Bad food that violates health codes and an unhelpful/uncaring staff. My family and I have been going to this place for 18 years. We have seen it through many owners and sadly we have decided to never come back. The food is ok at best most times we come here, but today was our breaking point with this place. I have been a vegetarian for 5 years now, so when I go to a diner I usually order the eggs benedict with no Canadian bacon. When I did this today I was brought my meal with bacon strips on it. I told her that I didn't want any meat, and my dad threw in that I was a vegetarian. She took it back and came back with a "new" one maybe three minutes later. I ate a bit and then saw that there were still small pieces of bacon on it. Meaning that they just removed the large strips and reserved it (I am fairly sure that is a health code violation). They took it back and I got a new one, with two completely burnt English muffins. Our waitress told us that the eggs benedict would be removed from our bill (It wasn't). Besides that, my dad got a fried chicken dish that was more batter than chicken, and my sister got a Texan burger that was chewy with an overcooked egg. They both had onion rings that were almost impossible to chew through. Also, the lady hosting came to ask how everything was, when my dad told her what happen it was apparent that she didn't care and was slowly walking away from our table the whole time. When it came time to pay they had charged us for my meal and when my dad complained, the lady hosting said she couldn't do anything because she was not a manger. Why she didn't get someone who could help us is beyond me. We will never eat here again. read more

I take my mother to the Lakeside Diner just about every weekend for lunch. Both of us enjoy the 30 minute trip to the lovely Ringwood area, and never fail to be satisfied with our experiences at Chris's diner on Ringwood Avenue. It is always clean, comfortable, and the staff are friendly and hardworking. Whatever we order to eat is always gratifying, which is a compliment to those others behind the scenes we never see. Chris is always ensuring that his guests are well cared for by personally visiting tables to ask if all is well. I would also add that the diner is nicely decorated for the holidays, has a full menu, adequate seating and parking, and clean restrooms. Overall, Chris and his staff deserve 5 stars. read more

I've lived in town for 5 years and never had the chance to stop in because it's closed Saturday/ Sunday. Totally understand the importance of work/ life balance. I've just never seen any eatery closed the entire weekend. The breakfast sandwich was good, the potatoes were flavorless. The below picture cost $13.85 as takeout. I thought that was a little high for what I got.
