Worst pizza ever! My husband and I stopped there for a late afternoon lunch after hearing some friends talk about how good it was. We ordered a large pizza with sausage, green peppers, black olives and mushrooms. i have never seen a pizza covered in this much cheese and that was only the first bad thing about this pizza. The crust tasted like a store-bought frozen pizza dough. Although it wasn't overdone, it was crunchy, dry and a bit stale. The sauce was bland and I couldn't even tell if the sausage was italian. The mushrooms were canned and not fresh (this might not have mattered if the pizza had been good). The cheese was so thick and was overwhelming. I can't imagine why this place is still in business. The service was good though. But a one star for this place is definitely more than it deserved. read more

The resteraunt itself isnt the nicest (really dusty and dim) but thats not the reason to come here. They have the best pizza, the sause is just the right ammount of sweet with perfect thin crust and theyre one of those odd place that bakes the toppings under the cheese but its so good! When I moved to Columbia people raved about this place. Since I have been struggling to find good pizza in Columbia I decided to give it a shot. The pizza is basically a frozen pizza with a hard crisp crust with cheese and toppings added. My husband and I were so excited to go to this place and we were really disappointed. I don't rate restaurants as low as I have rated this place. But I would not recommend this place to anyone who likes real pizza. read more

It would be lower than one star if I could! Already seated with menus before we were told that it's not worth the money to have a beer license on Sunday! Ordered anyway, drinking water because the soda machine was broken! Can Coke and diet were the only choices! Styrofoam cup leaking on the table when delivered! Waitress was upset when we asked for another cup! Pizza took 45 minutes and when delivered the waitress drug the slices on the edge of the table and joked about someone getting string cheese! She collected it with her finger and put it on the Styrofoam plate before me! I threw it on the side of the table and she went for another plate! Never saw her again until I went for a to go box! Obviously, regular customers of Labrasscas Pizza have no reason to look on Yelp. Me? I wasn't sure of Sunday hours. Surprised to read any negative reviews. I have a taste for good quality food and atmosphere. A collection of good restaurants for me would be in Charleston SC or Charlotte NC for example. NOW LET ME SAY THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA IN SC AND ANY OTHER STATE I'VE TIRED PIZZA. I LOVE the crunchy crust and the sweet sauce. I'm not sure which is my favorite...cheese only or everything but anchovies. And you must order their cheese salad. This pizza is so good I order several UNCOOKED to take home because I live 1.5 hours away. Let me add, my brother lives in Mt. Pleasant SC and also buys uncooked pizza from Labrasscas to freeze. THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA. And yes the decor is out dated but that is what gives this place character!!! read more

Delicious! Wonderful pizza, atmosphere and service! The people that work there have been there for many many years! When you walk in you feel like a part of their family. They remember you and are extremely hospitable! The pizzas are amazing! You have to eat it with a fork and knife though because there is no crust to hold on to! Lol. The prices are right on part with their pizzas. They also have something called a cheese salad and it's phenomenal! All it is is lettuce with tons of shredded mozzerella on top and a tomato! Best thing ever! I would highly recommend this place to everyone! I'm just astonished to see all the negative reviews for this restaurant! I guess it's not for everyone! Unfortunately, they were recently impacted by the flood and are trying to reopen. They are reopened for take out only right now until they can get their inside fixed. A Columbia Landmark. I've been eating here for over 40 years and have enjoyed every meal. The pizza is the best you will ever have, with sauce and ingredients spread all the way to the edge of the pie. The cheese salads are a great starter and big enough for two. The décor hasn't changed much since they opened and for some who think they need an update I would say it's like a comfortable, romantic & happy part of my life. On our wedding aniversary, my wife of 48 years surprised me with a Labrasca's pizza. We now live about 30 miles from labrasca's and have not eaten there in many years. I first found out about labrasca's in the late 60's. My friends and I would travel from West Columbia to eat the absolute best pizza anywhere in the USA, yes I have had New York, Chicago and most large cities pizza around the country and they never measured up to Labrasca's. My wife and I started dating in 1970. We always got green pepper, italian sausage and mushroom, we ate there till We moved because of a great job opportunity in 1979. The pizza looked great but the first bite told the story. The crust, sauce, cheese and most toppings had little to no taste. The sauce reminded me of a can of tomato soup (very bland). I did not have the heart to tell my wife how bad it tasted. Very Very disappointed. I guess change is not always for the best. I gave 2 stars for old times sake. read more

Labrascas was our hang out in high school. Drove from Lexington to pick up a salad and pizza!! Still like it.

This has been my favorite pizza in Columbia since I was a child. It's an institution, and there is no other pizza like it. Friendly, great atmosphere and service, and of course locally owned. The pizza has a crispy crust and is not soggy or greasy. I find it light, and very fresh. Superbly priced and quick. Love it! read more

I have been going to LaBrascas for over forty years without any problems-until last night. When we walked in at 9:30 PM a blonde was cleaning up around the pizza making area and if looks could kill I would be dead. I have never seen such a nasty look as she gave us. The dining area is always dark; however, there were people in there when we looked. Then the older lady behind the counter said, "The dining area is closed but you can get something to go." After the look from the blonde I would not have dreamed of ordering anything!! When we left I noticed that they close at 10:00 PM. We had looked at an internet site that said 11:00 PM so we did not purposely come late. However, it was thirty minutes before the official closing time and any good restaurant would have served us!! If only you knew,.. The place isn't about food. The food is as bland and unimaginative as it gets. Always has been. The place is about memories... We went to LaBrasca's when we were young and penniless, and when the food wasn't as important as the company. We were a ragtag dysfunctional pseudo family. We pooled our few dollars and hung together at LaBrasca's in the mid seventies like motherless children, instinctively knowing that someday we would become cynical adults, like everybody else always has. We were an aspiring rock band. We did the best we could, like every aspiring rock band does. We made jokes there, we plotted and planned our emerging adulthood there. Like everybody else, we abandoned our dreams and became adults. God bless the place. The time is gone, but the place is still standing, for the moment. Go there. The food is secondary. Dark and dingy decor. Salad is just iceberg drowned in mozzarella cheese. Pizza is no better than frozen, grocery store style. Won't return.

Terrible, and I am very upset that I wasted 25.00 and ruined dinner, when I was so looking forward to it. How are you in business LaBrasca? Is this salad a joke? A half of a single slice of tomato as the ONLY ingredient and brown iceberg covered in shredded white cheese, of the rubber variety. If you can't handle making the item, or cannot for whatever reason be bothered to stock adequate fresh ingredients like a cucumber perhaps--all the more galling because you are across from both Whole Foods and Bi-Lo--then TAKE THE ITEM OFF THE MENU! I feel like taking the uneaten pizza I got from you and throwing it on the floor of your business, because you just ROBBED me of 25 bucks. THE PIZZA IS INEDIBLE. Again, if you can't handle buying some oregano, salt, REAL cheese, and something that tasted better than ketchup, perhaps containing garlic, you know, like pizza--THEN CLOSE YOUR DOORS. The crust was unchewable, a fork and knife won't cut it, because you have no olive oil in the pan, or anywhere near the building. I can't believe I listened to someone that may have last ordered from you 30 years ago. If this garbage tasted this bad then, I have to assume the recommender is psychotic. Money and time doesn't come easy these days, and you have ripped me off. I hope this gets through to someone in your establishment, and you either go out of business or figure out how to cook a frozen pizza from the grocery store.
