It's a resort restaurant so expect so-so food for an expensive price. The view was nice - you can choose to look over the lagoon, the ocean, or the dolphins. The service was prompt and friendly. We got some cocktails which were good, a burger (standard) and fish tacos (good not great) - totaling over $100. Don't come here if you need to eat gluten free. The menu just says "gluten free options available." When I inquired, I didn't get a clear listing of options. They did have gluten free buns. Then, after I picked a burger I was told "oh no, the sauce on that has gluten" and this happened with two different burgers and two different sauces. Finally I ordered a bbq burger well done. It came out cold and unappealing with greasy patty uncooked meat in the middle, cold bun, and nothing bbq at all about it, zero sauce, just greasy limp bacon on it, and greasy limp sweet potato fries. I was told essentially ALL their sauces have gluten (questionable information) which basically means you can't eat anything on the menu. I'd definitely lost my appetite at this point. I did have to send the burger back and got the summer rolls which were mediocre but to be fair I was already pretty disgusted so maybe that affected my ability to taste them. Came here for lunch on 8/11/21 right after the Dolphinquest encounter. I ordered the Katsu Burger and boy was that a hit! Essentially it was a chicken fried sandwich between a brioche bun. Lagoon Grill is an enjoyable little restaurant located in the Hilton Waikoloa Village. All of the seating is outdoors, and the views overlook the ocean, Dolphin Quest and of course, the lagoon in the middle of the resort. Customer service was a tad slow at times, but the view, food, and overall ambiance made up for it. I guess you can't be in much of a hurry anyway, staying at a resort in Hawaii, huh? The menu consists of typical American food and standard restaurant bar fare with a few Asian twists like the summer rolls and chicken gyoza. Great news is that kids under 5 years old eat free. There are 3 free kids meal options. Food wasn't bad, and the prices weren't too crazy, considering the restaurant is at a hotel. The Grilled Portobello Sandwich was ok. They put balsamic vinegar in the sauce which was a little overpowering. The Chilled Vegetarian Summer Rolls were perfect for a hot afternoon. They were pretty good and tasted like your standard summer rolls but nothing about them separated them from other summer rolls I've had. The kids Grilled Cheese Sandwich is huge for a kids portion and is loaded with cheese. It came with a side of fries, fruit cup and a fountain drink. Overall, this is one of the best options for a meal at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Great view, good customer service and there is something for everyone on their menu. read more

While staying five nights at the Hilton Wiakoloa Village, I had lunch at the Laguna grill. I had their fish tacos with a side salad. This is a surprisingly large meal, with the fish tacos made fabulously. The presentation looked just as good as the taste. I had it at lunchtime and the way surprisingly short. Service was exceptional as I've experienced throughout the property so far during my stay definitely would recommend the Laguna grill for their fish tacos. Situated right next to the Dolphin Quest encounter at Hilton Waikoloa village it was a great place to spend a few hours eating, enjoying the drinks and the view. Located in the Hilton village; a premium hotel that is designed to come and not need to leave the premise for entertainment or food - the restaurants are HORRIBLE quality. We had a great time at the resort village but the restaurants will have us reconsider another stay in this very expensive hotel. Our 75.00 LUNCH for 2 started with calamari, which the waitress took off the bill and when we told her it was over cooked and really rubbery - she said that's more than over cooked- it's burnt to a crisp!! Then the burger and fries come out - while she was standing there I took one bite of a fry and apologized for being that person, but the fries were cold and old. She had a new plate of fries made - which were the best part of the meal. We didn't want to complain about the third thing we got (the burgers) but they were cold too and not even a good cold burger. I'm not a fan of Mickey D's but I would suggest their QP over a burger from the lagoon! The Hilton restaurants are in drastic need of improvement of quality! read more

This was my favorite restaurant at HWV. First, you can have an amazing view of the ocean, lagoon or dolphin area. Second, the seating outdoors is delightful with lots of umbrellas. Finally, the food is great (and not mention comes out quickly). We got a very reasonable kids meal each time (tenders and grilled cheese were both wonderful). And my husband and I easily split the fish tacos-- there were three so it was plenty. We also got a super refreshing strawberry smoothies on one of our visits. This restaurant is a casual sit down restaurant near the dolphin quest lagoon in Hilton Waikoloa Village. There is seating closer to the lagoon and seating closer to the ocean. We sat in an area with a great view of the dolphins. We orders appetizers to snack on while we waited to see the dolphins. We ordered the French Fries with gravy and chicken wings. The French Fries with gravy was unique. My husband said it reminded him of poutine Fries. It also had mushrooms in it. The mushrooms with gravy tasted good but I was still thrown off by the gravy on Fries concept. The fried chicken wings were tasty. It had the sweet chili sauce on it. I wish they gave more wings. Food averaged between $10-$20. Typical price for bar/pool food at a hotel. They do have a kid's menu and most items on the kid's menu cost $7-$10. They sell alcoholic drinks as well. I can see this being a nice place to relax and have a drink while on vacation. Overall, I may visit again in the future if I come back to Hilton Waikoloa again. read more

