Coach miles always makes laugh and enjoy my workout, coach Hunter is the best and I definitely push myself the hardest in her classes. The front desk staff are great too. Ryan and Bella are so cool and friendly and they always have something nice to say and are chatty. Charlie recently helped me out big time with some billing issues. Can't say better things about this gym. It's worth it and has been something I look forward to now during my hectic week.

4 months in, and this is the fittest I've been since high school PE. One day, my daughter told me…read moreshe had to run a mile in her PE class and I asked what her mile time was, and she said 8:08. Pretty good! Then I thought to myself, "wow, has it really been 19 years since I ran a mile?" Yes it was, so I then looked for workout classes around the area that fit into my schedule, and that's where Orangetheory Lafayette / Lamorinda came in! It was a breeze signing up for my first class (free!) and instructions were clear- come to class 30 mins early, fill out paperwork, get a walk through of the studio, and brief chat with the coach re the workout style and how to use the treadmill and rower. Took that first class and felt pretty good, so I took the plunge and signed up. Amazing variety of cardio and strength. Despite not doing consistent exercise over the past couple decades, I've already noticed a lot of improvements after doing Orangetheory workouts. My endurance has gotten a lot better since day 1, and I can carry a most grocery shopping bags within one trip! Most classes are a mix between the treadmill, rower, and floor (body weight and exercises with weights), and each consecutive day is different. I love choosing whether I want to run or power walk on the treads, go a bit heavier or lighter with the weights, etc., depending on how my body feels that day. The coaches will say what to do, and you do that at your speed. I really need that, cause otherwise, I wouldn't be getting anything done! Another selling point for me was the data. If you use their heart rate monitor, you get a report of where your heart rate was during the duration of class, how much distance you've accumulated, and so much more. All that data per workout on the app is intriguing. Thanks to everyone here, especially the amazing coaches and team for motivating me!

I was very unhappy with my health. My goal at that point was to some day do a triathlon. Some day . My last review was 6 mos into working through personal training. Since then I switched over to group training. I do at least one class a week. Well, I did achieve my triathlon goal. In August 2015 I did my first sprint triathlon. In October my first Olympic distance tri. In December my first half marathon. Then this past October I completed a half Ironman! Over this time I have not had any significant injuries. I have consistently been able to set higher goals and meet them. These changes happened because of the culture of fitness I was introduced to by PMPT. We've always focused on form and discipline. It's never been about higher weight, more reps, or any degree of competition. I learned the value of slow, incremental gains. Let me also preface that this is all completely new to me. I had never been an endurance athlete nor a gym head. My time with PMPT represents the most significant period of fitness in my life. Ive never done anything like this before and I know I would not have if PMPT hadn't been part of the shift in my culture. In March my first Marathon awaits. Then the full Ironman calls...someday. I know that PMPT will be part of getting me across the finish line.

The trainers are super approachable, friendly and excited about fitness. I love all the outdoor activities they offer such as the stair group, trail running and foundation. It's nice to have that community feel outside the gym. I have been going to see Rich for years and he keeps getting better and better. Classes usually start with a warm up, dynamic stretches, some cardio and or foundation. That takes about 7 minutes and the remainder of the class is dedicated to the workout, usually intervals, but he does switch it up quite a bit. If you are looking for longer periods of cardio I would try one of the classes offered on the weekends, such as the stair group....that's a killer workout. I love the variety of classes ranging from mobility and foundation to intense interval training and strength. This is a small gym and there no showers that are offered at the larger gyms, but it's not intimidating, they offer reasonable prices and everyone from the trainers to the members are super friendly. Give it a try!!

