    Buffet items + gumbo
    Ryan S.

Lagneaux's is the best cajun buffet in Lafayette. It's not the best one I've ever been to but it is real close. It's got a real cajun hole in the wall, mom & pop vibe. The seafood gumbo is very good. The fried fish, shrimp, chicken is all great and the seafood balls are wonderful too. These are the typical items I get but there's lots of other options including salad, dessert, pasta dishes, etc. And the kicker is this buffet is less than $20 per person. But eat what you take because they reserve the right to charge for wasted food. Love this place. I go often.

My friends and I drove in from Alexandria la to eat here. I feel the food was seasoned to perfection. It was my first time to eat here and I truly experienced cajun food. I had corn on the cob, red potatoes, boudin, catfish, etouffee, my food was all delicious. Our server was on point in making sure we enjoyed our food. The atmosphere reminded me of a good Ole maw and paw restaurant. I would definitely eat here again.

Took a little side trip to Laffy after seeing Lagneauxs consistently pop up on my timeline. There's a buffet offered on weekends and lunch hours. I have never trusted a buffet gumbo until I tried theirs. A little darker roux but overall solid for a buffet. The blue crab were perfectly boiled, wasn't too much a fan of the shrimp. Crawfish not yet on the bar but they do offer it closer to crawfish season for a few weeks. Overall a solid stop if in Acadiana.

Very good blue crab, seasoned all the way through. Some of the other items were also tasty. The majority of side dishes were average. I also have to say the server was attentive and pleasant. I would definitely go back for the yummy crabs and good service, if I'm ever in the area again.

We had the opportunity to eat here recently and I came away very impressed. Lagneaux's has been a seafood staple for years in Lafayette, part of the old restaurant legacy of the town. The food was exceptional. Boiled crawfish, shrimp, and crabs were well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fried shrimp were fabulous, as were a number of other items. The restaurant is clean and the waitstaff very attentive and happy. I recommend this establishment to anyone who wishes for a taste of what Lafayette has to offer, in terms of seafood. Keep up the great work! I'll be back.

    Delicious seafood buffet

Came here for my much needed seafood fix. I wanted to try the seafood dinner buffet. The waitress was pretty nice and helpful throughout the meal. It was rather busy so I asked another waitress for something to which I got a dry response from saying to wait for my server to be available to assist. That was a little rude. Besides that, I enjoyed the buffet. There was lots of choices to choose from. Everything tasted pretty decent.

The only reason it doesn't get five stars was because I thought the boiled shrimp would be spicier.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

As I am someone who was in the restaurant when it happened…read more I just think it's funny how you aren't mentioning y'all came in as 6 people and then wanted accommodations for 30 people during one of the busiest times of the night. Or that they argued with the amazing manager for nearly an hour total after being told they couldn't accommodate that size party. They're also leaving out the part where people from their group marched in and seated themselves, stood over occupied tables waiting for guests to leave, insisting the hosts clean the tables, and made the entire restaurant uncomfortable. This had nothing to do with race and everything to do with behavior. Any group acting like that would've gotten the exact same response. In short, do better. Y'all came in and ruined everyone's dinner because y'all don't know how to plan ahead. Stop blaming people for your mistakes and take accountability.

This may have been part of the reason its wasn't all that busy on a Tuesday lunch. Similar to some other restaurants in Louisiana I've visited, they have a side with a bar, to-go area and high tops, and a more family oriented side of the restaurant with a bunch of low top tables. Fried pork rinds are served with every table. They have daily plate lunches and the one day I came it was chicken fried steak. However, it's not usually a good idea to order CFS outside of Texas in my experience. Therefore, I ended up ordering the catfish and shrimp platter, served grilled instead and added a $5 strawberry margarita. The entree comes with a side salad but they only have seelct dressings and none which I would typically order, so i just settled on honey mustard. Margarita- for only $5 it's not bad and comes with either sugar or salt rim Catfish and shrimp platter - seasoned with a blackened seasoning but it wasn't spicy. The catfish filet was small and tasted like it was previously frozen. The shrimp were also small and didn't taste much better. Not sure I'd return if ever in Lafayette, as I was really looking for a more festive environment and more grilled options.

We tried a few different bites, and everything was exactly what you want from a spot like this -- flavorful, fresh, and satisfying every single time. Food: The food is really the main attraction here. Nothing overly fancy or trying too hard, just consistently good food that delivers every time. Everything we tried was solid, and it's the kind of place where you already know you're leaving happy before you even order. Service: Service was smooth with no issues at all. The staff kept things moving, and the experience was easy from start to finish. Ambiance: Billy's has that classic Louisiana stop-through feel to it. Nothing extravagant, but it doesn't need to be.
