I tried to buy a 2021 Keystone Carbon 5th wheel toy hauler from Lakeshore RV this summer. It did not go well: Lakeshore defaulted on the deal in the midst of the purchase transaction, after keeping my wife and me waiting for 3 hours without explanation or apology. This despite having a signed Purchase Agreement and deposit with them. Background: We're easy customers, well-qualified, and the super low-hassle type. We did our homework, and found the exact model we wanted in stock at Lakeshore (Keystone Carbon 358), contacted the dealer, agreed on a price and trade-in, and got approved for financing via the dealer. We had planned to trade in our beloved 2008 Keystone Laredo - the trade-in number was not great, but good enough to make the deal worthwhile to have the new unit for the 2nd half of the 2021 camping season, and it would save us the bother of having to do a private sale. Lakeshore was also not able to help us with our hitch - we needed a new adapter plate for our wonderful Pullrite Superglide. Reason: "We don't do anything with hitches." Strange for a volume RV seller. After a long search in finding the right hitch plate (since I also am not a hitch specialist or RV dealer), we were ready to sign and do the deal. We cleaned out our Laredo 5th wheel, brought it to Lakeshore at the time of our appointment, and met our salesman. He "had to take care of few things" and asked us to pull our trailer around to the service department. After three hours in the waiting room, he asked me to step outside to speak privately (why not in his office?). - "They don't want to take your trailer in trade." Me: "What? Why? Are you saying I mis-represented it?" - "No, not at all. My guys just don't want it. We can still sell you the new one at full price (without your trade). I'm very sorry." What "guys?" The salesman was literally the only person who ever spoke to us. No one was around to give us an explanation, and there was no effort to re-negotiate the trade (which I probably would have agreed to). This unexpected ending happened after we were largely ignored for three hours. We sat in the waiting room, looking all very happy-new-customer-like, but no one came over to us to greet us, offer us coffee, or explain the wait, other than the occasional run-by by our salesguy telling us "I'm working on it...". For us, Lakeshore RV was a strange, almost empty and very odd-feeling place. We walked in and out of our new coach several times, and no one took any time to say hi or even make eye contact with the smiling couple clearly anticipating their fun new purchase. Dealing with Lakeshore RV was not a good experience for us. So we had a 300-mile drive (towing our current RV), an entire day wasted, and 3 hours sitting in their waiting room (without being told why we had to wait) when were literally the only customers in the place. My guess is they never wanted our unit, and hoped that "new buyer fever" would overcome us and we would do the deal for the full price. They sold us a trailer knowing that it was messed up from the beginning. He had it parked in the back and I asked him why it was in the back and he lied to me saying that it was because it was sold before but the paperwork supposedly fell through. The black tank flush doesn't work at all, the floor was crimped and bubbled up, the nail holes weren't even wiped down after they put in filler, The vent in the bathroom is crooked and you can stick your hand in between the outside panel in the inside panel. So they attempted to fix the floor by cutting some out and then caulking it in and it looks and feels horrible. So when I told him about all the other things that were wrong he told me don't bring it back to them take it to somebody else! read more

