I've stayed at this hotel twice before, which is why when my father and I had a bass fishing tournament I booked a stay. Unfortunately, my father, who is 76 years old, miscalculated the amount of pills he would need for our stay so as soon as I realized this, I asked the front desk if they could refund one night. I was told to come back the next day and speak to the supervisor. I did after our bass tournament ended, only to be told she had left for the day, and because I was now asking the day before I wished to check out I could not get a refund for one night. I realize there are rules for cancelation, and under normal circumstances I would have said no big deal. MY FATHER DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEDICATION! This wasn't a normal circumstance and the fact they were so nonchalant about taking my money and making me feel like I was in the wrong was absolute garbage. I will never stay there again, very poor customer service on their part. read more

The prime rib is my go to order, I just cannot get enough if it. The service is amazing their all so nice and some of them like to joke around a lot. the ambiance is very good, the dark lighting with some music playing Quietly in the background. The restaurant is not that loud but not super quiet but there is a long wait before you get your food. read more

A diamond in the rough. Technically 3.5 stars. Lakeshore Lodge is a bit of throwback to when times were simple. The idyllic setting right on the lake conjure up feelings of nostalgia and fun times that were once had before this pandemic took hold of the world and stopped any and all fun. We were lucky to be staying with some friends on the lake, so the lodge was a quick boat ride away. In the middle of summer, the restaurant was deserted. Thankfully the bar area was where the "action" was, only not so much. There were a few patrons there, but not what was expected on a typical summer evening. Let's face it, bar fare is bar fare. Food you order at a bar after a few beers or cocktails. Stick to what's fried and you can't go wrong. read more

Literally got so sick going here. Took forever to get my food, we waited for about 20 minutes just to get our order taken and when my food got to me it was gross and not what I ordered. I did not bother saying anything, I had already waited over an hour just to eat. read more

On two different occasions we have tried to eat and grab a beer at the lounge at Lakeshore Lodge. On both occasions, we were not acknowledged even after waiting 20 to 30 minutes. There were only two other people in the lounge on this last occasion. read more

This was the worst night I've ever spent in a motel. I can't even say the word sleep because we didn't get any! Barking dogs, karaoke at a ridiculously loud volume until 12 AM, paper thin walls that allow you to hear everything anyone is doing in the rooms around you. Everything! Ordered Bloody Mary while gambling waiting for them to clear tables. Was there for over an hour and never got to order our food. Finally got a table and sat for 20 minutes before server even spoke to us. Of course that was while we were actively leaving. 1 star is generous, 1 is closer to the number of sleep hours I got staying there. Bar open until early morning hours, karaoke until after midnight, loud music. Lodge is also pet friendly, so loud karaoke all night makes the dogs bark all night! Worst nights sleep ever, never again. Staff could have cared less. I just moved to the lake and was very excited to try the lodge. It boasts a 5-10 min boat ride from my house. Upon walking in I saw the saddest salad bar I have ever seen. The place was nearly empty, so the one server/ host did ok. I ordered fish and chips, my guest had a Reuben and my daughter had chicken tenders and fries. Everything tasted frozen to fried. The Rueben was alright, but we all got fries and they were awful. They seemed like frozen unseasoned crinkle fries. The prices were reasonable, the decor awful. I was hoping for some delicious, local faire. I hear they just switched management so I will give it a try again, I am hoping they will make improvements. read more

