Dr. Danishwar is amazing and honest not like other dentist when you go in and 10 minutes later you get a bill for a couple of thousands and that is after insurance. I had been going to the Ladera Dental Office since 2000. I have seen it change ownership 3 times. First it was Dr. Sarafian, then it was Dr. Mapura both Dentists were Excellent and Honest! Then in comes Dr. Danishwar. Who for some reason in my gut I never really trusted, and it's a very good thing I followed my instincts! I was told that I needed 2 teeth extracted and 2 bone grafts for implants from her office, which I did but I also got a second opinion and I did need my teeth extracted but the codes that was sent to my Dental Provider were incorrect codes for bone grafts, the codes were for dentures and not implants! If I had not followed my gut and got a second opinion, I would have been charged over $1,000 for the wrong procedures and for some reason I had the feeling that I did not want this dentist in my mouth, I was not feeling comfortable there period! I was getting the signs that now this place is all about the money. Things were always suggested that invol[[HIGHLIGHT]]ved spending more money. I knew if I had this procedure done there, I would eventually end up having it done correctly somewhere else! Not to mention when the second[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] opinion Dentist called Ladera Dental and asked for my X-rays I was told there was some hesitation from Ladera Dental in sending them! I was also shown the correct codes for the procedures that I needed from the second opinion Dentist from a code book that all dentists use for all procedures! I noticed that the reviews ever since this Dental practice was taken over by This Current Dentist have taken a severe decline! My suggestion to anyone considering on using this Dental Office, please seriously read the reviews since 2021 and 2022 and then ask yourself if this is where you would prefer to have your dental work done! I've been seeing Dr. Danishwar a while, 5-10 years. I originally had a glowing review. Things are very different now. 2 years ago, while she was on maternity leave, I came in for an exam with the person covering for her. That meeting ended because the lady covering, who mentioned some weird thing about being Zoroastrian, HAD TO tell me the evils of socialism, poor people are ruining the world, then some vaguely racist stuff. All because I'm on Denti-Cal / Medi-Cal. I'm parked in my car half a block away, crying, feeling violated, today, May 1, 2020. I hate writing this, but people need to know. Previous to coming in, I made clear "if that lady is there, I'm leaving" via text. That's IT. No need for drama, just setting a boundary. As I came in the optician they share space with was adamant on which spot of the empty parking I had to park in. Weird flex, whatever. I get in, fill out papers, excited to get help. I was assaulted in 2005; after I moved to Culver City, Dr. Danishwar made sure my PTSD wasn't triggered looking at my broken teeth in the mirror. If you see my old review, I really was happy here. I get into the chair, get x-ray of my busted tooth. The assistant asks me how I'm doing I say, "I didn't sleep well, I was scared of coming in. I had a really bad experience last time, I even called other places" (we're in the middle of CV19, it's hard.) I guess Dr Danishwar overheard this and arrives to the side of the chair, arms folded, eyes narrow, lots of gestures pointing at me to express the importance of her viewpoint. I try to listen, and speak in specifics. "I never said I hated anyone here, i just don't want to see that lady"... This goes back and forth a little, "I didn't say (bad thing she's taken personal offense to), I said (specific reason why I'm avoiding the other lady.)... It doesn't matter. I can watch her eyes scanning the room, and I'm getting more and more scared and uncomfortable and as I tell her this she either doesn't hear it or ignores it. She's continues to make assumptions and put words in my mouth, many more than I had a chance to speak. I point out that I don't like the body language of her pointing in my face, I'm a trained mediator and that stuff makes it hard for others to listen. She waves my chart around wildly, grips it tight, and jabs it with her finger counting up the today of visits I've had in this office. 