Traded in a travel trailer for a new one. My trade in had a section of the awning that had a branch scrape it while parking a few years back. It pealed some of the awning fabric back but was not torn all the way thru. It was patched several years ago and we never had any issues with it. Regardless, I was told it would need to be replaced in order for Lakeshore to resell the camper. No problem. I can understand that. The cost was just shy of $800! When we dropped off our trade in and picked up our new trailer I opted to pay cash (via a debit card) for the awning replacement and a new hitch. Over 2 months later and a month and a half after my trade in was placed up for sale I was at the dealership for service. Walking the lot I see that our old camper is still for sale. Sadly, I also see that even though it's been for sale for a month and a half already the awning was not replaced! I brought this to the attention of my salesman and he immediately said that not only was he aware of this but he brought it to "their" attention a couple weeks prior. So, this was not something that was overlooked. Even if that were the case it was definitely a choice after being made aware of the situation by my salesmen. Our old unit was sold, or atleast labeled as so online the day after I brought this up. Perhaps it was taken out of inventory in order to replace the awning. Regardless, the actions taken by placing this unit up for sale without the repair complete and leaving the unit for sale after being made aware of the situation by my salesmen speak volumes. The actions of the dealership show full intent to sell the unit as is even though I paid to have the awning replaced as a condition of my transaction. To date I have not received an explanation, apology or refund from the dealership. Attempts to reach them via the better business bureau have been ignored as well. Buyers beware! When financing our rv they got us our loan thru Bank of the West. It has been a nightmare! 4 months later and it still isn't resolved. I would say no one should go thru Lakeshore RV finance department and have them set up a loan with them. Bank of the West has Terrible customer service, their website is full of errors and their next to impossible to get in touch with. I wish i could give them a lesser rating than 1! We bought a brand new 2021 grey wolf toy hauler earlier this year. The awning ripped after two months of use, the floor bubbled, the paneling bubbled and pulled away from the wall studs, the back door dead bolt doesn't align with the hole and now the slide out will not go out. My wife called and said the best they could do is have us haul it to them (2.5hrs away) and they'd look at it but if couldn't fix it on the spot that we would have to tow it back and bring it back again when parts arrived. Their lot is HUGE but will not let you leave it there while parts are ordered. Also were unwilling to even facetime to see what the slide was doing when the button was pushed. Salesman was Mike, I would not recommend buying from this dealership. They also have friends of their employees go on and give them " 5 star" reviews to disguise the 1 star ratings for the actual service they provide, which is none! I just recently purchased a 5th wheel. It has no quality problems other then the usual cheap faucets the manufacture puts in. Steve our sales person was great. Always got back to me and answered all my questions. The process went smooth. To buy an RV from 931 miles away requires the buyer to be familiar with RVs and know what you want. You must be flexible when your getting your camper delivered from that far away. Once you get it, ANY reputable dealer can honor the warranty. You will save money. read more

I took the time to visit this dealer looking for information on the different RVs, pros and cons on fifth wheel, trailer, motor home classes. Big impressive lobby. After standing around for some time with no one noticing me I had to ask to see someone. A female sales person showed up as if she was being bothered. She escorded me to her small cubicle on the back wall. I told her my interest and wanted to know pros and cons along with price ranges. She said OK and started to ask how I plan to pay. What price range I was looking for and wanted me to fill out a credit application. I just got up, walked out and drove down the street less than a mile to Muskegon RV and was welcomed with a welcoming smile and everything I wanted. I will do business with them. read more

Have been trying to cancel extended warranty since 4/19. Emailed required info to a GMAIL account (seems professional and secure). Was told on 4/19 refund would be processed in a day or two. Called 5/3 because still no refund, no reply to my email confirming receipt. Sent more info to a GMAIL account. Was told refund would be processed as soon as that info was received. Still no refund. Called, told no one in until Monday and only one person could handle, not even a manager. Asked to speak with a manager, was told "he's not in". When asked when manager would be in was told "I don't know ". Not sure how a business runs when you operate on gmail accounts, don't respond to customers, and do not know when managers will be in on a Saturday, likely the busiest day of week in the rv business. Poor customer service at best. Unfortunately, dealer is the only one who can cancel warranty and refund, and they choose to ignore. read more

Do not buy from this place if you plan on having your RV delivered! Our camper was delivered with extensive water damage, enough to probably total it. Thank goodness the finance department is a disaster because we missed a signature on the loan paperwork. That was our saving grace!! When they attempted to "refund" our deposit, they ran it through as another charge. We are now out $8000 and there is still no money in our account 5 days later. Not sure why the salesman (Mark Simmons) is handing the financials after hours, but the fact that our debit card number is on file free for anyone to use a month after the deposit was taken is also very concerning. Strongly advise anyone looking to purchase, please run in the other direction. Their prices are low for a reason! read more

The customer service is horrible. I order a 5th wheel toy hauler 8 months ago for $56k. I arraigned for it to be shipped through them to Gridley Ca. Upon delivery the trailer had significant damage. The flat screen tv mount was ripped from the wall and the tv was shattered on the floor. The table was broken and the wrong color. I made several attemps to get this resolved. I was asked to take picture of the damage and sent them in. I was passed around for months to different people. I was sent 3 tables that did not fit my trailer at all. With every person I was passed to I ran into more problems. For the tv I was sent a remote control. Again was asked to take new pictures of the items that needed repair. I took over 100 picture of every angle. Still to this day they have not resolved this issue and now when I call they say they are done dealing with it. read more