She literally said "we rather you don't sit out there cus the having to come in and out " then when she saw i turned around and started to leave she was but it's ok its slow now, but I was no I wouldn't want to inconvenience you from doing your job ... took my business somewhere else. While on a trip north to coastal Oregon we met friends and family at this establishment and had lunch. I was told the clam chowder was "killer" and it was! Huge pieces of clams sweet and fresh and the creamiest broth I've eaten. I also enjoyed a fabulous cheeseburger, the "California Burger" with green chili's on it. Where to begin. I'm sure not many people will travel to Lakeside OR and Yelp many businesses there....that's just how small the town is. But I can't go without writing this review in case someone decides they must stay at this hotel. I first stayed here three years ago. My grandma lives down the street and her place just isn't big enough for all the family, so my sister and I stayed here. My sister had stayed here previously a couple times and had mentioned that this place isn't so clean. As soon as we entered our room, "hair check" was enacted. We stared in the bathroom and found stray dark hairs on the toilet and in the shower (This was 3 years ago.) This recent visit, we entered our room and "hair check" commenced. We counted 10, yes 10 stray black hairs in the bathtub but none on the toilet this time. My sister chose her bed, pulled back the covers and found some type of debris, crumbs, I'm not sure quite what it was. I went to the lodge to get new sheets for her and waited about 15 minutes before someone came out. There was a sign at the desk saying to see the bartender. The bartender came out and I advised her of the situation with the sheets. She disappeared, never to return. Half hour later my sister came looking for me. We waited another ten minutes or so and then someone finally entered from outside with sheets. We got back to the room and found they had given us two fitted sheets only. Oh well. THEN my Aunt, Uncle and Cousin came the next night and they found, used bar soap left in the bathtub, shampoo and conditioner bottles left from the previous quests and a spider in my cousins bed. Needless to say, I think this Lodge skipped out on hiring housekeepers to save money. I'd rent a house instead of staying at the Lodge next time. YUCK! The ONLY good thing about the Lodge is the view when you wake up in the morning of the lake outside your window. So beautiful. read more

Wasn't the man hole cover sized steak, but was tasty and the right size for the wife and I, we ordered the same breakfast. I would definitely have this again and will be back to try something else. The quality of the food has so diminished in the past year. New owners are not customer oriented and the waitress was not as responsive as she could be. Dinner was not as advertised. Last time they had a temporary cook that could only cook certain things but they offered a full menu. This time they cooked shawls ordered but the food was not fresh. No one made any blue cheese dressing because it was their last night open. Seafood was borderline and had absolutely no flavor. Was supposed to cod stuffed with shrimp and Asiago cheese but there was no cheese inside. A small portion of cheese on top. The corn was dark yellow and wrinkled beyond belief. Terrible, just outright terrible. When you walk in the building the carpets are filthy there's clutter all around the front desk. The Waitresses are not very friendly, unless they know that you're going to be tipping them.. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, it was terrible, the sauce was like milk poured over warm noodles with a little bit of Parmesan cheese and more minced garlic than I've ever had in one sitting... the garlic was so bad we couldn't even eat it, and for $15, we won't be going back. read more

This place has new owners. We didn't know the old owners. However the food was delecious, with generous portions. We went for breakfast. There were four of us. The only reason not a five star is the wait was quite long. Short handed. Our waitress was a sweetheart. We will definitely be back. Great view of the lake out front. I loved my stay at Lakeshore Lodge. It was delightful, gorgeous, and a terrific outgoing friendly staff. The rooms were newly renovated and very clean. I had stayed in one of the pet friendly rooms. The dog walk outside was very enjoyable for me and my pup. The private balcony with the out door patio was perfect for relaxing and just enjoying the beautiful views. The lodge restaurant was delicious. Every meal. This place is quite a hidden gem, just perfect for getting away and relaxing and taking in the beauty of Oregon. I was a little worried because of the low cost of the rooms. But when I walked in it was a huge room, with a side room almost as big as regular hotel room that had the sink and a huge bathroom. The room was very clean. There was a sliding glass door in the rear that gave a great view of the lake. Through the sliding door was a concrete patio with picnic table. From there you could walk down to the lake. Room had a refrigerator and microwave oven, along with the big screen tv. Bed was comfortable with a very firm mattress, no "motel sag." Sheets and pillow cases were crisp and clean. As was the whole room. Friendly staff, and GREAT food. I guess only thing keeping it from 5 stars is wifi was spotting at best ( maybe because Lakeside is fairly remote?), and no free breakfast ( but great breakfast in the lodge restaurant, and I guess I'd rather they not raise the room rate $10 to provide a free continental breakfast). This has to be the worst place to eat in Coos County, a place not known for its great restaurants. I've been twice. The first time, I was just able to swallow the "food", but the second time I ordered a burger. How hard can THAT be, right? The burger patty was pretty close to black in color, and less than half the diameter of the aged bun. Still, being very hungry, I was determined to eat SOMETHING. I did swallow the first bite but was not happy for having done so. A complaint to the waitress yielded no change, and no apparent understanding of what the problem was. This told me my bad "burger" was no anomaly, but probably standard fare for this F-rated place to eat (it cannot be labeled a "restaurant"). Perhaps needless to say, although it is the closest "eating place" to where I live, I will not be returning. Oh, a word about the service: that, too, doesn't get much worse anywhere. "Perhaps they were just busy," you may be thinking? There was ONE other couple in the whole place. I like to end reviews with something positive, but nothing positive is applicable. Perhaps a warning of "STAY AWAY" is the best I can do for the reader. Wait a sec! I see there are two 5-star ratings! I was skeptical after seeing the other review on this place but hubby had read some reviews elsewhere and decided, this was 'the place'. Vintage hotel sits right on the lake. We opted for an upstairs room. All rooms have a balcony, fridge, microwave. Room WAS dated but very clean. No stray hairs lol.. Check in was easy, everyone was nice. Adjacent restaraunt and bar. We had breakfast and dinner there.. It was good food. Location to the John Dellenback trail and Spinreel ATV rentals is superb. Hot shower, clean room, comfy bed, great Internet and coffee. I think it's a winner. I only wish I had brought my kayak for the easy lake access. Gorgeous! read more

