Came here on a Sunday for dinner. Cute and welcoming ambiance. Also, loved that they had a prayer room for those that need it. We ordered a chole platter, chicken tikka platter, dahi papdi chaat and the chapli kebab wrap. The platters were good portions (+$2 to the main dish) and it comes with salad, rice, and one chapati. The flavoring all around missed the mark for us. Everything was very salty and if there were any other spices, we weren't able to taste them. The lady in front of me didn't know what she wanted and the guy taking her order kept entertaining it when there was a long line behind her. Super loud screaming inside, the establishment does nothing to ask its patrons to quiet down a little or not make a mess. One table had french fries on the ground that I stepped on and slipped because of. In terms of food, we ordered chicken kebabs and chicken tikka. Kebabs were horrible right away, they added some daal to it and it was just very flavorless and bland. Chicken tikka was decent, but Zareens is definitely better. Not coming back here. First impression when we pulled up-what have we gotten ourselves into? You pull off the 6 lane city street and into a neighborhood and suddenly You are pulling into a gravel lots with abandoned cars and a food truck. You walk toward the small building with no windows feeling as though you must have made an error inputting the address, since it looks like you might walk into a dive bar. Rest assured you are in the right place. As we walked in, taking the place in, it is true the business has made improvements on the interior to update the restaurant. It's a long and skinny building with a counter in the center breaking up the seating area and the kitchen. The staff was extremely friendly and patient as we scanned the menu and appeared willing to answer any questions. As I am not wildly familiar with Pakistani food, admittedly I wish I could decipher a few of the words on the menu better. Some things I was not 100% sure if they were a meat or vegetarian-and I really wanted meat, so I ended up going with something recognizable-tikka masala, platter version. It was fantastic. One of my coworkers did the same, and the other got a wrap. The coworker that got the wrap said it was just okay. It looked like chicken tenders and shredded cheddar cheese in a tortilla. He said it was "just okay". The tikka masala was delightful, a great texture on the sauce, great rice, and the bread served with it was fantastic. The reason I took off a star is the overall location, the open-ness to the kitchen led to the dining area becoming very smoky and I left with my hair and uniform stinking like barbecue which was frustrating. I think closing off the kitchen would be more appropriate if they are cooking with charcoal as the menu suggests. I hope they can afford to add some windows for ventilation and update the aging restrooms as time goes on. The concept of this restaurant has major potential. Consider adding more photos or explanation to the menu for folks to explore(although my lack of cultural knowledge is not their problem, but I do feel people would branch out more on the menu if they could picture was was coming). Additionally there was a fancy ice/water machine with wet cups on the counter for use, but the machine was completely dead and no signage causing probably every customer who wanted water to attempt to use it, become frustrated, until theirs eyes stumbled upon a stainless water fill off to the side of the counter. While the food rocks, owners could turn this establishment into nothing short of spectacular with a little bit of additional decor. But A+ on the food. Coming to Lados was a very pleasant surprise, a true diamond in the rough. I've only had Pakistani food once before but remember really liking it. Lados came highly recommended for their chicken sandwich so I knew we had to bring my son who is a self-proclaimed chicken sandwich connoisseur. It is tucked in Sunnyvale's Orchard Gardens neighborhood but has ample parking as well as outdoor seating. When you walk inside, you are greeted by a pink neon sign that says, "Khao piyo aish karo" which means "Eat, drink and be luxurious." There restaurant is one long rectangular room with rustic tables, mirrors and modern industrial bulb lighting. It is minimalist with simple cultural decor as well as a separate prayer room. We ordered Punjabi samosas, Lados fries, the Zinger chicken sandwich with fries and the Tikka salad. The 2 samosas were perfectly fried with a tasty filling and came with 2 different sauces. I preferred the darker slightly sweeter one that also came with our salad. The chicken on the salad was tender and delicious and the proportion of veggies to chicken was on point. The Lados fries were good but not great as they were drizzled with a sauce that made them a bit soggy and I like my fries crunchy. The show stopper was the Zinger which is the biggest chicken sandwich I've ever seen and the Zinger sauce was the bomb. I dipped my son's non-soggy fries and samosas in it. Dare I say this may be the new Zareens cause they are FLAVOR packed!!! Amazing food like absolutely top notch craveable flavors. The zinger burger is a classic fried chicken sandwich (slightly salty in my opinion) with Indian spices but the wraps are what you should go for. Lados is a gem in the middle of nowhere. My bestest Sunnyvale buddy took me here and it didn't disappoint! We started off with an order of piping hot samosas which came with two delicious dipping sauces. For my main meal, I really enjoyed the chicken tikka parantha wrap. My friends have recommended Lados millions of times. This week we finally had a chance to check it out. Based on people's reviews, I picked the Zinger Paratha wrap (fried