I'm not used to being ignored, but being actively ignored is unacceptable. 10 people who appeared to be employed walked past me, not one said hello, including the kid at the front desk. When I pointed it out to her, she shrugged as if to say"what did you expect?" Well, when I show up to a business with 150k to spend, a "welcome, how may I assist you" is the bare minimum. Sales person was attentive through the entire process. Was talked into buying the extended warranty plan...well good luck getting anything fixed. Once you leave the lot you're on your own! Been back and fourth between our sales person and the service department, like pulling teeth to even get a call back...only to be told "we can't help you, call Forest River!!!!" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! We haven't even made the first payment yet and the furnace and fireplace are not working. Now I'm stuck finding my own repair person and coming out of pocket for an extra expense that the dealership should be handling. I don't think my expectations are unreasonable and this whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. We just purchased a 2021 Fuzion from Lakeshore RV. We went there because we had bought our 2015 Cougar there back in 2014 and had good service. The sale went thru great but when we tried to schedule pickup time they were busy so since we were coming from 7 hours away and planning on staying at a campground near by for 2 days we had it delivered to the campground. The salesman told me he would come to the campground and go over the camper with us. Well we got into town a little early and Wil let us come to see the camper before it was ready to be delivered. We looked at the camper and I specifically told him to please have it cleaned because my husband is picky on that. He said he would. He also told us to ask delivery guy questions on the camper because he used to be the service manager at Lakeshore. We have no problem with that - Jack was a great guy and told us a lot of stuff. Our problem is that Will never came to go over the camper with us at all and it was dirty. There were metal shavings from the build and sawdust on the floor. The 1/2 bath sink wouldn't work and when I texted Will he said to tear it apart. We did and the filter was dirty. After we cleaned it the sink worked but it still had the winterized pink chemicals in it! It was obvious the camper was not thoroughly prepped. The black & gray tank levers were left half open too. Then when we got home we noticed there was no cover on the fresh water tank. We complained to Will and Lakeshore about not prepping the camper but charging us $495 and they basically said too bad. I am appalled!! So not only did we get a dirty camper (i understand some dirt but when we received our camper in 2015 it was clean!!) but we received no walk through from the salesman. We are relying on Youtube and Fuzion facebook group to learn about the onboard generator and other things they we aren't used too. The only good thing out of this besides the camper I love is that Jack the delivery guy has been the MOST helpful!! I would NOT recommend buying anything from them until they get there service back up to where it used to be. We are very disappointed. read more

This is my actual experience. If the dealership actually responds to this review, they will likely say that they have no record of me as they seem to do when they receive reviews less than 5 stars. Almost 2 months ago I contacted the dealership for a brand new 2020 RV. I received a quote and agreed to purchase the RV. I was going to have my own shippers deliver the RV to me. The dealership stated they would not recommend having someone other than their own shippers handle the deliver as their drivers "do this all the time" and could "have it as soon as this weekend". Although it was going to be more expensive, I chose to have Lakeshore RV ship it to me. I had the manager and salespeople calling me it seemed like hourly to finalize the sale. The final price ended up being more than the quoted amount with dealer-added expenses. 4 weeks later a delivery date was finally set. I was told it took that long to get it scheduled - not the next weekend as stated. The delivery date came and passed without any word from the delivery driver stating he would be late. I finally called to see what the problem was. As it turns out, the driver wasn't going to be arriving for another 5 days. On top the that, the driver states "I've never shipped an RV before, this is my first time. I had to borrow a truck. The brakes went out and I've had to disconnect this RV so many times." So much for an experienced driver. The RV did finally arrive, but damaged. I was not going to accept delivery of the unit due to the condition, but the dealership stated they would "take care of everything" and assured it would be handled. It's been weeks now. They did send out a couple parts, but they were the wrong ones. That was over a week ago. I haven't received any calls from the manager and keep being berated by the salesperson, stating that I should be contacting the manufacturer in order to address the "warranty" issues of the damaged RV. I've spent at least 10 hours trying to get my brand new 2020 RV fixed without success. I have not received any calls from the manager or anyone else at the dealership. Clearly they focus mearly on getting the sale. The buyer is on their own after that. So if you want to save some money on the initial purchase and then spend that money back and then some after the sale, buy from this dealership. I would strongly recommend you look for a dealership that will take care of their customers after the sale - this is not the place. Also, unless you want to have your RV damaged during transport, don't use their company for delivery. In summary, it's been almost 2 months since purchase of my 2020 RV. I have still not had the RV repaired. I have not received a call from the manager stating it will be taken care of as promised on delivery date. I am very unhappy about my experience with Lakeshore RV Center. read more

