The shrimp was good the rice could of been better my drink was pretty good and spicy! The fajita tacos had a good verde n red sauce to go with them but my most favorite part was the churros and ice cream! We went for my moms birthday ! The service wasn't great. I have been to Lago Mariscos twice, the first was Saturday 3 weeks ago, the second, Saturday 2 weeks ago. First, the food is outstanding! Portions are generous, presentation is just gorgeous, and the menu is just overflowing with a huge array of choices, many beautifully and honestly photographed. What you see is what you get, no smaller dishes, nothing missing. If anything, I understate what I have said. I hope part 2 which relates to service, was just due to the time frame we were there. The first, was the day before Mother's Day. The second may have been a graduation weekend, or overflow crowd because some restaurants were without power due to storms the day before. In both cases the service was inexcusably bad. The worst was the 2nd time, when I had invited 4 guests. A predicted 15 minute wait was 45 minutes. No water, no menus, seemed as if the 5 of us, including 2 well behaved boys, 7 & 5 yrs old, were invisible. Cutting to the chase, finally, after a polite complaint, we were not only served, but graciously served by an embarrassing number of the waitstaff. It was an hour from being seated, to beginning with queso and guacamole to much before actual meal service. We were there nearly 3 hours. My bill was $263, which I tipped 20%, happily, because they did everything possible to make things right. I will return, as will my guests, who live in Sugar Land, but had never been there. Now, about ambiance. Decor is spot on, not trite Mexican Restaurant, kinda hip, and open with high ceilings. Bonus, a spacious outdoor area wraps around one side, that overlooks one of the many creeks in the neighborhood. The patio has very polite ducks, who incidentally seem to realize they are not welcome inside. The stroll past the doors, and go on to visit guests. Go to Lago Mariscos! The food goes a long way to make up for service! read more

This place is a hidden gem. Just like its sister location in Katy (Vida Mariscos), they have great Mexican seafood dishes. The octopus served on a sizzling platter is awesome. Flavored with a Smokey paprika the dish is exquisite. Lago Mariscos is my to go place whenever someone wants to eat Mexican food... word to the wise this is not TexMex! read more

Stopped here last night around 6 for dinner with my husband and son. The guacamole is fantastic! The chips are warm and crisp and not greasy and the salsa is yummy too. We ordered jalapeno rellenos, mango fish, Louisiana fish and steak margarita. All were delicious and generously sized. Service was excellent. We will back for sure. read more

Service was pretty horrendous, we came in kinda early, so there was only one family other than us there. But the waiters and waitresses were standing around talking, took us around 20 minutes to get water, and we had to call them over to get it (they could've easily done it sooner)! First time to try this spot. Nice and clean with cool decor, beachy vibes. Menu has a great variety of seafood selections. We chose the fish tacos, mine were grilled and hubs were battered. Not sure what type of fish though. Prices are good, food is excellent. Tacos come with a nicely seasoned rice and black beans along with 2 types of taco sauce. Lime creama style and one salsa spicy style. Check this place out. Restrooms are clean but could use a deodorizer read more

Went here last night for my wife's birthday and was excited about the menu and food and atmosphere, ambience was good packed house, mariachis were playing music, and was fun. Ordered parrillada and octopus, the octopus was great the parrillada could come with more beef and better quality based on the price. I have had these at other places other states and in Mexico and they could be better, the poor young lady did her best to keep us happy, however with a pack house she struggled a little. Don't blame her, this is on leadership, they have to recognize when they are this busy you have to get your team some help. Overall it was good but not great enough for a 4 or 5 for me, suggest keep working on getting better and ask your customers, is the best way to get better, not one manager walked around to ask how everything was going. This can be the difference from a 3 to a 4 or more. Also what is up with the bread, just doesn't make sense for this type of restaurant. No chips and salsa? read more

This spot has Mexican style seafood. Ambience is cool. However, I went for Mother's Day and it was a complete fiasco. Waited over 1 hour to get seated at the bar after that we waited about 1 hour for our appetizer and about 1hour and some after that we complained about not getting our food. We were told it would take over 1hour more to get it to us. Total was almost 3 hours wasted to just get an appetizer and some drinks. The waitress was not apologetic. She was actually rude and stated that we should've ordered more appetizers due to the fact that they were so overwhelmed in the kitchen and food was taking longer than expected to come out. However it wasn't the fact that they overwhelmed because other people who arrived after us had food before us. They simply messed up and instead of making it right decided to be rude. I think food is ok, but the guy at the bar is either rude or racist...I'm not sure which one. A few weeks ago I came in and sat at the bar and it was at least 10 minutes before he even acknowledged me. There were only 3 other people at the bar. He saw that I was irritated and tried to act like he cared but also didn't offer an apology. I truly love the live environment. Each time I go, they have different entertainment. The bartenders are always on point. Mike the bartender is very attentive and observant. Absolutely the best soup called cáusela, ceviche, the chicken dish with shrimp, the salmon, and the aguachiles are the bomb dot com. They have mariachis on Fridays and Sundays and the staff is super awesome. There a manager named Jaime that is super attentive and just great with any special requests. As part of a school food review for restaurants in the area, me and a group of my peers arrived at the restaurant at 5:30p.m. to see how our experience at this establishment would be, as we observed details from service time, prices, food quantity and quality of the food being served. We were immediately sat down by the window with considerable hospitality and served drinks, with waters and a soda being delivered almost immediately. The environment was lively, with music and festive lights, and the seating arrangement by the riverside around the time of sunset helped provide us with an enjoyable experience. While it took some time to come around to taking our orders, we were still given ample time to make our decisions. When the waiter arrived, we requested one vegetarian option to which she obliged, and took our orders swiftly. We received our order within the span of ten minutes, which included a platter of $13 cheese quesadillas, $16 Chicken Enchiladas, a $6.99 serving of a chicken burrito, and a $16.99 serving of 2 siracha shrimp tacos. We realized that for the prices of several of the meals, the portions were underwhelming, especially for the quesadillas, which were considerably small in serving size for the price we paid. However, for the non-vegetarian meals, the quality of the chicken and shrimp were excellent, with perfect seasoning and crisp that makes the meal unique to this establishment. A photographing company gave us a complimentary portrait of our group and we were out of the restaurant in around one hour. Overall, the experience was good on the majority of all aspects excluding portion sizing, but the restaurant didn't fail to provide our group with a quality experience. read more
