I wanted to grab something sweet for a cold day in Seattle for a Californian gal like me. I came across this place on yelp and wanted to give it a try. Upon arriving, I was awed of how cute and decorated everything was. I was actually more impressed on the different kinds of flavor macaroons there was that they made. They had seasonal ones like egg nog and many more exotic names with yummy flavor. Each Macaroon is $2 each and during their happy hour which is from 4-7? I think is $1! WHAT A DEAL! The customer service was amazing! They were able to help me out and welcomed me when I told them I was new to the store and the area. They were acknowledgeable with their macaroons and what is a good pairing with Champaign which who can not say no to Champaign?! Depending on the bottle and the brand the prices can range from $7-$15 I decided I wanted the whole experience so I grabbed about 6 macaroons and a bottle of their Champaign (I forgot what it was called) they provide you cold glasses for the Champaign. Everything was so yummy!!! Overall, they made my experience great! From their customer service, to their macaroons to their interior decor! It's definitely instagram worthy if you want some cute pictures or even a girls hangout place. Also, if you want some samples, they allow you! I happened upon this delectable dessert shop when I needed a last minutes treat for my work team. I was able to hop online and order 2 dozen assorted macaroons on short notice. I opted for a vendor chosen variety pack and was not disappointed. The macaroons came packaged in a lovely clear plastic box that was great as a display for the table top. Their colors were bright, beautiful, and inviting. This was the first time in the store- and I swear I must have acted like a kid visiting Disneyland for the first time. The clerk was so friendly and at least found me somewhat amusing over my sense of wonder- that she sent me packing with an additional bag of broken macaroons that were taken off display due to best no less than perfect. Lady Yum is a GEM of a place. The inside is cute and vibrant. Perfectly shaped, colorful macarons are displayed in rows. It's a small space, so if you're coming with a big group and hoping to stay inside, it might be a little tough. Macarons were all $2 and absolutely delicious! I've had a fair share of macarons from everywhere - Portland, Napa, SF, LA, Las Vegas, and more. Lady Yum definitely became one of my favorites. The macarons are crunchy and chewy with a delicious filling. They are not too sweet and bite-sized, so you can easily eat 5 in one sitting (which is what I did). My favorite ones were wild strawberry, unicorn (bubble gum), one with fruity pebbles (forgot the name), and raspberry Chardonnay. When I went, they had seasonal, holiday-themed macarons, which were delicious. $3 Brut and $4 Rosé were another huge PLUS for me. I got a glass of Rosé, and it was perfect with the sweet little macarons. They have a variety of sparkling wines like Mumm and Moët, and they are all very reasonably priced! The workers were so helpful, friendly, and nice despite the crowds. I was so pleasantly surprised by the decor, macarons, and the workers. I wish I lived in Seattle so I can come here every day! Macaron aficionado here! Our trip to Seattle distinctly included a stop to try Lady Yum and the macarons did not disappoint! The macarons were the perfect balance of a slightly crunchy exterior, with a soft and chewy, but not overly sweet or nutty, interior. They had some creative flavors which the kids loved such as circus animal, unicorn and bomb pop. They were delectably marvelous and we ended up making three Lady Yum trips and bought bags of their travel gift boxes to bring home as gifts (which everyone loved)! I heard that Lady Yum had some of the best macarons in the city so I had to try it out! I tried the early grey and espresso. The earl grey had a strong tea flavor but was a bit sweeter than I expected. The espresso was delicious! The best part was that the service was amazing! The person working that day was so welcoming and when we told her it was my friend's first time trying a macaron, she offered them one to test first! I came here today with my boyfriend to just try one macaron. I asked them which were the favorites and they said from the left, the first four or five but all the way to the right, they had a couple seasaonl flavors. There was one called magic cookie and apparently that's supposed to taste like a Samoa (the girl scout cookie) so I immediately ordered one of those. One of the ladies even added in a free salted caramel macaron for me just because my boyfriend was also there! It was so sweet of her!! I visited Seattle this weekend and accidentally stumbled upon this cute little shop. The lady working at the front noticed my friend and I looking in the store and invited us in with free samples of the macarons. We later came back and purchased several and she noticed that we were taking pictures. She not only encouraged our photographic escapade, but she also gave us a lighter so that we could light the candles on the table and made sure to give us the best-looking macarons. This whole place was decked out in the cutest decor - even the bathroom was the perfect place for a photoshoot! (There's a little wall by the bathroom that is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!) Received a box as a gift, and had them at about a day old. They were not the best I've had (already a bit dry), BUT, there were 2 things that really stood out: 1) the intensity of the flavors. I love love loved the different unique flavors, and how strong they were. Definitely not boring and lots of fun to eat 2) they tried very hard to package everything really well so that it can travel well and even Saran wrapped it so that the whole box can stay fresh. Macaroons are one of those things that if we have a fondness for them our expectations are usually higher than what we usually end up getting, leaving us disappointed many times. Lady Yum will not disappoint and all of your expectations will be met. I was not always been into macaroons, even when I lived in Europe I could take them or