chicken) over the chicken burger. For the five of us, I got the crazy curry fries to share. They also offered us free chai tea in cups larger than the mini sampling cup. The restaurant didn't seem busy at all (3~4 tables eating or waiting for food), but some of our food took quite a while. The most confusing part was we got two Zinger Paratha wraps, exactly the same, yet one came out way earlier than the other (~15 minutes). We joked that the chicken was probably still being incubated. While we were waiting, several delivery orders were fulfilled, so I guess that explained why. Jokes aside, the food was delicious. Chai was the best I've ever had - rich yet not overwhelming, subtle sweetness. Zinger wrap was messy to eat but satiating - great for a day when you crave delicious but super unhealthy food lol. Chicken was perfectly fried - crispy and tender. The secret sauce never turned the chicken soggy. Also love that they put an extra piece of fried chicken on the side! Fries were great too, definitely on the heavy side. Couldn't taste much curry flavor in it though. Overall the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely a hole-in-a-wall place but it's a must try! The first time I went, I got the Chapli Paratha Wrap. I love the idea of a burger patty with masala seasoning in a paratha wrap. It's like having a burger and Nick the Greek type of wrap all in one! I love the spices used in the patty which paired really well with the veggies stuffed in the wrap. Best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life!!! This was my 3rd visit and they haven't failed to amaze me every single time. Showed up right at opening time at 12pm on a Saturday with no line. You order and pay from a kiosk which is convenient and fast and the food was ready in 25 minutes. I shared a Zinger burger with my friend because I learned from my past 2 visits that the portions are huge! We added a basket of wings to the burger order (6 pieces) as well. The burger came with fries, making the Zinger order close to $12 which is a steal for the large portions you are getting. The line quickly got long near 12:30pm so it was a good move to show up right when they opened. The burger itself is AMAZING. The crispy skin of their chicken is so unique in its lightness and flakiness. Definitely the best part. The burger comes with cheese, lettuce, and special sauce which added so much flavor. All of the different textures and flavors made for a perfect fried chicken sandwich. The inside of the chicken itself is extremely juicy and tender. We also got a side of chicken tenders and dahi puri. The chicken tenders were similar to what was in the zinger burger. The dahi puri were and order of 8 pieces. Flavors and sauces were nice but I would have preferred more chickpeas and less sauce, these exploded with yogurt and sauce. The place is in between townhomes and residential houses. There is a ton parking on the street or in their lot. A friend of mine who is Muslim wanted to go here for their halal selection of food. It was a hole in the wall spot because there is practically nothing around besides residential and a small commercial building on the other side of it. The interior space is large, with multiple tables and a large walking space. The service was quick with a gentleman taking our orders right away since there were not that many people on a random weekday. I was told their Zinger burger was the item to try, additionally, I ordered the samosa fries. We were able to get chai on the side in a small cup that was free to get. The zinger burger felt like a homestyle burger but the flavor was not anything memorable. I was more hopeful for a nice flavor punch but it never came, it lacked more sauce/flavor. WOW! I randomly came across Lados on Yelp and it is now one of my favorite places in the Bay. First off, I enjoy the contactless service during these times. When you go in, you order on the tablet and pay yourself as well. When the food is ready, they call your name and place your order on the counter. I also love how they have a public prayer room on the side of the restaurant as well. The Zinger is a fried chicken sandwich with a Pakistani spin, and it is definitely one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've eaten. The chicken thigh was extremely juicy and the dredge was crispy. The spices in the chicken and sauce were very deep and accentuated the taste of the overall sandwich. The dredge was a bit thick in some areas, my last bite was nothing but batter, but overall, very tasty. The Bomb Kebob was also the best Pakistani burger I've eaten. The spices were very apparent and the fries on the side are exactly what I look for in a fry. I've had a couple of Pakistani influenced burgers before at places like Mirchi Cafe, but none come near Lados. My only request next time I come is to have the bun toasted and the onion caramelized. The Crazy Curry Fries are also freaking delicious. I love the tamarind sauce on it for the slight tang. Ordered Weekend special Chicken Biryani and Paneer Platter which comes with Jeera Rice, side of Lahore Chole (Cholay), Paratha and salad. The chicken biryani (came with Raita aka yogurt on the side) was fresh but the bones made it less enjoyable. I would give it 8 stars out of 10. The Paneer platter was average - the star dish was the side dish, Lahore Chole (Cholay), which brought back memories of Punjab. I would get Lahore Chole on its own as a ala-carte item. 4 stars out of 10 for the platter but Lahore Cholay is the star which made the overall score 6 stars out of 10 (Cholay is 10 out of 10). The Masala Chai was ok. I would characterize the food as bar/food truck food. The service was exceptional and the staff was following Covid19 regulations.
