main reason for 2 stars is that some of the staff is nasty. Recently asked to customize a pasta dish and sub out one item for another and the guy at the front gave me an unnecessarily hard time about it. Wanted to charge me $11 to replace prosciutto with sausage. Okay, I don't mind paying a little more. But $11?! Finally places are open to eat! I can finally be served and enjoy a meal with a glass of wine . La Villa was open and there were a few open tables so decided to dine. We were seated the distance required and started off with the onion bread while dinner was preparing. I kept it simple and tried the ravioli. It was Tasty and filling. At my table, other guests enjoyed Italian Mac and cheese and tortellini in cream sauce with peas. Beware, the Mac and cheese is super hot , all dishes got excellent reviews. I have been eating at this restaurant for at least 13 years that I can recall. I have moved all around the country during those years but I always know that when I'm back in Brooklyn, La Villa is a must. I absolutely love their Sicilian pizza, white pizza, and the Eggplant rolatini. I always order those but have ordered other things over the years. Leftovers are transported back to wherever I came from so I can have just a little bit more. I went in this week on a Sunday night with a party of 10. Luckily, they were able to seat us. We ordered the usuals and they were great. I would like to suggest one thing though, for parties that large perhaps offer at least 3 baskets of bread. Doesn't make sense that 2 people get one basket and 10 people get 2... Anyhow, I'll be back eventually. read more

La Villa has been the go-to spot for my family for years. For a while, we stopped ordering from them because one or two things always seemed to get left behind, but they were consistent and the food was delicious anyway, including throughout the pandemic. I've been here so so many times! Like easily more than 15. I have tried a few things that really stand out. 1. Baked ziti (fresh, cheesy, yummy) 2. Fried mozzarella appetizer (cheese string ooey gooey greatness) 3. Caesar salad (big flakes of Parmesan, creamy dressing, crunchy romaine) I'm usually consistent and get a Caesar salad and baked ziti but I've also ventured and try there wood fired pizza and it is very good. NOTE IF YOU ARE TWO PEOPLE YOU CAN EASILY SHARE THE SMALL WOOD FIRED PIZZA YOU DO NOT NEED THE LARGE. Pizza is thin crust good and fresh. Pomodoro rigatoni is eh. I mean for $11 what do you expect it is exactly what it says noodles and sauce nothing special. Eggplant Parmesan is very good but it's a HUGE portion and I'm not a big fan of eggplant so it's ok. Complimentary bread will have you feeling like a carbohydrate monster because it's so dam good. Note if you want to try something amazing when they bring you olive oil ask for some balsamic vinegar, drip some balsamic vinegar in with the olive oil ask for some cheese shake some cheese inside and you got yourself some heavenly bread dipping. Deserts are a bit to much for me in the sense that the afogato is fairly simple and the Nutella calzone is big and heavy, I would order it on an empty stomach. GREAT STAFF, GREAT SERVICE, they make me feel like home and I observe there interactions with customers they really treat everyone like family. Cash and credit accepted. THEY ONLY SELL INDIVIDUAL SLICES OF PIZZA DURING LUNCH. Service is excellent. Get the baked ziti. read more

We stick to the pizza and for me it's SOME of the best in the city. In the park slope area, it's probably the best but Emmy did just open up so they have some competition. I love the traditional pie as well as the Sicilian. They also have a nice bread basket that comes with an assortment of items including real focaccia. We've tried a few salads and appetizers but nothing really stands out or compares to the pizza. I would recommend the meatballs and sometimes we do the baked clams. Service is suspect but they manage to get you in and out without too much of a hassle. read more

My boyfriend and I had a bad experience with the service (just the server because the busboy was great). We were waiting for a table for 15 min to clean and I had to tell them to clean the table. Then, our server was so rude and unfriendly . He came to the table one time to take a order and then never came again until I raised my hand. Over the years, I've passed by La Villa countless times and often thought to myself, "This place has been open forever. The food must be good. Why haven't I eaten here?" Likely because there are other Italian places closer to where I live. Yesterday my hubby and I came home from a short trip and were a bit stir crazy from our plane flight and needed to walk, so we decided to stroll over to La Villa. We arrived slightly before 7 p.m. on a Saturday night to find a short line and a long wait--unless we were willing to sit by the bar near the entrance. As we stood there debating whether we should stay, a lovely waiter told us if we took the bar seats he would take care of us right away--and he did. Whenever I try a new Italian spot, I tend to order the lasagna and tiramisu (but not served together!) as those two dishes are a reliable benchmark by which to rate a restaurant. So I ordered my standbys as well as the broccoli rabe appetizer as a side dish. While we waited, we feasted on a generous basket of bread made with olive oil and red onion, and shared a carafe of the house red wine, which was far better than I expected. Watching two men masterfully make pizzas from scratch as well as the impressive number of people picking up food for delivery or take out helped pass the time as we waited for our entrees to be served. Everything was delicious, and the portions guaranteed leftovers. Don't come here seeking hipster fare, though; La Villa offers only the old-school, red sauce variety. Definitely worth the walk, though reservations are recommended. read more

