This family owned restaurant is a local gem. Parking is plentiful, service is always quick and speedy. Everyone that works here is super nice. Now, on to the food. I love their chips and salsa. Chips are crispy and salted just right. The salsa is flavorful. My favorite is the enchiladas with beans and rice. Flavorful, not dry just like any good Mexican restaurant would have it. I used to go to Cal Poly Pomona, and for 5 years (anyone else in the VIP 5-Year program?) I enjoyed La Villa Kitchen at LEAST 3x a week. I was turned on to this amazing establishment by my coworkers and we would do a lunch run to this place at least 1x a week. I grew up just down the street from this AMAZING little place. It's been open since i was a lil tyke.. I have always loved their enchiladas- beef or chicken. Their tacos and their burritos are mucho bueno. They also have great shrimp and fish tacos. VERY friendly staff. The Mexican Food here is not very good. I came here twice, the first time it was bad, but I wanted to give it another chance and now I regret it. The beans were crusty, my red burrito was below average, and the hard tacos were very greasy. Service is good, but I won't be back. It's nuts how many people in San Dimas like this place, but we don't have many options. Casa Del Rey is maybe a half notch up from here, not much better. I order four plates of the same food which was Camarones A la Diabla the food was good but they only set three shrimps on each order if I'm paying for shrimp I think more than three should have been on each plate. I've been going to this place for years! It's two minutes away from my parents house and it's a spot we will always meet up at. The chips and salsa are pretty amazing. And I always get the chicken soft tacos or the chicken tostada. They have beer and wine but no margaritas, which disappointed my moms friend when we came. It's in a little shopping center so most people pass it up, except if your a local. So you always see the same people in there. Friday and Saturday nights this place fills up! I told her I wanted a burrito (but I was picking the type) she stated the kitchen closes in 5 minutes. And I told her I just wanted it to go and she said ok well just letting you know the kitchen closes in 5 minutes. This made me feel like I was going to inconvenience them to order something to go. I decided not to order anything and left. I feel it is rude to tell a customer your kitchen is closing when they are just trying to order to go. Sadly, no 'real' wine, but the wine margaritas were tasty and hit the spot. We ordered the chile verde and chile colorado, and were satisfied with the quality and flavor. I really don't understand how this place has a 4 star rating oh wait never mind I just checked WHO was actually giving the high ratings and it seems that it is those who are scared to dine at an authentic Mexican restaurant west of San Dimas because this place is nowhere near authentic. I had their chicken burrito (relax, I know a "burrito" is not an authentic Mexican dish) and it tasted horrible!!! Never had a burrito where the cheese was coagulated and the tortilla was soggy. Just look at those who are giving the great reviews and by the way, here is a suggestion.....take a 10-15 minute drive to La Puente DON'T BE AFRAID and visit Rambo's Tacos on Francisquito and you will see a major difference. read more
