A few years ago there was a list that was put out about the 15 best green Chile cheeseburger. Overall the ones that were on the list have not disappointed. In my opinion a chile on a burger should never be too spicy that you lose the taste of the burger. Second, the green chile should be Green Chile and it should be homegrown hNew Mexico. So today the Laguna burger lived up to the challenge. The burger was perfectly layered with crisp lettuce, crunchy pickles, perfect tomatoes, melted cheese, a juicy patty on a sesame seed bun. The Chile was perfectly decided and season with a spicy flavor that was far from over bearing. The condiments were left to you to give it your own touch. Now as far as sides go the onion petals were great. The fries on the other hand not so much. I honestly think they have potential, being there early might have not not got the oil hot enough. They were basically a greasy soggy mess. But the Laguna bar was the star of this show. read more

Yummy! These burgers are great! The fries are awesome too. I always get the Laguna Burger with cheese, no chile or mustard. I don't do chile often and I hate mustard, obviously I'm not a Native New Mexican. The fries are crisp on the outside and just right on the inside. They have a small bar area and there's also a patio for nice days outside. It's usually quite busy, as the food is delicious. They of course have other items on the menu - hot dog, frito pie, salads, but why?! Why would you not order the most excellent Laguna Burger?! The staff is always friendly, and even when it's super busy, the lines moves fast. It's definitely worth waiting for. Food is consistently good, and I'll keep going back. read more

Two guys were walking out of Laguna Burger as I was leaving, too. One said, "Man, that was a damn good burger. (Rubbed his stomach) Daaamn good." And I'd have to agree. Portion sizes are huge and decently priced. I was able to buy a Laguna Burger, fries and shake for $15. Next time I'll get the Laguna Wimp, as the Laguna Burger was a little too big for me... even though THIS girl can EAT. One note though, there was nothing really spectacular about the bun. It was a regular sesame bun that crumbled midway through eating. I didn't mind eating it with a fork but utensils aren't readily available. One has to request them at the front. Slightly frustrated with our experience. We sat outside and saw a rodent (mouse) run into the fireplace and back out again. We were sitting at the closest table to the fireplace so we were extremely grossed out. We reported this to an employee who said she'd tell the manager. However, after that no manager came to speak to us, apologize, or ask what could be done. That's just completely unacceptable. Sadly we will not be returning... Went with my husband at lunch time for the first time at the location on 12th Street. It was crazy busy and the long line moved super slow, as we got closer we could see the kitchen production going 100 miles an hour! Then we noticed the lovely elderly lady at the ONE cash register who was super slow working hard to try and keep up with the fast paced crowd. When we reached the ONE cash register she was flustered, maybe confused and couldn't hear well. She asked for my driver's license and I asked her why she needed to see it, said , "didn't you order a drink from the bar?" I had ordered a Diet Coke. Management should be concerned not only for the sake of the customers but for the sake of the elderly lady. Rated a 4 , for that reason. Burgers were superb! read more

Let's just say that my favorite burger joint has been replaced by Laguna Burger! The burgers were all cooked to perfection with butter grilled buns. I had the Mushroom Swiss Wimp, which was not in any way wimpy in flavor. The mushrooms were delicious and the cheese was amazing. The fries came out fresh and crispy, with just the right amount of seasoning. My Wife had the iconic Laguna Burger, which was the perfect size for any appetite. My Son had the Smoky Burger, which is a pulled pork barbecue burger, which he said was the best burger in his 17 year life! We also added the onion petals with ranch dressing and the serving was HUGE with the perfect batter and crisp factor. I also added Green Chile Stew which was also tasty with a generous serving of tender pork loin. We just moved 5 minutes from here and I can't wait to come back for more delectable food! read more

You know, I really wanted to give them 4 stars, but just couldn't quite do it. First, let me disclose my bias. I'm a huge fan of the Laguna Burger off I-40 (the one near Route 66 Casino). So I do admit going in here with a certain expectation. That being said, the burger was really good (right on par with the original) although the green chile was really weak compared to the other location. Now, sometimes different batches have different heat levels, but sometimes places will use the lower heat ones at places they don't think can handle it. I'm not sure which the case was here, but it did make the burger less enjoyable. That alone wouldn't be enough to drop a star though. The fries! Ugh! Just awful. It's bad enough that they use way thinner fries here (almost shoestring) but then they burn them on top of that. I though maybe it was just bad luck but then I see the other reviews complaining about the fries, and I believe it's a systemic problem, not a one time oops. The lines are crazy long for having only one register open (was in line for 10-15 mins alone, then another 10-15 to bring food out). Overall, they are kind of lucky I did 3 and not 2 (the patio by the fireplace was nice enough to swing it up in their favor). It's way more expensive for less quality food. Do yourself a favor, stay on I-40, go up a few more exits, get the better location, with better food, for a better price (admittedly, with less ambiance). read more

I can say that their food is very good (when is warm) my burger and my fries were totally cold. I complained to one of the workers and the manager and they really didn't have an answer for me. I've never been to eat somewhere where the employees are so impersonal appear that they don't want to be at work lock the doors 10 minutes before they close and don't let customers in customer service sucks. Finally got a chance to try this burger place out. Had heard many good things about it. Great location, right off the 40 fwy. Easy to get to. Ample parking spaces for this restaurant but I was able to visit right before the lunch crowd came in. Nice, friendly staff members. Their menu had a wide variety to chose from. From their green chili burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and salads too. Today, I decided to try the Big Bad Bacon Cheddar burger with fries & the Smoky Burger. The burgers were cooked perfectly, juicy and tasty. The BBBC was okay. I'm guessing my burger didn't come with that much sauce, might have made a difference in taste. I still ate the burger, had to add mustard to give it more flavor. The fries were thin, not like shoestring fries. As for the Smoky Burger, cannot go wrong with that flavor combination. Let me start by saying that Laguna Burger is in my top 5 of burger joints in NM. Now, having said that, it DOES matter which of the Laguna Burgers that you visit. The best Laguna burger to be had, by far, is at the location in the town of New Laguna. The second best is across I-40 from Route 66 casino. Today, 6/26/18, I visited the 12th Street location with my best friend from college. We ordered and then waited about ten minutes for them to bring out the food. The fries were not as thick (and a bit dry), the burger was not as juicy and fell apart as I held it. The sesame seed bun was a bit stale. I think the amount of green chile they put on the burger was half the amount I usually get and it didn't have any bite. A Laguna burger has a generous amount of grease and this one had none. I'm not sure if this location is cooking its burgers differently or the patty is from a different supplier but this location had sub-par burgers. Stay away from this location and visit the one in new Laguna or across the highway from Route 66 casino. read more

This Laguna burger doesnt do call in orders?! Every time you order a burger its cooked fresh and takes at least 15 minutes!! Absolutely ridiculous to make children wait when we can call ahead 20 minutes before like the other locations and pay and eat. Smh. Also the meal is about 2 bucks more than the other locations and doesnt include a drink which is 2.10 more as well. We will be driving the additional 10 minutes to the Laguna burger 66 pit stop at exit 140. I recommend everyone else do the same. Decent food but every time we go the staff is rude. We have never heard a "thank you" in the several times we have gone. Today, after reading the website regarding gift card sales, I asked to purchase gift cards and the manager/cashier just said " no." No explanation or apology. When I asked if I could get them online she just said "gift cards crash the system."
