The waiter was great friendly without being bother. Husband ordered the meatloaf without gravy, a salad. He said the meatloaf was good, but the salad had a big core of the lettuce . I ordered the steak without gravy mushroom. The vegetables were great, the bake potato ok, but the steak was over cooked and tuff with no flavor. I had ordered medium rare , but it was beyond medium .Probably won't be back. read more

Fist time coming here. Service was excellent, I made several changes to the meal and the server got them all right, The waffle and French toast were excellent and my omelet was full of stuff and one of the best omelets I have ever gotten at a restaurant! we all commented in the car that it was too bad we lived 30 minutes away or we'd be eating there all of the time! read more

One of life's little joys is a nice prime rib dinner. In the ruralness of southern Oregon, it's difficult to find restaurants that serve the dish. . For more than a year, I've been traveling out to theLakesbore Lodge about once a month for their Prime rib special. The difficulty has always been getting the right temperature. I order a medium rare and invariably I get either medium ( if I'm lucky) or, more likely, medium well. Usually it's not worth fighting about because the price has been pretty reasonable and you sort of assume some risk about the quality of the meal when the price is more in line with that charged by a diner than a steak house. Sadly, they've increased the price substantially - it's now $35 - and so I'm a little bit more picky about the fact that they still send out medium well when I order a medium rare.. When I pointed out that the meat was overcooked tonight, the waitress (who was very nice) cheerfully took it back, but returned with a slice that was still way overdone. I gave up and kept the plate, but with a silent vow to myself to reevaluate my need for an overcooked prime rib dinner in the future. I think it will be a long time before I return to the Lakeshore Lodge. My point is not that I need to have perfection in order to enjoy a meal, but that if they are going to charge steakhouse prices, they should be able to meet steakhouse quality and understand that customers expect what they order once they start charging $35 for a plate of meat. read more

Unexpected pleasant surprise! Came in with a party of 10 tough customers, and service was fast, food was good, prices were fair. Our waitress was hilarious and honest in her recommendations. First time here at the lodge for my wife and I's anniversary weekend get away. First of all I asked them if they could do a surprise dozen roses and a note for me to surprise my wife and they exceeded my expectations and charged me a reasonable amount to do it. That's amazing customer service and I so appreciated it and my wife was happy so bonus points there. Reasonable pricing for hotel room they are nicely updated and can't beat the view of the lake. Shower is hot and great water pressure. Beds are not bad pretty comfortable (I did bring my own pillows as I do every-time I go to a hotel my preference lol) The food was great my wife and I got the ground sirloin steak with potato's and veggies. Filled us both up and reasonably priced. Waiter was great, and food was served in a reasonable time frame. Not sure about everyone else saying they take forever, haven't seen that yet, will update for breakfast. All and all so far great service and will definitely be returning. Absolutely horrible. Paid full price for a hotel room, when all of the amenities would not available not even a person to check in. Then the room had one bed when the room my mother reserved was for two beds. The following morning I went to visit family before checkout and the housekeeper had already cleaned the room and had been in there without my knowledge and it was not even time. Mind you there was not much to clean and the extra person did not come luckily because there was not a bed for them. That mornin the restaurant was open we had the worst breakfast, way to expensive and then they charge you a fee if you pay with a card. If you like less than mediocre food with even worse service, this is the place!! We have been here twice, and the second visit we left without eating because we sat down for 20 minutes and didn't even see the waitress again. We were the only ones there! On May 4, 2025 we went to have breakfast at a favorite spot and found it was crowded and no place to sit so since we were heading to Newport for a week decided to drive to another favorite in Lakeside, We arrived at 10:15 a.m. Place wasn't overly crowded and so decided to stay. We sat down and were pleasantly greeted but then it all went down hill from there. We placed our order which was a simple Eggs and Meat etc for 2 of us. Around 10:45 we still had not been served so Iocated our waiter and asked if our order had been lost as we had been there over 30 mins already. He chose to correct me and stated we had only been there for 16 mins. I reminded him of when we came in. He stated that our breakfast was coming up next. About 10 mins later the waiter returned to our table with food we did not order, He then came back to the table and stated that something went wrong with our order and it needed to be submitted again. He offered us 20% off our meal. We asked how long that would take and he stated 10-15 mins. Now we are at 11 am and still no food. By 11:20 we had enough of sitting and waiting so I went up to manager or whomever the lady was and said we were done and not waiting any longer. I stated we would pay for our coffee but not the breakfast since we still had not received it. She stated she would talk with the waiter and then come back and talk to us. We saw this lady call the staff together and overheard they needed to submit peoples order in the order they came in. Then she walked away. As we were getting ready to leave and while still there with the manager(?) our food came out and my friend convinced me that she was hungry and it would take longer if we went somewhere else. So we stayed and ate and as we were leaving my friend went into the restroom and this same lady asked how the food was and we said so-so. She then said she was sorry of the experience we had and stated she hoped we would give them another try. At that point I stated probably not and we left. Oh and she did take the cost of our coffee off the ticket. We feel with all that we went through that this owner should have at least comped our food and ,maybe we would have considered coming back but since she really doesn't seem to understand this is not how you fix and issue, we will definitely not be back. read more

