Tried this place out today and boy was it good! The combination fried rice has strips of meat and some nice, medium sized shrimp which in my opinion, is a way to see how much meat you actually get in your rice! We also got Won Ton soup and the broth had such a rich taste it was like melting in your mouth. The wontons were fresh and steamed perfectly. Update: thank you for the explanation. We understand the price increase due to inflation but hope the online menu is updated to reflect that since it was a big shock coming to pay for our food. Original post: Great food every time we have been there. However- the prices aren't as listed on the menus online. We ordered to go over the phone- 2 combo fried rice, two kids meals, egg rolls, and an iced tea which according to the online menu should have been about $45.50. Upon pickup the price was $75!!!! For two adult meals and two children! We asked what the extra $25/30 was from and they said the prices on the site are old. We tried to get clarification because is is coming from a menu on their website. They told us they can't take it down because a customer uploaded it??? I moved to Bastrop for work for a jobsite (I build solar farms) and while I was here I wanted to find a good restaurant that had vegetarian and vegan options since I myself am vegetarian. I came here since I saw on the menu that they had vegan dumplings and it looked pretty good from what I could tell. I was ABSOLUTELY FLOORED when I got my food. In total ecstacy. The vegetarian fried rice (no egg) was the literal best fried rice I have ever eaten in my entire life. I don't k ow what it is but the way the rice is cooked, it has a very distinct flavor that I crave now. Delicious. And the vermicelli bowl is to die for, perfect amount of veggies to fried tofu ratio. Actually there is about 20-30% tofu than I would expect or deem acceptable, so personally I love it. Everything is cooked perfectly, tofu not too crisp, veggies fresh and alive, broccoli soft enough while also being sturdy. Just perfect. I've gotten all spicy levels 1-5 and generally go with a 2. 2 is a perfect spice if you legitimately like spicy, because it is still kind of hot. But to me perfect. DO NOT GET A 5 IF YOU AREN'T A MASTER SPICE CONNOISSEUR. It destroyed my mouth and ruined my food. I can usually power through stuff but I was weak and it was too much. I can take spice though, but it's too much. Food is always extremely quick to be at your table. Apps brought out a good interval time between the main dish. And the servers are very nice and attentitive I moved away unfortunately so I won't be able to eat here again, but I have been back to the job 2 times to fix up random stuff and ha egine to this restaurant every time I've been sick and multiple times throughout the week. 6/5 I absolutely recommend, I am very very sad I won't be able to eat here any more. LAB C is a great local spot. The owner is very friendly. Even our boys like the food which was a good surprise with how picky kids can be. The boys get grilled chicken with noodles. The chicken is nicely seasoned. Noodles are delicious. We usually get the fried dumplings for an app. Crunchy with a sweet dipping sauce. Available in pork or chicken. Met with wifey for dinner and I gto one order each for us. I decided to try something different this time and got a Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich). It normally has jalapeno on it but I don't do spicy most days so i asked for it without. I go the pork which was juicy and tasted awesome. The shredded cucumber and mayo added a nice creamy cool flavor and the bread was perfect. Wifey got a seafood bowl that she has had before. She said it was delicious. They have some nice fountrain drink options, a cream soda that is great along with the normal variety. My tea was lukewarm and it came from their tea shop "Valley Tea" a couple doors away. I really wanted the standard white porcelain teapot and small cup - that would be steaming hot with steeping jasmine tea that would keep on brewing while I was refilling my cup throughout my meal.... Service was good in spite of the fact that they put the food on our table without checking if it is ours or not and when we are about to eat the manager said don't eat yet and wanted to take the food back because they said there is another person who ordered the same thing. I understand that everyone is short staffed and struggling right now. I'm only writing this to encourage management to please look into the disfunction at the restaurant. We waited over an hour to get food, and at that point only half our table received their food, an hour later my daughter and I still hadn't been served. Multiple times a waitress, separate from our own waiter, came by to ask if we'd gotten everything. Each time we said no. The first time she asked our table was still completely empty. Even our drinks took over an hour. Hunger and boredom took over after hours sitting there so we canceled our order, paid for the 2 plates that had been delivered, tipped well, and went to a fast food place to finally eat. I saw many other customers served in a timely way, and so I know that this had to have been a fluke. The staff was very apologetic. Well this place started off good when it was on 71. My husband and I have been faithful patrons through all the messed up orders and rude staff. Today was the last straw after a hard days work in Austin my order was wrong yet again. I live 20 minutes from Lab C so arrived home with half my order. I'm driving back now to get my money back. I called and spoke with to a very disrespectful girl who claimed she was the manager. She was unbelievably rude. She actually hung up on me.