We were an easy sale. We bought our camper after about an hours worth of work by the sales team. But that is were the service ended We did not receive the hooks to attach our table to the wall. I have called at LEAST 6 times and have just been given the go around. "Oh yeah. We will put those in the mail right away!" 8 months later and we still can't use the table in our camper. It's a simple stupid little thing and they just can't come through. Also we did not receive our hitch back that we had on our vehicle. I called twice about it. They didn't even look. "We also put those in the storage area of the camper". Well it's not there. So graduations to the guy in the shop who collects those and sells them. The very least they could have done is gone and checked. If you want ANY kind of service after your sale, go someplace else!! Seriously. Wish we would have read the reviews and researched more before we purchased a travel trailer from this place. BRAND NEW camper with one problem after another. First time using it this July 4th weekend 2020, broke kitchen faucet which we found the week before took in to get replaced, lakeshore calms they have to "see if the manufacturer will approve to fix it" ????. Got to our destination, hooked the water up, toilet was broke and flooded the whole camper. Called Lakeshore RV to get help. Got in touch with someone. "We'll call you back" nothing. All weekend, no water. We will be calling again on Monday. But based on the reviews, I don't have much faith. I can't wait to find out what other awesome things we find are broken. When I was in there I witnessed a superior berate and demean a young employee in front of another customer. It was VERY unprofessional and uncalled for out in the public area. This was disrespectful toward the customer that was standing there and you could tell they were very uncomfortable as this occurred. Apparently they are more concerned with flaunting their titles and feeding their own egos in making an immediate case of right or wrong, than they are in taking care of their customers. No service after the sale. I bought my $30K 2019 Keystone Outback 26RBS Travel Trailer from them on October 25, 2019 based on price. They are great at taking your money but if you need help after the sale, good luck! The staff I dealt with prior to signing went well, but afterwards not so well.After leaving the dealership, defects began to surface in the unit itself. Many were cosmetic, but the furnace not working was the major issue because the weather turned bad and temperatures dropped to the low 30's. We heated the unit with a space heater to stay warm. We were told to call a dealership for repair but scheduling an appointment was 4-6 weeks out due to the time of the year. We have had the unit now for 3 weeks, and the unit has so many defects that we requested Keystone to buy it back. As that did not happen, we are at the mercy of the local dealership here in Katy,Texas to fix the problems whenever they can schedule us in for an appointment. John went above and beyond to ensure a perfect fit for our young family. He always took our calls, questions, and was very honest in all our transactions. There is some great knowledge at Lakeshore RV. John has been at this place forever and Steve is great to work with as well. Hard to beat the prices and they seem to only carry quality brands. They don't deal in Motorhomes or RV Rentals but they do offer delivery of RVs nationwide and even to Canada and beyond. Would definitely recommend. read more