We gave the Lakeshore Lodge three chances over the last year because there are few restaurant options in Lakeside. We also like being able to take our boat to the restaurant. Yesterday, I waited for a full hour to get a very disappointing sandwich. They comped my entire bill, which was nice, but this was last time I will go there. I was sure to tip the server because it certainly wasn't his fault there was no cook in the kitchen. read more

"newly updated bar", what a joke. Hasn't been updated probably since the 70s. Don't get me started on the food. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT,eat anything that has mayo or ranch dressing, unless you want an intimate relationship with your toilet. Everything else is a roll of the dice. The service in the bar. If the blond short girl with the little pig tail balls on her head is working the whole atmosphere is tense, abusive and degrading for her customers. She demands if you are not sitting at the bar to NOT come up to the bar and order she will come to you but if you are waiting 15 minutes for her to come get your order it's normal for people to come up to the bar she will cuss and call you names like whore and the c word and to get the fu-k out of her bar I have never heard a working employee cuss as much as this person at Lake Shore Lodge. I can tell you she is bringing this business down to a bad level. The Lodge used to be happy go lucky before she came to work there. On nights she is not working the place is wonderful and fun. The burger was terrible. We also ordered the fish & chips which was fairly good. The service was terrible. We waited over an hour for our food and then couldn't eat it, even though we were starving. It was that bad. Our server came to our table three times. Once to take our order, another time to bring the food ( an hour later, and last time to drop the check off. That was it. I read all the reviews and decided to take the risk and venture into learning more about this place. I went with a group of friends who took their side by side from the dunes to the restaurant. Once we were there, the service was amazing, the host was assisting the waitress with making sure we had water, coffee and drinks. The waitress was extremely helpful because I have ultra sensitive gluten ALLERGIES. Yes my allergies will send me to the hospital. So the waitress told me there is no gluten bread, or adjustment to the menu, which I respect. People should not feel entitled to impose their business to restaurant owners. The waitress told me they make a good 4 bacon-3egg-hash brown plate that is very gluten free. I also ordered a bloody delicious Mary. It was so delicious that two of my friends decided to join me. I was grateful they accommodated a large group and served us promptly. Everyone reading this should know that small town restaurants take their time to cook their food. If you want a good delicious breakfast, this is the place to go. If you want something fast, drive yourself to a McDonalds. read more

We were the only customers on a saturday mid- morning. The waiter was very kind and efficient, taking our order timely but our order took a long time to get, despite being the only ones in the dining room. We weren't in a hurry and looked forward to the "made to order" brunch. When the plates arrived they seemed lackluster. I ordered the "Spirit On The Lake" which included a biscuit with sausage gravy, a sausage patty, 2 eggs and hash browns. My husband had the two piece French toast and chocolate milk. The gravy was tasty but mildly favorable, containing no bits of sausage that i could detect. The biscuit was fluffy and warm. I had my eggs scrambled. They were cooked correctly but had little to no seasoning. The hash browns were a compressed patty with also no seasoning, mildly warm and a little tough. The French toast was good but unremarkable. The chocolate milk was served "fancy" with swirled whip cream. The environment had a nice view of the water and a courtyard (where a wedding was being prepared.) all together, not outstanding but reasonably good. read more

