Walked up and ordered quickly no waiting. Received our drinks before sitting down. The cashier was friendly and got it right. The first time ordering the calamari and I must say it didn't disappoint and was very tender and flavorful dipped in seafood sauce. That's what I prefer with a splash of lemon. Another great aspect to this appetizer that I loved is ever so light breading. Left more of the calamari to savor. The fried cod and shrimp were also prepared with very light breading, leaving the fish and shrimp tender and moist. I paired the meal with fries and Cole slaw. The interior offers a splash of sea memorabilia with boating and beach art. They also have a television for viewing. This is the only fast food seafood place out thus way, and they are pretty good. They are expensive, though - more than the average fast food place. They are part of the Bill Miller enterprise, so they are locally owned. I used to get the fried oysters, but they don't offer them anymore. I now get the fried shrimp, which are quite good, as are the hush puppies. The French fries are always soggy. They are served in the same container as the entrée, which is why they are that way. I really wish these places would put the fries in a separate container, like Whataburger and McDonald's do. The service is good, and they usually get my order right. read more

The staff was super friendly! They were able to help me decide what I wanted and wanted a little bit of everything. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed my tacos! The shrimp and fish tacos is amazing, i love the corn tortilla it comes on, its not soft or crunchy, but thick enough to hold everything in. I got the fried shrimp and grilled fish! The sauce is super good. The cod fish fillet and grilled shrimp Mexican style plate is so good, i love the grilled onions, tomato and bell peppers. The butter they use in the sautéed rice is yummmm. I haven't been there in several years and had a craving for fried fish. I ordered a standard lunch combo of two fillets, fries, slaw and tea. It took 20 minutes to get the food when it wasn't terribly busy. The slaw and fries were good but the fish was no better than Gorton's frozen fish. Finally went to try this out after hearing good things from many folks. The food was good overall and good quality and portions for the price. My wife had the grilled fish and shrimp combo. Decent flavor on the fish and shrimp was good size. I had the chicken fried steak combo. A little heavy on the breading but the steak itself was tender and not overdone. The sides were good portions and fairly tasty. I had slaw and thick cut fries. My wife had slaw and green beans. We also got some hush puppies which had good flavor and can't beat 5 for $1. Service was excellent with the food hot and fresh. They were really quick to clean up tables and the cleanliness overall was excellent. Door Dash delivered these meals, so I do not know which restaurant made the order. I called the restaurant closest to me and told them my last name. They reported that there was no order for a person with my name. I was told that I would have to call all of the other stores to find out who prepared it. I looked at the receipt and they had my name as Kevin Dd. My last name does not have a D in it. I When the order arrived the shrimp were cold. It arrived without any cocktail sauce. I eat at this location frequently. The staff are always friendly. I love the fried oysters and the fried catfish. The oysters have a great flavor and are lightly battered. The catfish is never dried out or overcooked. I have only tried the fries and coleslaw as the sides and I don't have any complaints about them. I did try the gumbo once, and while it did taste ok it is not what I would call authentic (I am from louisiana). I plan on trying the clam chowder or macaroni and cheese at my next visit. The food is cooked to order so depending on how busy they are, you may have a slight wait. read more

I ordered the Mexican Style Shrimp Cocktail...not really worth $5.25. I don't like my shrimp sliced and I don't know how they came up with the idea. I like whole shrimp. They slice the shrimp in the Gumbo also. The gumbo was flavorful, but the sliced shrimp was a turn off. My plate was fried shrimp and oysters with slaw, fries and a hush puppy. The shrimp was okay and the oysters were very good and not over breaded.. I've always liked Bill Millers ice tea and Laguna Madre was not an exception as they have the same tea as Bill Millers...which is very reasonable (small .99 large $1.89)...and you can get refills. I had a piece of Key Lime Pie for dessert. All in all...it was pretty good for a fast food place and I'll probably stop by again. read more