So, this place is a decent corner to enjoy a beer and some standard "American Fare" with the expected "Hawaiian Twist." There's not a lot of innovation on the menu - mostly burgers and salads, but their food IS tasty and hits the spot after a long day in the Lagoon at the beach. All that being said - the quality is consistently fresh and quite tasty. Prices are as one might expect from a Hilton property on Hawaii - a bit salty, but again, the quality does not disappoint. Our servers were attentive, and made us comfortable. My one real gripe here is that the beer should be ice cold, but is served slightly chilled. It would have brought out more flavor from my $18 "catch of the day" sandwich and side salad. We actually asked about the beer temperature, and they said it was the recommended temperature for the beer. *shrug* You're paying for convenience, and as long as you realize that, it's not terribly disappointing, but it would be nice to see this place transform into a kicking "Hawaiian Favorites" beachside bar and grill with some poke (not three flakes of ahi over a large bed of greens for $22), maybe taro, and high quality pulled pork sliders on sweet Hawaiian rolls. Oh yeah, and some ice cold, frosty beer. That would be great too... maybe next time! read more

A decent place for lunch or dinner near the water, serving American food like burgers and sandwiches. Though like everything in Waikoloa, be prepared to pay double. I will say the portions are generous, my BLT was loaded with bacon. My daughter thought the loco moco burger was "okay, nothing special". My wife had the beyond beef burger which was pretty tasty. All came with a big healing of tasty fries. Service was friendly though a little slow, especially with the dinner rush. Dolphins were playing in the lagoon nearby which was kinda neat. After our arrival, we were ready to eat a good meal. Someone at the hotel swore we couldn't go wrong with something from this place. The views of the lagoon and grounds is lovely, the food, as most at hotels, and especially on the islands, is high. I ordered the Kalua (might be spelled wrong) pork sandwich, which was good, not great, but good. Too much bread, tons of fries, but not quite crisp enough, and lacked seasoning. Our main problem was that when my partner in dining asked whether he should go with the Steakhouse burger ($20) or the fish and chips, our server said the burger was really good. He ordered it medium rare, and upgraded to onion rings as a side. The burger came out more or less well done; it was sent back. The server took the entire plate, came back with a new, slightly less well done burger and new, but now very greasy onion rings. And apparently we were being served in the European fashion, because there was zero ice in our glasses. I will say that we were on 3 different islands over 2 weeks, and this was only 1 of 2 not great meals! read more

For resort food, this is actually pretty good. I guess when you're visiting from New York City, the prices don't seem as unconscionable as some of these reviews make them out to be (interesting how many negative reviews tell you more about the reviewer than about the business!). The ramen burger, with teriyaki sauce and scallions, is quite tasty. The ramen noodle buns are well formed and stay intact when you pick up the burger with your hands and eat it like a real burger (I was half expecting it to fall apart, so it was a pleasant surprise). The loco moco burger is a deliciously messy Hawaiian classic, with brown gravy and a fried egg. The chicken wings are a reasonably generous portion. The seating area overlooks the lagoon, and you can watch the Hawaiian green sea turtles and the dolphins frolicking as you enjoy your meal. If you're staying in Waikoloa Village and do not want to drive for every meal, this is the place to hit up. read more

Lagoon Grill is one of the few food options when staying at the Hilton. Four stars for us because they exceeded expectations and factoring in everything it was a good experience. We had a $10/day food credit so we ate there twice. The service actually was very quick. We had the veggie burgers and Vietnamese Spring rolls. They were both solid but nothing to get too excited about. The prices are totally in line with resort expectations and the portions are pretty big. If you stay at the Hilton you will definitely eat here at least once. It's a nice location right by the dolphins and was about 100 steps from our Makai room. They currently are open until 8:00pm and have a smaller menu than pre-Covid so be sure to check out my picture for the current menu on 7/2/21. There are still enough options that everyone should be able to find at least one thing they like. Keep your expectations reasonable and you will have a great time! read more
