For my review #420, I'd like it to land here at 'Lakeshore Learning Store,' Pasadena, CA. I frequented this branch was because I used to work in Arcadia, CA. during the 1st year of the Pandemic. I've stocked up my own Felt story sets here, but then later I found out some of the 'Felt Board' story pieces turn out cheaper from Amazon. Still I would need to stock up from here. Since I always work with extremely young kids, I've needed quite a bit of materials, Lakeshore Learning Store never disappoints if you need something in a hurry and can't wait for Amazon that is. My earlier visit today on Friday, Dec/9/22 was a fabulous experience yet again~I was provided individual service and care since I was shopping the poster section for my upcoming classroom. I must have stocked up 1/2 dozen of posters and a sales lady walked over to check on me. She even helped me Laminate my classroom's posters! All I need to do is cutting them individually. I've bought my Circle Time Calendar here as well. Of course, I stocked up on another 1/2 dozen of ECE books but already got a ton at home. Will most likely return here again for another trip of classroom supplies next week. Upcoming new job from Arcadia, CA. again will allow us teachers a budget reimbursing us, but I make sure I don't overspend. The books will be mine to stay with me though then I'll just bring to work by the week.

Lakeshore acronym: Learning focused A place to get classroom items K - okay pricing Excellent service and Smiles Hospitable customer service reps Oh they have good A.C. Respectful & really good hours of operation Every-time I go, I get a coupon or free tote Today I got this cute bag for free just by asking if they had any coupons. I joined the text discount program and got a free tote and coupon on the spot! Thanks for helping me be a better teacher, Lakeshore.

This store is so AWESOME! I work for a middle school and i have a blast coming here to buy any supplies we need. Yes it is very expensive here but the quality is good and the service is great. I would rather spend extra money on good stuff rather to save money and buy cheap materials. They have everything you can possibly need for projects or learning tools. I finally joined the free teachers club to get coupons and i got this free cool tote. The staff is so helpful and friendly, they gave me info on free activities for the kids on the weekends and other cool tips to help me on the ideas i had. Check them out, you will be surprised. FUN!

As a middle school principal and a former teacher, I've always struggled with Lakeshore. Granted, they have some cool stuff, and prices-- while on the high side-- are not unreasonable. But me? Like many teachers, I think Harbor Freight and Home Depot are better teacher supply stores. Don't buy those two-color counters to teach integers... Get over to the Home Depot and buy a bag of nylon tile spacers. They're shaped just like a +, and you can cut them to look like - signs. Measuring cups, pipe cleaners, magnifying glasses, rulers, angle grinders, mitre saws... Ok, those last two probably don't belong In a sixth grade classroom, but save your money, be a little creative, and teach! As for Lakeshore, they have the same stuff, just packaged better, maybe a prettier color... It's one stop shopping, and it's convenient. Maybe I'm cheap. Maybe I like the excuse to go to my favorite "toy stores." Lakeshore relies on you failing to do internet research or collaborating with colleagues to find a cheaper way to acquire manipulatives and support learning. Do what you gotta do, but with a little creativity (or the ol' "beg, borrow, & steal") the little lightbulbs will glow over your kids' heads.

They pointed me in the right direction when I was looking for age appropriate toys for my son. The store itself is very organized and it's easy to get around. There were so many options of toys and activities of all ages. Half of the store was also supplies and instruments for teachers. It was so fun to explore! I got my son a piano toy, a harmonica and a drill/screw toy. He loves them all! Forewarning, prices here are a little higher than what you would find near Amazon but they do have specials and sales. Plus you're supporting local! It was seriously so fun to take my son here and shop. I can't wait to return when he gets a little older to explore more of what they offer for older kiddos!

I learned about Neely's from Gold Elite Yelper Gary I and decided to pop in since I was in the neighborhood. I found a spotless store, filled with aisle after aisle of educational games, stickers, posters, and other miscellaneous supplies that educators need. Everything was well organized and spotless. I also found a delightful host to guide me to exactly what I was looking for. And....they do laminating for a reasonable price! Street parking.

I definitely want to support and like this place more than I actually do…read more Yes, the store offers plenty for educators interested in upping the aesthetics of their curriculum and/or classroom. It leaves much to be desired in terms of customer service. I was the only one shopping and noticed it was very dark. As I roamed, I discovered an entire section with no lights. Was it closed? Was I off limits? Who was to say? I went to the counter and rang the service bell to find out. No one came. I waited a couple minutes and rang it again. No one came. A third ring finally got the Neely's employee to come and he turned on the lights with little enthusiasm. I found what I wanted (and then some) and went to make my purchases. I had to hunt down the same employee again to ring me up. Of course, his register wasn't working. I mean, that's what I assumed because he kept staring at it for several minutes without saying a word to me. I tried to engage but got little communication back and was ready to leave until, 12 minutes later, the register finally worked. I'm all about helping small business but they also gotta help themselves. I'm not writing this place off entirely because of their selection and my hope that it was just a (terrible, horrible, no good) really bad day.

Rebecca is AMAZING!…read more My high schooler is taking advantage of a program through LA Mission where she can take college classes that will count for both High School and towards an AA. But one of the books for her classes was not in stock. We spoke to Rebecca and only then realized that the purchase order for all of my daughter's books, though submitted, had not yet been received by the bookstore. Technically we should have been told, "So sorry, can't help you. Go home, wait for the P.O. to come through and then come back." But Rebecca was too good for that. She looked over the P.O. and confirmed that my daughter was a student. She then made a copy and said she'd take care of the paperwork for the three books that were in stock once the P.O. arrived and let she us take those home. She also took my name and number and called me 10 days later when the last book finally arrived. When I showed up to retrieve the book Rebecca was on the phone but recognized me, put the caller on mute for a second and directed me upstairs to the book. As I walked past her on my way down she handed me a note that helped speed up and simplify my checkout. Rebecca is absolutely amazing. She makes the bookstore and LA Mission a little bit sweeter. The world needs a lot more Rebeccas!
