What a fun place! The large beer hall feels just like it came out of Germany. A light airy and…read morefully of energy space. Easy to read menu with many pictures. The wurst plate was the best sausage I have had in a while. A thick casing and flavorful meat. The potatoes were fluffy and the sauerkraut was pungent and delicious. You can get a spicy mettawurst - highly recommend! Salmon was cooked well and was a bit sweet with the sauce on top. The black forest torte was a large portion. Super good. Creamy and spongey cake. They will even pack it up and bring it out for you if you are too full!

She made sure my drink was always filled and out checked in on us alot. I realized I'm not a fan of German beer or food as a vegetarian. I had the super sampler. The pretzels are really good. The fried pickle spears are pretty good as well. Potato pancakes weren't bad but not my cup of tea. Couldn't tell you about the reuben balls but the people at the table said they weren't bad. Just weird. The steak spaetzilwas also a hit at the table. I tried a noodle which was like a dumpling and a mushroom. And again not my cup of tea but the table liked it. Lastly. The beer. People seem to love itbut as an ipa guy it was not for me. I had an original which was not too bad. Then the banana ish one which was not my thing. Either way the vibes made up for everything. It's not their fault it's not to my taste. Fun place just not my thing.

We stopped by to check out their Rudolph's Rooftop pop up last week. Normally I go to Il Tetto more…read morefor their rooftop vibes than anything and thus had low expectations for drinks. The decor was cute with lots of lights and several inflatable decorations like a Rudolph and a snowman. The cocktails were surprisingly pretty good! The Cornelius's Coquito was genuinely delicious and well balanced and while the Sugar Cookie Martini was on the sweet side, it was delightful. I also really enjoyed the refreshing Prancer's Peppermint Tea. The bartender who made our drinks was pretty nice and was very fast and efficient.

It's a decent spot if you just want to grab a quick drink from their massive list of draft beers, local ciders, or casual cocktails, and maybe snack on some fried mozzarella or a meatball hoagie while you hang out. The biggest drawback is that the service can be a bit of a gamble. There are times when it's noticeably slow and less than adequate, especially when it gets crowded on weekends. It's a fine place to grab a scenic drink if you're already in the Cultural District, but it's definitely more about the rooftop view than top-tier service or food.

My girl friends and I came after four years of me wanting to come here. I love Gravel Grinder and live close to an OTB so heard of Dancing Gnome from that. Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it. We ended up going to Grist House and it was a WAY better vibe and WAY busier...I wonder why. I should have known when their sign said no dogs allowed.