I cannot comment on the sales center services but the lady I worked with in the rental service dept was very un-professional. We incurred unexpected and in my opinion unfair fees (ie.. awning usage & generator use- additional charges). Additionally, I booked (2) 30foot RV's but when we arrived for pick up we were given smaller units- around 15'-20' RV's. I called to discuss the sizing conflict and was told the 30' RV's were sold and that we got what they could find. I asked why we were not alerted prior to pick-up and was told they did not know the RV's would sell. I would have expected a courtesy call, because I was very clear when renting that we need large RV's- we used RV's as office space and needed the longer mid-section. I asked for a pricing credit but was told no, rental price would stay the same. Overall I was very unsatisfied and would not recommend rental services. We wound up sort of stranded in the area after "losing" our Snap-L Pins for our Equalizer Sway Control Hitch. I called around town (Muskegon, MI) to find one place that could order the parts, one place that had only one pin in stock ~ the third phone call was the charm. A very helpful parts department employee requested that I send a photo of the part to her cell phone to be certain that she had exactly what we were looking for, as there were many different pins available. She graciously returned communication that she, indeed, had what we were searching for!! She held them for us and we were able to get back on the road in no time!! I called customer service with a missing part on my new 2013 Heartland Northtrail. I sent an email as requested with photos, no response. I called again to see if they had information and was told they would contact the factory about the missing part. I ask to be kept informed as to their findings. This is almost a month ago, no response from customer service. I also wish I had purchased the unit locally. The price on the rv is good. Service is absolutely horrible. We've owned many campers and a few motor homes. You expect things to not be perfect , make a list, take in for service. At Lakeshore they don't get it right. We've made 8 trips for the same issues. You need to call and babysit. Never done on time. Never a consistent service manager. Last May, we went and looked at a 2021 Forest River Wildwood 27RKS. We talked to Will and walked thru the trailer. We loved the huge windows and the outdoor kitchen. We came to an agreeable price, with trade in, and purchased the trailer. We asked for an awning to be installed over the slideout, for the trailer to be cleaned before delivery (metal shavings and sawdust EVERYWHERE!), and paid for delivery to our campsite in Ludington. At the end of May, Will called and said he could have the trailer delivered before Memorial Day! Yea! So we emptied out our old trailer and waited. After awhile Will called and said that the transport had broken down and he would be able to deliver. Needless to say, I was very upset. He said he'd make it work. The guy who did finally deliver it, took one look at our site, said he couldn't put it in there, dropped the trailer in the road and left! The campground owner put the trailer in the spot. Then as we're showing off our new trailer to our friends, we realized that there was no outdoor kitchen! We had been given the wrong trailer! Called Will, told him everything! Asked for the correct trailer. He said he couldn't do that! I was exhausted by this time and just wanted it done. Then one rainy day-we were sitting at the kitchen table with the windows open (we have an awning so it's ok-right) when water just poured into the trailer! The wrong size awning had been installed! We also were never given keys to the trailer! Called Will again-"I'll take care of it". 2 weeks later, we finally got keys. There are so many more things that Will said or did, I could go on and on. The previous reviewer said she cannot comment on the sales department. Well, I can, and will. I will also comment on the service department and everyone we came into contact with at Lakeshore RV. The short version is that starting with Mike White, our salesman, everything was smooth as silk. Buying an RV over the internet and the phone can be challenging. Mike was very accommodating, answering our myriad of questions in a timely fashion. The photos he sent of the travel trailer we purchased were clear,accurate and very helpful. We had done a lot of research on the rig we were looking for so there were not too many surprises. The price for our unit made the 1300 mile trip from Texas to Michigan well worth it. On the day we were to pick up the rig Mike handed us off to our service person, another man named Mike-who also could not be more willing to please and be helpful. All the service people were that way. There was yet another Mike (!) a Dave and others who all helped make our long distance pick up a great experience. Do not buy an RV here and expect anything but horrible customer service after the purchase. Unwilling to work with warranty claims and total run around pointing fingers. Horrible experience and would NEVER use this business again and would caution all to ensure that customer service after the sale is not important to you before purchasing here. read more

Had an appointment for service on my trailer after waiting six weeks to get in. I show up at my assigned time after driving three hours and the first thing the service writer that is in a t-shirt and flip flops says "we tried to get a hold of you to cancel, we are double and triple booked." I said I thought you guys fix same day, was told when I made the appointment, he said how do we know what parts we need. After writing down my issues I ask if they when are they getting it in and what time can I pick it up. He replies three or four days and it may be done at the end of the week, what!! I said thought you fix same day, he said is it under warranty, I reply extended warranty, he says owe then three or four days?? Why would that make a difference?? I decide to just take the trailer and the written says " we will put you in the front of the line", I said forget it and then he says "it will be done tomorrow" I said how do you know when you said you didn't know what parts I'll need? Unbelievable to say the least. After eating breakfast we go back to pick it up and it is sitting in the middle of the parking lot, I hooked up and left and no one ever questioned me. After our trailer showed up at the dealership the salesman called me and said it was in. I asked how does it looks, his reply "like any other trailer".... When picking it up the trailer in 18' it was dirty, inside and out. When we were buying they said how it gets detailed in and out, NOT TRUE! I asked them if they were going to wash it and they said "I guess we can". After picking it up it took almost three months and five calls to the dealership to get my license plate, unreal! Needless to say by local and do not buy from Lakeshore no matter where you live, even down the street! read more
