This used to be my go to place with my mom for happy hour years ago at the location near HEB on Leon Springs. They used to have the best happy hour and the most delicious food. We came here for a late lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy and we were sat right away. We started with the oyster trio which was a nice way to taste their different oyster options. I keep forgetting why we don't go here. Cajun/Creole/New Orleans style food is generally packed with flavor. This is pretty bland. The shrimp on my scampi dish was tender but the pasta was underwhelming. I doctored the pasta with salt, Parmesan, and lemon from my water...otherwise the garlic, capers, shallot, and tomatoes had no flavor! If I had some blackening seasoning in my purse, I would have used that. My dining companion had Cajun pasta... equally underwhelming... you can't fix overcooked chicken at the table... If you don't cook, it was fine. It wasn't inedible... we were hungry and finished most of the plate. It just didn't have that, "I need to back for more" lure. We went for an early dinner. Service was great. As soon as we sat down they give you warm fresh bread and dipping oil. We had crab cake for appetizers. Very good. Not a lot of breading. Husband had mahi-mahi and I had the salmon and they were both seared to perfection. House salad vinaigrette was also very tasty. I wish I took pictures of the food but I don't often leave reviews. Even my mashed potatoes were greasy and dripping in oil. My spouse had the Diablo red fish and it was so salty and over spiced he could not finish it. The staff was really amazing. I was pleasantly surprised with our dining experience at Bourbon Street. Restaurant is literally 5 minutes from our house, but never made an effort to try it out until now. Bourbon street reminds me of a smaller scale, more local, quieter Pappadeaux. Both have similar themes and cuisine. There are white tablecloths on the tables which gives a more "upscale" vibe, but I still think it's more on the casual dining side. Service is very friendly and helpful, but a little slow to start. We started out with drinks and 2 appetizers. The fried calamari and oysters bourbon street were really good. Drinks were made very well and strong! This was our second or third time at Bourbon Street and I've got really mixed feelings about it. Each time we've been there, it was not crowded - so much so that we almost didn't go in. We walked in and the floor by the front door was sticky - like a soda was spilled and not cleaned up. The food was good - I had the shrimp creole with dirty rice and it was really good. My wife had the linguini Mardi Gras and she said it was fairly bland. Portion sizes were very good! We sat at the bar and the bartender was more interested in talking with one of the regulars than providing good service. I've been going to this place for years and I'm always extremely happy. They have a great lunch menu. My favorite thing on the menu is always the bourbon street shrimp. Well....if you need your cajon fix, this is THE place to do it. We couldn't make our mind up on the apps, but settled on the Oyster trio...the Oyster Bourbon Oyster was the Hester of the three. Janie had the Shrimp and grits and while I'm not a fan of grits, she gave it a thumbs up. I couldn't decide and gave the final 3 choices to our waitress to choose and surprise me. She brought the Red Fish Diablo out and....well, it was off the charts amazing. The restaurant itself was not very busy for lunch on a Sunday, which was perfect for us. Hostess - Sukai - 5 stars. We had a lovely dinner for two at Bourbon Street Seafood last night. We arrive w/o reservations @ 6:30p. The restaurant was not crowded and we were promptly seated by the hostess. They have an excellent cocktail menu and my wife enjoyed her French Manhattan (Chambourd) and I, the Classic Manhattan. I ordered the Combination Gumbo as an appetizer and it was outstanding! Loaded with seafood, chicken and sausage. I had the Seafood Jambalaya for my main course which was loaded with seafood in an excellent spicy rice. My wife raved about her Grilled Ahi Tuna salad and it looked delicious. We were too full to enjoy the variety of desserts offered, but we'll return soon for another try! read more

