My wife and I came here after returning from Fredericksburg Wineries for some Sunday afternoon food. Upon arrival we were sat promptly toward the back of the restaurant. Not sure why we passed up so many other tables in the front. It took a bit for us to be greeted by the waitress , however it gave us time to decide what we wanted . One she came over we placed our order for a salad with chicken and short rib pasta. After about 5 minutes the waitress came back to say they were out of both. We then ordered a plan B item. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our food. I had the Lasagna and my wife the bolognese pasta. They were both served hot with red pepper flakes and was pretty tasty. We enjoyed the food but service was extremely lacking and it was not busy at all. Will stick to the location at the Quay. read more

Came here for their happy hour. Everything was delicious minus the fried chicken. We tasted the garlic Parmesan and the spicy honey, both were over fried so unpleasant to enjoy. I had to request the Caesar salad be switched since they only game me the butts of the romaine vs the front green half. The fries were delish, especially the sauce! The shrimp was a bit too lemony and the muscles were great if you enjoy a tomato based sauce. However everything else was still enjoyable (minus the chicken). And the waitress was friendly and very helpful and accommodating. The ambiance is nice there are TV's to watch games and etc. and enjoy the decor and music playing in the background. Girls night out happy hour: pam took amazing care of us; to include 8 of us deciding on drinks and food from the Piatti menu, happy hour menu and restaurant week menu choices. She checked on often and made sure every beverage and plate were perfect. Manager also stopped by a couple times and even grabbed empty plates. Drinks were perfectly crafted and creative. Try the piatti spritz for a fun and refreshing burst of flavor. The food was amazing! From great crusty bread with dipping oil to short ribs, to shrimp scampi, to pizza, to cesar salad (complete with anchovies), to zucchini noodles and more. Absolute perfection in each dish. The setting is nice in the LaCantera area. The food was just okay. I wasn't that impressed and felt I'd get the same taste at Olive Garden. The service was great and the waiters and waitresses were superb. We had the bruschetta for an appetizer which was on a huge piece of bread, mussels and ciopinno for dinner. We've had it better at other places and I have made better mussels and ciopinno. We've ended with the tiramisu which was a huge fail in my opinion. For the price of the food and the taste I won't be back. It was great to give it a try though. I've been all over Europe and have had actual Italian food and this isn't it. Take a tip from me: if it has any kind of Alfredo on the menu either pass or have 0 expectations as it's not real Italian. read more

I was on a girls trip @ the time share hotel within walking distance to this restaurant. We were hungry & decided to check this place out. I wasn't super hungry & didn't want to be eating something so heavy late @ night so I was able to get a side of tag pasta with Alfredo sauce. $10 for the pasta & I got charged $3.00 for the sauce. I was bummed to find out that they don't serve alcohol seltzers here so I went with Tito's & soda @ $12.00/drink. We had the zeppole which IMO weren't that great. Our waitress was Karin S. We dined on 05/19/2024 around 9:30pm. We got there close to closing time so we didn't spend much time here. We were seated on high top tables which weren't my favorite. Decided during vacation that I was in the mood for some Italian food this past Sunday night, not just any Italian food but authentic, homemade Italian. So I looked up the best pappardelle pasta in the area, and this place popped up. So, I made an online order. I ended up getting 2 items, Short Rib sugo and Spicy Pepperoni Flatbread. Everything tasted and looked homemade. The first bite I took of that Short Rib sugo, it melted in my mouth almost instantly. The pappardelle was a perfect al dente. Some of the pasta was stuck together because it was in a togo container, which is understandable. If I was able to eat there in person, the pasta would be that much better. The spicy Pepperoni Flatbread had that perfect amount of spice. It's not in the Pepperoni but in their marinara sauce. Both items were so good. The service was amazing all around, from the host to the manager, and it wasn't even busy. Next time I'm in San Antonio, I'll come eat there in person. I will definitely be back. read more

Took my son here for his birthday dinner and was highly disappointed. The food was ok, not the best. The service is what really upset me. It was Sunday afternoon, we had reservations and the restaurant was not busy. Our waitress was MIA for most of our time. All the waitstaff was congregated over by the bar. We had to wave down another waiter to help get refills. My bill was pricey for 5 of us which would of been ok but not for what we received. Ever since the remodel this place seems to have gone down hill. I must say I had been here before the remodel and it used to be one of my favorite Italian spots. We came here on a Friday night to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had reservations, but still had to wait a little longer than I would expect. It was very busy, so nothing to be upset about. We valeted at the main hotel valet which was not complimentary. There was complimentary valet right next to the restaurant which we did not know existed prior to arriving. There is also a small parking garage that I is free during the week, but not sure on the weekend. Our reservations said that it was my wife's birthday and they had a menu that said "Happy Birthday!" On it, but I think it was the normal menu. We started with the beef carpaccio which was a very generous portion for two people. My wife got the chicken puttanesca and I got the short rib. Both were great and more than enough to take home left overs. We ended with tiramisu which was also delicious. Our server was great and very attentive. She wished my wife a happy birthday multiple times. The restaurant is kind of small with a small outdoor area. The noise level was a little loud, but not too bad that we couldn't have a conversation. read more