9 visits. In about as many years. She seems to have a strong attachment emotionally to the history, but I can't project why. I start looking at the door, and feel myself shrinking in the chair, trying to be a smaller target, subconsciously. She changes back to what I was just talking about, body language, and tries to weaponize that: "Your body language is just the same! If you don't like it you can leave! I have children!" she yells. (no idea why their kids would be related to this) My hands are folded in my lap at this time and have been a while and I'm sitting in the chair, somewhat reclined. I'm waiting breaths observing textures, things I've trained myself to do when my PTSD gets its worst. She's looming over the chair from about 2 feet away, a few beads of sweat on her furrowed brow. I remind her again, I have PTSD, and this is triggering it, just like the other lady did. ...she proceeds to tell me how I'm saying things I didn't even have time to say, and then reacting to her assumptions of what these imaginary words mean. "There's dentists all up and down Sepulveda, I bet they'll take you! You don't have to be here!" Bingo. This is a tell. I try one last time to say, "I like it here, I don't know what's going on behind the scenes to cause this tension, I don't think I brought it in with me. I want to be here..." (not at competing offices "all up and down Sepulveda") "... It's just important to me to avoid that one person from last time". She repeats that I don't have to be there. So I start to get up and she insists on grabbing the paper thing on my neck after I ask her not to. I'm terrified. Everything is a blur but the door out from the exam area and the door to leave the building. She follows behind me out to the lobby, there's other people there that can hear her berating me. It's a blur, but she's making sure I know that I personally am "shit" and that's "why things are the way they are", meaning that I'm shit because I have PTSD and low cost Denti-Cal and her work is her pity for me. I'm still shaking and crying. I can't believe all this happened in the last half hour. Yelp will not be the only place I go speak out and try to protect people from this. Being treated like a human shouldn't require luxury level dental insurance. I just wanted my front tooth glued back on so I could smile again. If you can recommend another dentist in that part of Culver City please contact me. It might not seem like much, but every time I see the missing tooth it is a miserable experience. read more

Been going to this dental practice since I was 15. They have always worked with me with payment plans on any dental work that I've had done with them. I showed up to my appointment today explained I cannot pay $500 upfront I don't mind leaving my card on file for payment plan- which the office manager acted like it was such an inconvenience for her. She then offered if I wanted to do go through credit program which is not an option due to personal reasons when I would of offered to just keep my card on file and pay monthly which they know I'm good for. It's sad how much they changed and really don't care for the patient anymore. I will be finding another dentist. read more

I love this office, I love the dentists and I loveee the staff.. Been coming to Dr. Mapara for a while followed his office from Santa Monica to LA. He totally takes good care of me as well as his staff, very friendly and very personable. Dr. Mapara totallllly put me at ease when I had to pull out my wisdom teeth..Omggg I only had a total of 3 wisdom teeth and one of them was impacted..it hurt like hell and I needed to get them out already..Dr. Mapara like totally held my hand throughout the whole extraction he talked to me, kept my mind at ease and I felt totalllly comfortable when he was pulling them out..He really is a greattt Dentist and I'm sooo happy that it went soo smoothly..He told me step by step what to expect after and what I should do.. Miriam is WONDERFUL she's the one who does the Teeth Cleaning..I loveee talking to her, she puts me at ease and makes me laugh..and does a killer cleaning. :) Pros-the office, the office is all nice and clean, loooks like he did some upgrades to this place. Normally, I HATE dentists, but Dr. Danishwar is the only one that has made me feel comfortable enough to get my teeth healthy. One of the best things about Dr. Danishwar and her staff, besides being super friendly, is both the Dr. and staff explain what they do before during and after. Not to mention that when I went to get 2 roots pulled my appointment was at 12:30 and i was done by 12:45. She was so fast I couldn't comprehend how it was possible!!! Visited Ladera Dental Group a few times now since I moved to Culver City last year. I've been in for teeth whitening, wisdom teeth removal, cleaning, and fillings. Like most, I too dread my dentist visits, however I've always had the best experience possible with Dr. Mapara and his staff! First, the entire office staff is very friendly and the wait time is minimal so it's easy for me to make lunch time appointments. Dr. Mapara is thorough, provides his honest recommendations, and easy to talk to if I have any concerns. He is great at easing any of my nervousness before or during procedures. In particular, I was anxious about getting my wisdom teeth removed but during the procedure, Dr. Mapara made me feel calm and even made laugh as he pulled out each wisdom tooth and proclaimed "it's a girl!" or "it's a boy!". Everyone here is incredibly friendly. The dental hygienist here are professional AND wonderfully kind, especially to my ego and teeth. I love how they make me comfortable while still going to town on my "well-maintained" teeth.