leave them. Living in Northeast Asia is what got me hooked and after I returned to the US I have been looking for some excellent macaroons. This Lady Yum location offers a nice selection of macaroons in a cute and intimate atmosphere. I was happy that when I was there there was some seating available so we could sit and enjoy our macaroons while we were walking around after Comicon. Their menu has their standard selection and then every month they add a few different specials so stop on in and give them a try. Sone of my favorites include; toasted coconut, s'mores, honey lavender, oatmeal cookie and chocolate mint. If I had to pick my favourite it would be a bit difficult because all of them are so good but I think I would choose the s'mores. Now that I typed that I wish I would have said the toasted coconut instead. They're both my favorites! It's too tough to just pick one. The staff here are knowledgeable and even let us try a sample since we couldn't make up our mind. I have never had a macaroon here I did not like so I say throw caution to the wind and try a new one each time you come but get some of your old favourites too! I came here with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. It is really small, but cozy and very cute! The interior design is lovely, and they have a happy hour where certain macaroons are $1 off. They also have wine and champagne to go with your macaroons. I tried many flavors since we all shared. My favorites are the fruity pebbles and salted caramel. Yum! The ones I did not like at all was the wildberry because it was too sweet, and the cinnamon one because it tastes like red hot cinnamon, and I am not a fan of that flavor for any candy. Overall, macaroons are very tasty and have a great chewiness. They have lots of flavors in all the colors (makes for a great instagram post), and new flavors they switch in and out. Came here mad tipsy one evening in search of something to satisfy my sweet tooth. Lady behind the counter was incredibly patient, bathroom was clean, displays and decor were adorable (and not too cluttered) and the macarons were absolutely delightful. I ordered a box of 10 (side note--they are the absolute prettiest thing you'll ever see; take a look at the photos! I almost couldn't bring myself to eat them). I've eaten almost all of them by now (3 days later). According to the shop, they keep for 1 day on the counter, 3 days in the fridge, and indefinitely in the freezer (not sure if it's recommended though!) I got so many different flavors, and each were a delight in their own right. None were too sweet, and all were wonderfully chewy. The Honey Lavender was perfectly subtle, the Oatmeal Cookie tasted like an ingenious oatmeal-snickerdoodle combo, the Raspberry Chardonnay had a little bit of jam(?) in it that made all the difference. We leave seattle tomorrow morning and I really wanted one last hurrah in this beautiful town. I found this weird dive bar, but it didn't seem perfect. I thought maybe dessert would be a better end to such a great vacation - and then my friend found Lady Yum online. The store front is small with little tables inside under glass chandeliers. It's cute and intimate and so very different from everything else. They have 20 macarons, including seasonal flavors. You can pick one at a time, or get set boxes. We chose a 10 pack for $20, 5 flavors for each of us. No regrets with any of the flavors, ranging from s'mores to passion fruit to oatmeal cookie. Then there's wine. They do bottles or by the glass. We had wine that I didn't select so I can't tell you what it was. But it was tasty and came in the cutest Lady Yum glass that I wish we could have taken home with us tomorrow. The girl at the counter was SO nice. She asked us all about our trip and gave us some of the old broken macarons we hadn't selected to try since it was almost closing. She also came over to ask if we wanted any chips or pistachios, but we said no thank you since wine and 12 desserts is plenty. There was only one other pair of people there, and I hope it's just because it was 9:30 on a Sunday night. Everyone should be at this place. I want them to stay open and be successful. I used to travel all the way to Kirkland to get my fix and am happy there is one relatively close to my office now (far enough away to where I don't go every single day!). They have the best variety of macarons. My top 2 favorites that they have year round are the toasted coconut ( really pretty blue color) and the AMAZINGLY addictive Salted Caramel! 5 stars for Lady Yum because I honestly don't know what I would change about these macarons. My boyfriend brought a pack of them home for me so this review is strictly for the macarons themselves and not the store or service. Macarons are funny because they have such a cult following on social media, presumably for their fun colors, unique look, and the ability to really customize them. But a lot of times the flavor and texture surprises people. They can be overpowering in sweetness and, in my opinion, that isn't the case at Lady Yum. I tried everything from espresso fudge to honey lavender and they all fell in that perfect balance of sweet without being unpleasant and overpowering. The flavors were spot on and the shells were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My other favorite thing about my Lady Yum experience was that I got to have one of their blackberry basil macarons in support of Suicide Awareness month (yes, this is a belated review). The only thing better than a delicious macaron is one that also does some good in the world. I'm so glad Lady Yum decided to open up shop in downtown Seattle. Kirkland is bit of a drive for me, so having this location close to home--it's so hard to resist coming here. The macaroons have rich flavors, great texture, and various rotating flavors. Came in post-workout with some friends late at night, the shop was still busy but the woman working was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Even though the display case was low in some macaroons, she went out of her way to get fresh cold ones from the back. Nothing is more satisfying than a crisp, cold macaroon.