Had this place recommended to us on a girls trip. We walked in 30 mins prior to closing and staff was so kind. Every single person said hello and that someone would help us ASAP. The place is so cute and reminds me of an old library or study room for a detective. Food was pretty tasty and I enjoyed the proper portion size. I didn't feel like I over ate and didn't need a box. I was assigned to work with KIMBERLY WEBB, their so-called event coordinator. Let me be clear -- KIMBERLY WEBB IS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT and has NO BUSINESS coordinating anything, let alone events for paying customers. For OVER A MONTH, we went back and forth planning this event. She barely responded to emails or texts, made everything unnecessarily difficult, and somehow dragged out what should've been a simple dinner reservation into a mess of confusion. She sent me a PRIVATE DINING MENU -- clearly labeled "FONTANA ROOM" -- and I selected a full custom menu that was DOUBLE THE PRICE of their normal menu. DOUBLE. Why? Because it was supposed to be a PRIVATE EVENT. A few days before the dinner, I texted KIMBERLY WEBB to confirm everything and she had the AUDACITY to respond, "WHO IS THIS?" Are you joking? After weeks of planning, she acted like we had never spoken. Day of the event -- I arrive, tell the hostess we have a private dinner booked. She looks at me confused. Turns out WE WERE NEVER BOOKED FOR THE PRIVATE ROOM. There was ANOTHER party already seated there. The manager tries calling KIMBERLY WEBB -- SHOCKER -- she doesn't answer. She was UNREACHABLE on the day of the event. And guess what? The A/C WASN'T WORKING either, even though KIMBERLY WEBB told me directly that it was. It was miserable and hot inside. Instead of a private room, we were sat in the MAIN DINING AREA -- just like any walk-in customer. No privacy. No special setup. NOTHING. So what did I plan and pay DOUBLE for? Why did I spend hours customizing a menu if we were going to be seated like regular guests? Let's talk about the $250 extra hour charge she quoted me -- WERE WE GOING TO BE CHARGED THAT FOR SITTING IN THE MAIN DINING ROOM TOO? This entire process was MISLEADING, UNPROFESSIONAL, and FLAT-OUT DECEPTIVE. KIMBERLY WEBB CLEARLY DOUBLE-BOOKED THE ROOM and instead of owning her mistake, she GHOSTED us. Her lack of communication, accountability, and basic competence RUINED what was supposed to be a special occasion. PIATTIS AND KIMBERLY WEBB SCAMMED US. We were lied to. We were overcharged. We were humiliated in front of our guests. Never again. read more

A/C does not work! I don't think it's just the restaurant but the side of the Elian. Fans had air circulating but was not enough. Good service and food was great but waitress seemed a little annoyed that I kept asking for fans as we had a pregnant woman in our party that was super uncomfortable. We all left a sweaty mess and there was no apologies or compensation for the miserable heat! I wish they would've said they were having a/c issues when I booked we would've went elsewhere. I got the chicken alfredo spicy pasta and it was pretty good and saucy. I liked the noodles but the portion for the price was poor. It was a $25 dish and there were only 4 pieces of chicken. Went on a Friday night and recommend to make reservations! Great selection on food, we had the bread with garlic olive oil and that was filled with garlic so delicious! My family was terribly disappointed with our whole experience at Piatti at Eilan this evening. We arrived just 10 minutes before our reservation. The restaurant was not crowded for a Saturday night. We waited for out table approximately 10 minutes after our reservation time. Finally seated, we ordered an appetizer and drinks. The waitress was sweet and very helpful but we were very dissatisfied with everything else about the restaurant. We waited just under one hour after ordering for our meals to arrive. We received an apology from the waitress for the lateness and she let us know that she did let the manager know The manager never graced our table to welcome us or to apologize. This was a special occasion, celebrating our daughter's promotion as noted on our online reservation but nothing was said and instead, was treated very poorly. Before leaving the restaurant, I stopped in the restroom and found no soap in the dispenser and the sink stopped up. In the past, we very much enjoyed Piatti and was looking forward to taking our two daughters to celebrate. We will not return to this restaurant again. read more