My husband and I used to come here often. We haven't been in almost a year and decided to go. My husband loves the country fried steak, which it's usually always delicious. We always share a plate. This time around the steak was way small and the prices have gone way up. The ultimate went from $12.50 to $17 and we got 4 pieces of bacon and 4 pieces of sausage as aside and they were $14 for bacon and $14 for the sausage. Crazy expensive for two, our bill ended up being $76 I talk to the waiter and told him I absolutely will pay my bill but if people ask for sides of bacon or sausage he might want to tell the customer how much they are. He did comp one of the orders. But I would for sure think about coming here again. Yikes on the prices and the menu is smaller. read more

What a dump. First room was crawling with ants. No one was working the front desk so each time I needed someone I needed to search thru the attached restaurant asking employees for help. So I got moved to an ant-free room which was fine, but the whole place just seemed questionable at that point. After reading other folks reviews of the restaurant, and given the experience with the motel room, we chose to eat elsewhere. Zero stars. read more

I ordered the bacon three eggs and hash browns. The hash browns were cooked with rancid oil. You could taste that old stale oil. The bacon was great and the eggs were just how I wanted them. I was just shocked about the hash browns. read more

I was hesitant to eat here based on the previous reviews but it turns out they make a decent breakfast for a solid price! 11 bucks for this plate and more than I could finish. The service was prompt and the mimosa tasted like a mimosa! Loved the view of the lake as well. read more

Rude staff and horrible food! ZERO STARS! DO NOT RECOMMEND! We sat down in the bar for dinner and was told by the waitress she was too busy to help us and if we wanted help anytime soon we needed to go to the restaurant side. Went to the restaurant side and was completely ignored. I got up and got our own menus. Once we finally got someone to help us (they weren't busy) and take our order, our food came... It was worse than their service! Fish and chips cold and soggy. Fettuccine ... I don't even have words for how bad it tasted... Nasty! read more

I give them 2 stars for effort. We made a reservation weeks ahead of time for our group for Mothers Day brunch. They said, no problem, just have members of your group call and ask to be added to the reservation, so we have an accurate headcount. Family members tried, but were told they already have a general #. That morning, family arrived shortly before us, but were told there's no res under that name. Luckily, we got there immediately afterward, and they DID find our reservation, but still struggled to find a place for the 8 of us. They set up a table in the bar for our group. We have 2 recovering alcoholics, and a very religious matriarch in our group, so sitting in the dark bar was extremely uncomfortable. And then, during the 90 minute wait to get our food, someone started blasting honkey tonk bar music on the juke box. The poor waiter was so busy we rarely saw him and food and drinks were all set in front of the wrong person. No biggie, we just play musical plates. But, common courtesy is to wait till all members at the table are served before eating. This took a good 15-20 minutes. And, we learned they have no AC. Forecast was for 94 degrees today. Waiting an hour and a half to be fed was miserable, but the food was pretty average/ok. This tradition will definitely not continue at this restaurant. read more

