    Dulce de leche latte
    Susan M.

I tried the dulce de Leche latte. It was good! I did take out because I was going to miss the train (missed it anyway lol) but the location looks cozy. It was definitely a busy sunday with several races in the neighborhood and it being brunch time. I see other comments mentioning rude service. I didn't think anything of it. Barista was concise with answering my question and it was such a busy moment. The coffee turned out delicious I have no complaints.

Great coffee in their cute yard!

Great spot to grab a coffee in downtown JC! Service is fast and friendly (order at the counter and wait to be called). They have a really good selection of coffees and beverages, including chai etc. and prices are reasonable. They have limited space inside, so please don't linger, but they also have a charming yard out back that's a good option when the weather is warmer. My go- to spot!

    Whyyyyy!!!

I walked in and immediately smelled toilet. Lo and behold, there was a toilet. Right there in full view as I stood in line. Everybody in the coffee shop was having a jolly good time and nobody seemed to care. I, on the other hand, was absolutely revolted. I lost my appetite. Why is there a crusty TOILET in full display right next to where the coffee is being made? How UNAPPETIZING!

Glad that bump into this place by accident. I was suppose to go to the other cafe and immediately LACK my eye with it. I've been there twice in a roll. Cute & artsy cafe where you can find spacious seats, art work, books that spark your creativity & inspiration, great place to mingle. Such a gem in JC, and I would love to bring my friends over. If the owner saw my review, pls HMU and I'd love to meet ya and I'm a designer if you need any helps!

Super cute spot and staff are very kind and helpful! I got a matcha latte, wildflower honey latte with macadamia milk, and a Dulce de leche latte! All drinks were amazing and personally loved the dulce de leche most (I like sweeter drinks)! Totally recommend! Haven't seen a lot of places offer macadamia milk, so trying that was fun! Saw some recent negative reviews, seems like haters review bombing for no reason? Overall great coffee and ambience! I love the pink tops too, such an aesthetic

Located 2 min walk from Grove st path station, this cafe has been on my wishlist since a long time. The cafe is located in the basement which can cause a person to miss it completely by walking past it. The ambiance of the cafe is good, especially the outside seating area! They have a ping pong table at the back for the patrons and it feels like being seated in a country side setting! I loved the outdoor seating ( you can check from the pics others posted). The service was quick, wish they had some more items on the menu as their bakery options were limited on a Saturday morning rush hour! I went ahead with the latte added with oat milk and it was good while having blueberry muffin on the side. The muffin was tasty enough! Overall a good experience.

Really great coffee! I got a lattee with an extra shot of espresso, normally comes with 2 I added a third. It had a perfect strong flavor yet milky and delicious. I also got a cheddar scone which was very good. I warmed it once I got home (I'd suggest you ask them to warm - as it makes it so so good). Scone surprisingly had a kick to it. Highly recommend!!

Loved their coffee! It is really good, had a latte and both temperature and taste were to mu liking. They alao have ham and cheese croissant which i love (however it was a but dry!) Ambience is nice, there is a patio where you can play ping pong Not adding 5 stars because both plain croissant and ham and chese were on the drier side and because the only have paper cups and not actual mugs which os a thing that I love when staying at the place for the coffee. Still, Perfect to go

Much lovely outdoor seating on the back patio!

Finally made it back to Lackawanna! This is one of my favorite coffee shops in JC to just hang out at, get work done, grab and go... literally whatever. Their coffee is strong (so is their wifi), the back patio is what dreams are made of and the baristas are always so friendly and kind. Can't go wrong with a stop here! I usually get a latte, cappuccino or something a little more fun but their black coffee is also great. Hot, strong and flavorful. They have some indoor seating, a beautiful back patio that I loveeeee. Seriously the perfect place to hang out and work. They charge for refills which makes sense if people do like to hunker down here for awhile, but just a heads up if you are looking for a place to get that endless flow of joe. Will need to return more and more as the weather gets nicer! That back patio is calling my name.

I didn't realize this cafe was hidden in a basement, so keep that in mind and don't walk past it like I did! I ordered an almond milk latte and an everything croissant to stay. But they only have paper cups and paper bags. The croissant was a little disappointing--the cream cheese makes it a bit stodgy. The latte was good, though a bit on the the thin side, and the barista who made it was quite friendly. The woman who took my order though was a bit stoic--no smiles there. It was nice to spend an hour there doing a bit of work, and quiet enough to do so. Even though its a basement, it gets a decent amount of light!

It's rare to find a place that balances a stunning, high-design space with such warm, attentive service. We explored more of the menu this time, and everything was just as impressive. The oysters were incredibly fresh, clean, briny, and perfectly served. Another standout that I'll definitely be ordering again. Between the atmosphere, the consistency of the food (super yummy), and the thoughtful team, Conwell Hall is quickly becoming one of those places you keep coming back to.

And I'm from Maryland (Murlyn), I don't mean a sno-ball. I mean that flaky, instantly melting ice carved mechanically using some kind of drill motor with all the torque, off a block the size of a dorm fridge and then topped with syrupy fruits and condensed milk and such. And this wasn't that either, but I now need to find a place for this near me. It was more like regular ice cream at a soft-serve consistency, topped with all the things-- that part was as expected. Hubs & I were thinking of getting two different things but we both wanted the mango madness, and then the checkout person said it was the size of a quart container. So just one then. I wish we got to see it being made up but it was full in there (at 10p, after the theaters let out), and they seated us and gave us a buzzer that went off almost immediately. We almost didn't finish it even between the two of us. Absolutely delicious, just overwhelmingly enormous. It could be a low-grade food challenge to complete it! And with all that fruit, actual mango chunks and a banana, it's practically a healthy snack. Gotta find one of these closer to home!

When you enter there is a bar you can sit at and two large high top tables next to it. As you walk further in there is a lounge with couches and various sizes tables. The whole space is surrounded by books! Heaven! We ordered a chai, matcha and a ginger cookie. Shout out to the woman taking my order for comping me my drink for my birthday! Everyone from the staff was friendly - I really enjoyed being there. The only thing I would say is someone should come by to check on the tables more often as I had to return other people's abandoned drinks. But you know what first world problems, am I right? Maybe they can have a sign or mention to customers to return their own cups before leaving. I sort of can't imagine why people don't... It is quite popular spot so you need to be very patient and strategic if you want to grab a table, as well as sprinkled with a little bit of luck. We unfortunately got there a little late. I went there at 3pm and hunted for a table and my friend got there by 330pm. By the time we ordered and started drinking our coffees - we were informed the lounge area will be closed at 4pm to prepare for the evening wine bar. Oh right this cafe turns into a wine bar in the evenings! How cool! At 4pm we thankfully grabbed one of the high tables - sharing it with another couple but it was large enough for the 4 of us. The lights dimmed and the atmosphere changed to more intimate. We unfortunately had to leave at 5pm, but I imagined picking up a James Baldwin book, ordering some white wine and enjoying both.... Mmm definitely next time. Maybe sometimes after work - sounds like a great wind down.