I called three days ahead to get reservations for 28 people.. When we all arrived, nothing had been set up and they were not prepared for us at all. The poor waitress, Sandy, had no help whatsoever! We had to put together our table set-up on our own. And, poor Sandi had no help at all until just the last 15 minutes, or so. Sandi did an excellent job trying to get through with all the ordering and delivering of the food. It took so long to get our food, plus two people did not get their food until everyone else had finished their dinner. The food was mostly good except for a couple of people getting their food cold. Plus, the person handling the bar couldn't keep up either, and at one time when several of us went in to get a drink, they were actually sitting down at a table with customers, chatting. The restaurant gets a 'F' for the handling of our reservation. The bar staff gets an 'F' for their lack of professionalism. The cook gets a 'D-' for missing 2 dinners and having a couple of dinners served cold. Sandi gets an A plus for the way she handled this extremely large group!!!!! Horrible, demeaning, unprofessional service. I reserved a two rooms for $376 for two nights; when I arrived, I was informed I had to pay $484. When I showed the front desk clerk my reservation I printed out, he took it from me, crumpled it up, and threw it away, saying, "fine, you don't get a room." Then turned to the couple behind us, telling them that two rooms will be open for them in a moment. Everytime we pass through the area this is the place for karaoke. Very accurate and fair rotation and great sound, and fabulous host (Rich). We just stayed here and had a great experience. The beds were comfy, room was spacious and the toilet and bathtub are separated from sink. I like that in a room. They do take dogs, so we had our Jack Russell with us and got a first floor room. Sliding glass door out to grass and lake view was great. I will say that room 16 does not have a screen on it which would have been nicer. Wifi must have gotten better than previous reviews because we had no problem with it. Grocery store and laundromat right next door. Overall stay was really nice! We also went for dinner and everything great they say about the clam chowder is right. Very tasty!! i had clam strips, fries and coleslaw... there is also a salad bar...we all enjoyed our dinner!!! Will stay and eat here again! read more

Wow. Where do i start? New owners of two months so maybe there will be an improvement down the road. We did not eat in the restaurant so my review regards the room. The only thing supplied in bathroom is soap and towels. Towel were large and not stiff at all. The pillows were the size of padded mail envelopes. They did bring two additionl ones. All six equaled 2 small ones. No kleenix in room. No phone in room. No local info in room. No TV guide in room. Everyone has different needs for mattresses. Mine was fine. 1 key needed to be remade every time it was used. There is a refrig and microwave. There is no air. There is no screen on sliding door so could not leave open. They did bring a fan for last night. Outlets were pretty plentiful but no USB ports. There is a large dresser if you are here for dunes or beach. I'm not sure which is the cherry on the top, the gigantic spider on floor this morning or the fire alarm going off every couple of hrs over night. Mostly it shut off after 1 to 2 minutes but 5 am bought about 4 min one. Ceilings are probably 10 ft high. Desk person wanted to know if we could reach it to pull it down. NO. Bring a ladder? NO. Staff was always nice and responsive. A little language barrier but got thru it. At about $90 per night, i will be asking for refund due to limited sleep from alarm. Would never recommend. read more