Holy moly, what an amazing facility and workout! FitLab has been around for several months, but…read moreI've only heard about it recently through ClassPass. With zero ratings / new on ClassPass, I decided to sign up to try it out anyways, and it's one of the best decisions I've made this year. Coincidently enough, one of my former fave OTF coach worked out here, so more of a reason to try FitLab! I signed up for their Hybrid Engine class (HYDOX / DEKA training, etc.) for Monday 6AM, but I wanted to see the facility before a full on class so I wouldn't feel as lost, so I then signed up for "open gym" the day prior. Got there a few mins before it started, and I met Coach/Trainer Larry. He was superb! Larry gave us a nice tour around the facility and described the various machines and stations. He also showed us the amenities- bar, sauna, cold plunge. Amazing! He gave us a nice workout that day as well, focusing on DEKA and we utilized a lot of the stuff- rowing machine, air bike, dumbbells, ski erg, weighted balls, ski pulls/pushes, and more. We also did some body weighted exercises and stretches, as well as some outdoor run up and down the hill. After the workout, he showed us some other stations, more focused on Spartan races. Wow, so strong and inspirational! I had an amazing intro, and was looking forward to the actual class the next morning. Next morning quickly approached, and I was ready for the workout! It was the Hybrid Engine workout, and we did a warmup, then we were divided into groups and were told which stations to rotate around. Nice HIIT style workout focusing on items re HYROX and DEKA. We did some of the machines, some farmer carries, RAM burpees, med ball throws, sandbags, and more. Great intro to a lot of the exercises, and I really enjoyed it. Ended the workout with some dynamic stretching, and I tried the sauna and cold plunge for the first time in my life. Full facilities- locker room, showers, toilets, etc. Shared, which is fine by me. Looking forward to signing up for more classes!

Ya'll this place will get you in shape in no time. I tried the Lagree class. The instructor was so nice and allowed me to switch over from the Climb x Boot Camp class when I showed up. I was also able to purchase a pair of grippy socks onsite for about $10. The music was good, the lingo will take sometime to learn, but I appreciated the instructor coaching me and helping to position me in the right position, and gave me words of encouragement. There was only 7-8 ppl in the class so I wonder what it's like when it's full. I appreciated the work out bc it challenged me to push myself just a bit more. I had a good sweat and worked my upper body to the point where my arms were going to give out on me, half way through but I kept pushing just a little more. I appreciated that there was no pushy sales person trying to get me to purchase a membership. Now I can give it sometime and a proper think. Everyone was pleasant and professional from the staff to the members in the room. Nicolette was subbing from Danville and she was a great instructor. Provided me with a quick history about how Lagree was established. I definitely hope to come back and try the climber/boot camp class.

Returning to the Megaformer even after hundreds of classes is still a VERY humbling experience. The slow and intentional movements of the Lagree method have left me with Bambi legs on multiple occasions. On days I need more cardio, I take the Climb X Bootcamp classes, which also give me an effective full-body strength workout. CB Fit is always constantly adding, modifying, and evolving with the times. Whether they're adding new equipment, upgrading to the Lagree 2.0 format, or incorporating client feedback, their constant commitment to improvement is why I'll definitely keep showing up.

Immediately 2 more employees that were there stand up and said we need to do this now! While talking , several other gym members check in after me and most didn't have a profile picture either but we're not asked to do one nor they were stopped , as I was , to enter the facility. I personally knew one of the persons who checked in while I was talking with the 3 employees at the front desk, and she didn't have a profile picture I saw it on one of the front desk computers. Out of nowhere, another guy showed up , I am not sure he was an employee or not, asking to show them my ID , so they can identify me. I said ok, I can show you my ID. I felt like I am a criminal, passing LAX security guards. When I show my Driver License , an employee took a picture of my driver license without asking me. He was only supposed to verify my identity not take a picture of my driver license! Many other members checked in at the gym , while we were talking and none of them that didn't have a picture on their account was stopped or asked for a picture, only me, I was singled out! Forma , you should train better your employees to be more polite and respectful towards the members who pay their salaries! And think twice before you hire disrespectful teenagers who think they own the company! Very disappointing experience. The way Forma Gym employees treated me appears extremely selective--some people are repeatedly singled out and bothered over minor issues, while others are given a free pass for doing the exact same things. Rules should be applied consistently and fairly to everyone, not enforced only against particular people. Professionalism means treating every customer equally and respectfully. Management should take a closer look at how these situations are handled, because this kind of inconsistent treatment creates a very unfair and uncomfortable environment.
