I was very excited that the McDonalds closed and that there was going to be a Mexican Restaurant. I first thought, "Another Mexican joint in Jackson Heights??!" BUT I went today and it is so different from anything else in this neighborhood. First the decor. It's still not finished as they opened this past Saturday but it looks ranchy but modern. I hope they keep it minimalistic instead of putting a ton of stuff on the walls. They updated the facade so that it's floor to ceiling windows and I think it looks nice. The service was exceptional! I was assisted by Issa, who was very proud and passionate about this new restaurant. She took the time to tell me about the place. The food is all fresh and local. The eggs and beef come from a farm upstate. They get their smoked salmon from Banner in Brooklyn. They are planning to offer a Market Veggie Omelette on Tuesdays made from what the chefs find at the nearby Elmhurst Farmers Market. Back to the service. Issa helped me right away and was very patient & helpful while I was a being indecisive. The food came out in good timing and was very tasty. It's very simply prepared food that lets the quality of the ingredients speak for itself. It's not overly seasoned or greasy. Beef was perfectly marinated and cooked so it was easy to cut with a butter knife. I felt really good after eating. Perfect portion of food for the price. There is no other restaurant like this in the neighborhood and it's nice to have healthy options. They are going to expand their menu to include more taco variations. I could see this as a great brunch place in addition to all other meals. read more

I like the food here. Service was good also. They're still waiting on their liquor license so I could not have a margarita with my enchiladas but the food was good anyway. I had the mole sauce chicken enchiladas and the mole sauce was very good. I like how they have a selection of american meals also like meatloaf with mashed potatoes. The presentation is what gets 2 stars after that everything went downhill. These have to be the most flavorless, overcooked, burnt al pastor tacos ever. You can see from 2nd pic all the burnt dried pork i picked out. Maybe the chef was having an off day because it took long enough to arrive. I disnt see ir taste any pineapple and it had an entire bushel of cilantro , very overpowering for the palate indeed. So $12 for 3 tacos and a whopping $2.50 for a CAN of soda. Guess these are standard prices for NYC. I even left a $5 tip because the place was nice but unfortunately the food was lacking. I wanted to try the steak tacos but i did not want to ingest any more crunchy dried meat for the evening. I have ordered delivery a bunch of times and eaten in twice. I've enjoyed everything I've tried here: kale salad, chicken chimichangas, huevos rancheros, strawberry nutella pancakes, sauteed broccoli side, steak tacos, veggie quesadillas. Had an excellent breakfast (chilaquiles and blueberry pancakes--both of which are better than anyplace I've been in the neighborhood). What a nice little gem! This place serves some authentic Mexican fare. We had the chicken quesadilla, and heuvos rancheros. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious. I really liked the brown spicy sauce that came with our meal. The restaurant is pretty spacious, and very clean. Service was excellent, and prices were very good. I've been 3 times and all visits were great. Service was friendly and fast. The food is made from high quality ingredients -- you can definitely tell. The first time I had fish tacos and the other two times I was there for breakfast and sampled items such as huevos racheros and pancakes. It was early when we got there to ring in the first day of school so it was pretty empty. The staff is so attentive and sweet, that their service alone is enough to return. We ordered the chips and guacamole. It was fine. It didn't rock our world but it was fresh. Chips on the other hand was meh. We ordered the Cemita Burger and the area and frite. They were both cooked to the perfect temp (med rare). The steak was good and the chimichurri sauce was good. The burger looked promising, I thought it was pretty bland. With how loaded it was, I was a little disappointed at how bland it was. I will definitely going to give them another try or 2 and figure out what they're great at and what they're not. Came here with the whole family on a Saturday morning. Super excited to have a neighborhood restaurant replace McDonalds. Huevo Rancheros and Chilaquiles were delicious especially with the smoky tangy Morita sauce. We nearly licked the plates clean! Kids ordered off the menu - quesadillas & fries (which the more health Conscious could sub for veggies) and pancakes served with bananas. Huge portions for the kids plates for affordable $6 each. We also got the tortilla soup which was pretty good. Go there and support a new local spot where standard American diner fare and Mexican classics are done well! read more

The service is fantastic too--they're friendly, don't rush you, but don't forget you either. I love their special soups (they had a butternut squash soup this fall that I still think about--lol). Went here for the first time this week after passing by it many times on the way home from the subway. Don't let the sparse atmosphere fool you, this place has some excellent food. We had the Cemita burger, chicken quesadilla, and roosevelt street corn. The burger was surprisingly thick and juicy compared to most restaurant burgers and is covered with a really interesting and delicious combo of flavors. The quesadilla is what you'd except and comes with some really good guac, and the street corn was basically perfect. Definitely going back here. My only suggestion to the owners would be to spruce up the place a bit and maybe look into replacing the panel ceiling. read more
