Came here after Monday night run club with a large group of around 16. They have plenty of seating and were able to seat us around 2 minutes after we came in. The rest of the restaurant was empty (Monday night an hour before closing.) The service was very kind and they were very patient with us. They have a good amount of vegetarian options. The vegetable dumplings weren't that great. there wasn't much filling and it wasn't very flavorful. I would recommend ordering the crispy tofu instead. The spare ribs in the Chen fun is such a good deal. Like $12 for a huge platter that could honestly feed two without anything else. The spareribs are flavorful and soft. The noodles aren't too heavy, but need to be soaked in the sauce. The stuffed tofu was soft and had shrimp inside. read more

The food and service was disappointing. The server kept trying to recommend dishes to us, but even after we said no, she put in an order for a dish that we did not order. She served it to us anyway, saying that she already put it in instead of giving us the correct order. We were at the large table at the far end near the kitchen, so the entire time we were eating, the 2 servers stood there and watched us eat. It was very uncomfortable, being watched the entire time. We enjoy going to dim sum occasionally but are put off by the sudden rise in pricing for each of these small plates across the spectrum of eateries. Additionally, the increasing popularity as foodies young and old discover the benefits of the dim sum dining experience, these places have become crowded as the old timers have rushed back after COVID restrictions were relaxed. Lady Chow promotes their dim sum offerings for a mere $3.99 per small plate. The deal here is that these reduced priced specials are offered between 9 and 11am. Dim sum literally translates to "a little piece of heart" as you will find that love goes into the making of each dish. Unlike some of the traditional tea houses, you get table service and order from a special dim sum menu, which admittedly is shorter in variety than those in restaurants that specialize only in dim sum, but by limiting the offerings they keep prices low and quality is very good. The restaurant is wonderfully low key, with gentle Chinese traditional instrumental music playing in the background and hot tea is served, included in the price of your food order. The siu mai and shrimp dumplings were wonderful and I loved the taste, though I found the lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice to be a bit plain in taste. First off, the wait was ridiculously long when there was little restaurant traffic. I had to inquire several times about my order only to get a response that "it's coming." Three different staff came to ask me the same question "what did you order"... I think this is the only restaurant in NYC area that has Chen Cun Fen (陈村粉) and savory crepe (咸薄撑).