on June 18th four of us went to Bourbon Street Seafood Kitchen on IH10. We had a server named Marc who gave us the worst service we've ever experience at any restaurant. On the following day I called the manager at that location only to be dismissed rudely and excusing the issue by saying it was busy and short handed. Trust me 80% empty restaurant is not by all means considered busy. We even went early(5:00 P.M.) to avoid rush. I proceeded to write letter to owner of this restaurant to inform him. If the owner responds in the same manner than we are done with that restaurant. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from in San Antonio that have good food and excellent service. we do not go to restaurants for dinner to be mistreated. Once again, I was eating with a group of retired teachers. We met there for a monthly lunch at 1:30 PM. This was our first visit as a group to this restaurant, as well as my first visit ever. I had a little trouble getting there, because Siri took me to the wrong exit and told me I was there, when I was obviously about a mile away. Anyway, I had seen it on the other side of the highway as I was driving out, so I just U-turned, and went back. We were supposed to be a group of nine. Unfortunately, only six of us showed up. They were very accommodating to us, and did not seem to mind that we were using the big table set up for nine people. Nobody in our group ordered any appetizers. One lady ordered a drink. I ordered a beer. The beer was supposed to be an Abita Andygator. The beer I was served was an Abita Amber. No big deal, as I have had both of them before, and wasn't trying to get a new count on my Untappd profile. The large bread rolls that they served before the meal were very good. A sandwich would be good on them for sure. The bread was chewy and tasty. I enjoyed whatever the dipping sauce was that they had on the table to go with it. I ordered the Cajun combo. It was a blackened fish fillet on dirty rice served beside shrimp Creole on white rice. I liked the shrimp, but I will say that all of the rice under the fish and shrimp was a bit overdone snd mushy. Also, the blackened fish was saltier than any blackened fish I've ever had. All I could taste was the salt. I would not order that again. Our server was a very distinguished gentleman. He was very nicely dressed and had the air of a long time professional server. He answered our questions and took good care of us. The atmosphere was very nice. I liked the design of the room we were in. It was very comfortable, but not too crowded. That's pretty much all I have to say. I would go back, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice. And, I definitely would not eat the blackened fish. read more

Found this little gem on the north side of the riverwalk! Not that crowded but the ambience was perfect with a live saxophone playing. We had the oyster trio (7/10), the clam chowder (10/10), and the mahi mahi New Orleans (9/10). The oyster trio was a little too heavy and cheesy for our taste but a nice sampler of the different cooked styles. The clam chowder was amazing and well balanced. We came to this branch for our quick weekday Valentine's Day dinner . Since I was working at the nearby La Cantera Resort which was just a 6-7 minutes drive . For Valentine's Day they did not require reservations but rather walkins on a first come first serve basis . As soon as I hopped out from work at 6pm my husband picked me up and we drove straight to this restaurant. We were lucky that upon arrival there was literally no wait time and we were seated right away and just like that after we ordered our food in a matter of 10 minutes a lined had already formed in the hostess reception . I ordered the Bourbon Street Shrimp while my husband ordered the fried shrimp and catfish served with fries . The Bourbon Street was so flavorful 4.8/5 while the fried shrimp and catfish was average . All in all I could say it was a much better experience than the first time we dined at the Bourbon Street Riverwalk branch inside the Wyndham Hotel by the Riverwalk . The place was a bit dated and dinghy compared to this place which is much more presentable . Since we also live nearby just 5 minutes drive away , we will return again for our Cajun food cravings . read more

The Mussels was soo good and creamy, would be so good with pasta. The fried oysters not on the menu, but you can request, it is very good, i love the sauce that comes with it. The fried calamari is huge and thickly sliced, i love it with the hot marinara sauce. The Mississippi catfish is a good dupe of pappadeaux. Delicious dirty rice, with shrimp and crawfish bathing in blacken sauce. The catfish is good portion, good for sharing. The gumbo here is too notch, good consistency, not runny like others. The seafood fondue, cannot go wrong with this delicious, hefty amount of seafood and spinach. The shrimp brochette was good, but not my favorite from here. Comes with 6 large shrimp wrapped in bacon and cheese, it's good but I prefer the catfish. The Oyster trio was also very delicious, they all started to taste the same to me.