We have been coming to the lakeshore lodge for soooo many years! They've always had the BEST clam chowder I've ever eaten! We found out that it was under new ownership, and so in hunting for a beautiful Pacific Northwest wedding venue for our daughter and her fiancé- this place was never even a thought! But we had been here during the Fall of 2022 and it came to mind as a possibility! After visiting several options up and down the coast, we determined that this could be the right place! We planned with Mike & Linda and they proved to be the greatest ally a bride and her mom could ever ask for! It turned out this was thee we it first wedding at this location and it was absolutely perfect in every way! A memory that we'll not ever forget! Everything was amazing! The dinner food we tried, is, at best, and being extremely generous, average "diner" food!!! Nothing "Fine" about the food! However I felt "fined" when I had to pay the bill!!! OUCH!!! They were not that busy but it took 2 hours for us to get our dinner. It wasn't until I was driving away that I realized they had forgotten to give me my salad. It was like being in the twilight zone!!!! I heard someone spreading hype about this place so I drove out and gave it a try! A big disappointment. I hope they can do better in the future. This pains me to write a review of a place I have such fond memories of. My mom, sister and aunt met my future husband here back in the 80's when it was a classy and beautiful place to go. I was excited to hear they had new owners and were trying to get it back on track from the years of neglect to the property and the decline from a good restaurant/bar to a local hangout - nothing wrong with local hangouts but there are different types of local hangouts. In all fairness - because of my sentimentality for this place - I ate there three times before posting my review. The first time I ate in the bar - walked in - was barely aknowledged by the bartender? Server? Cleaner? I waited over 10 minutes while she ignores me - walking by me getting buckets of water with cleaning stuff- performing all kinds of acts except asking me if she could get someone. I finally asked after 12 minutes of this circus if the bar was open and if it could get a menu- much to my surprise she said she was the bartender - short summary- salad was old - wilted - looked like it had frozen and then thawed and I left before having a second drink because she was now way too interested in the locals who stopped in just to chat. Second experience- decided maybe the dining room might be better - long story short - took two family members- they used the word awful - my Reuben was so burned both sides of the bread were black - no visible meat or cheese - a few strands of sauerkraut- sent it back - next one was much improved - so you have to send the first one back to get a second one that is pretty good? Why would the cook send that out and why would the server actually serve it? Third time - I'm a fool for sentimental memories and I was hoping maybe just one bad cook - this was the most disgusting - ordered the fish and chips since they claimed hand battered fresh fish- first bite I knew something was terribly off - tasted like fish that had been frozen and then thawed and left out - this is the honest truth - offered a bite to my dog - she wouldn't eat it I should note that the server and shame on me for not getting his name - was wonderful- much unlike the bartender - he apologized and said he would get me another- he said the fish does come fresh from Charleston - told him it smelled and tasted like really old frozen stuff- being raised on the coast you can't fool me- definitely didn't want a second round of fish He did offer to take it off my bill and have me order something else - I did pay for the fish - I want owners to realize I'm not trying to get a free meal - I want them to pay attention - I was self employed for decades and if you can get a reasonable - logical opinion from a customer- take heed! He did comp a beer which I appreciated because it showed a great knowledge of how to take care of a customer. Sadly enough I won't be back until they do a serious reform of the kitchen staff. read more

Had a great time at Wine Tasting. The new owners have cleaned up the bar the restaurant and have a great staff. This diamond in the rough has been polished as a fun place to go to for good food drinks and a great time at the lake. It has a nice hometown feel and you won't meet nicer people anywhere. And the Grover family has found a fun place to cook. They're great food. read more

Went to the lodge for dinner Friday 10/28/22 for their all you can eat fish and chips and their sirloin steak that is usually awesome, we'll not this time, must have changed their meat. To start off, it took the waitress forever to take our order, and it wasn't busy, she was zooming around in her short skirt gypsy Halloween costume but getting nothing done. the steak I got was over cooked, dry and had a weird texture, nothing like before. My husband got 3 tiny pieces of fish and fries. My husband was done with his fish and fries and wanted another order but the waitress was no where to be found, finally after waiting and waiting and waiting I asked the busboy who was cleaning a table if he could put in the order, he did and a little while later here comes our waitress with the basket of fish, all she did was drop it hard on the table and walk away!! Never said a word! Never asked if he wanted more fries or ask about the steak I did not eat. I think she was more interested in the bar and the Halloween party they were going to have than paying customers, we arrived for dinner at 4:55 and didn't get home until 7, ( we live 3 block away! Never got our ticket so we walked to the register and there she was just standing there with no one around, she asked if everything was ok and I proceeded to tell her No, explained the issue but all she said was she was sorry, didn't want to hear that. wanted her to do her job!