Have been coming here for years, and this has been one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Brooklyn. Was upset with my last trip here however as I didn't find the service to be the best. I came on a Saturday night so I expected it to be busy and did have to wait a bit to be served. The restaurant however began to clear out and the service didn't improve. My table of 4 waited for 10 minutes to receive water and 20 minutes to get bread. Our order was not given to us correctly and we would have been charged for the food that we where never served had I not double checked the bill. On top of that our waiter did not appear to be attentive to our table, not sure if he was overwhelmed or there was another reason for this. Really hope you guys can do better next time as this was a disappointing experience from a place I really enjoyed coming to in the past. read more

I hadn't been to this restaurant in a while but remembered liking it, so I decided to stop in tonight for an upscale meal, since it was my birthday. I wish I hadn't, because the service was slow and inattentive, I received the wrong pizza, and I was lied to about receiving said wrong pizza when I pointed out the error. I ordered a deep dish Sottosopra, which according to their menu, is "'Upside Down' Layers of homemade Mozzarella topped with Marianara Sauce or Tomato & Basil Sauce, Pecorino Romano, & Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Large Deep Dish or Wood Fired". What I received was a Neapolitan-style Margherita with the toppings "right-side up" instead of "upside down". The server walked away before I could say anything, and because of the slow, inattentive service, I finally decided to eat the pizza anyway before it got cold because while the crust was wrong, and the toppings were in the wrong order, they were mostly correct (note the lack of pecorino romano, which was in the Sottosopra description). Upon pointing out receiving the incorrect order to the server, he tried to tell me that my obvious Margherita was in fact the Sottosopra, and that the Margherita "looked different" than what I was given. I told him the Sottosopra is supposed to have upside-down toppings, and he told me the toppings were in fact upside-down. I raised an eyebrow at him and paid the check, but he lost his tip for lying about the mix-up instead of owning up to it, and La Villa lost my business for good. It's too bad, because the pizza is delicious, but I don't need to be gaslit when I go out to eat. There are other places in the neighborhood to have upscale pizza when I'm in the mood that hopefully don't come with a side of gaslighting the customers. read more

This gem is the most consistent thing in Park Slope since iPads forcing you to tip 20% on iced coffees. Tried and true through the pandemic, these 700 degree wood fire ovens have been churning out tomato and cheese matrimony for what feels like decades. But the never mundane Neapolitans aren't the only thing to rave about. Pristine parmigiana and an eclectic selection of pastas make you realize why paisans call it gravy and yuppies call it sauce. Throw in some immaculate service where the boys'll make sure you don't Focaccia coat and you have yourself a joint that'll go toe to toe with any pizzeria turned restaurant in the biz. read more

My family and I have bin going to la Villa for over 9 years we've celebrated every occasion there . Today Easter my family and I went to eat there . The host asked us how many my mom said 3 people they told us to wait we sat at a bar and waited a family of 3 came in that seemed to know the host they asked for a table for 3 , 5 min later they were being seated , we spoke to the host and waiter they lied about why they sat them first we were seated next , after 20 min no one asked us what we wanted but the family's that came after us had drinks and some food . So I get up and ask the host again what's going on ? The humiliation was being noticed by everyone at this point ! The family next to us said it's disgusting & just shook their heads at us being treated bad because we weren't white ! The Mexican servers are racist & pushy , tripping over them self to attend the white guest only while the Latinos that were here first are being ignored ! You might not know us by name there because we go to eat we pay our food and we leave ! Nothing more nothing less was expected until we were met with racism. People of color & Latinos don't eat at la villa ! We're not welcomed by the Mexican waiters & im sure by management as well ! -We left and went to Nubleu 2 blocks away . The owner Greta and the host made up for the terrible hurtful time at la villa , the food was amazing the decorations the music ... save the heartache and go to Nubleu , I promise it's worth the trip!!! read more

I thought I should write a review just to point out that this restaurant had the greatest discrepancy between food and service of any place I've ever been. Went with my wife and parents and it was bad from the start: after taking a while to get to us, the waiter walked away halfway through taking our order - just walked away, without saying anything. The waiters seemed super busy doing stuff, but the restaurant was pretty empty. We waited for a while and eventually he came back to take the rest of the order and tell us he'd put the appetizers in. The appetizers came, and they were really really good, but immediately after, two of the four entrees came out while we were still working on the appetizers. The easier of the two entrees - pizza and a calzone - came literally a half hour later (we timed it), requiring several reminders to the wait staff, All the food was super good - the red sauce is really special, and the calzones had great texture and flavor. The bill came and we didn't get an apology or any mention of how bad the service was. Nobody was really that upset - we still tipped 20% and didn't say anything because we chalked it up to shortstaffing - but just know that I thought my experience would be a useful one to share. read more
