We needed some commercial electrical services done so with a quick google search and decent reviews…read morewe gave JAJ a shot. The dispatcher was super nice and made an appointment next day. Next day arrives and the ETA they gave came and went I called she explained what the issue was and a tech came out within the hour. Long story short he did a great job and had no issues. Fast forward we had another request we needed done in our server room, called them since they did a great job the 1st time. The made an appt with an ETA of 9am-10am. I get a call around 9:45 saying tech will be late due to a previous call and if they want us to get another tech which would take an hour but the original tech shouldn't take long. I said if he's finishing up then we will stick with the original tech. 12-12:30pm rolls around and I call checking the status of the tech, dispatch tried to figure out and says he's coming. I said at this point it was faster getting a new tech. We Close around 5pm. Tech doesn't come until 2:30, 4-5hours past the original appt. We show him what needs to be done then says oh I need to get my tools we ask how long will that take since you were already 4hrs late he said he would need another 1-2hrs. We said forget it, let's reschedule to that following Monday. As soon as the tech (3-3:15) leaves I call to solidify the appt for Monday because we had a cable tech coming Tuesday. Conveniently no one from their dispatch office picks up. So I left a voicemail asking for someone to call back in regards to booking an appt. I had a feeling something funny was going to happen as I never got a call back, I called Saturday mid morning, Sunday mid morning sent an email and voicemail, still nothing at this point. Monday rolls around and I get a text message saying we are scheduled for Tuesday. How are we scheduled for Tuesday when I was trying to contact you since Friday afternoon? I called yet again and still nothing. So I sent a pretty stern text which I got a reply due to employee spouse tragic accident pretty much made everything chaotic. Which still doesn't explain why you cannot respond when your hours online list your open over the weekend as well. I had my colleague call and what do you know they picked up. He explains the frustration and she assures we can get a tech Tuesday between 6:30-7:30am. We asked to ensure they would be there. I didn't get a confirmation text until 11pm then Tuesday rolls around a I get an email from my colleague saying they never showed up. No call no nothing. We just went with another company who came out within the hour and finished as guess who was pulling up JAJ it was 8:30am. I told the tech you all were scheduled at set time and it's 8:30-8:45am. What was the issue? He was quiet, I asked again where was the miscommunication because regardless you still showed up 1-2hrs late. We said we didn't need their services. I will never use them again.

ABSOLUTE FIVE STAR! I am happy to say that I received excellent service from Yesser of Dora…read moreElectric. I had a HUGE job which I was worried would be costly. I had a brand new electric panel installed, and I even had the outside meter and main line MOVED to an entirely new area of my home. Used to be smack dab in the front, ugh! Now it's well hidden on the side of my house! MORE THAN THAT, Yesser dealt with all permits and working with Dominion electric to facilitate the approvals which all went completely seamlessly and extremely fast. Immediately after the large job was done I had several other small projects that I would only trust with Yesser. So he did a bunch of other things for me for such a good a price. Costs: Cost was extremely reasonable to the point where I know I would have paid much more. I feel like with bigger companies you have to cover their advertising budget ha ha! Skill: All I can say is that I was very impressed with the work. I know very little about electric, but the neatness alone with how things were laid out and done showed me that Yesser is a perfectionist. I checked out his credentials. Master Electrician. Fully licensed and certified in DC, MD, VA. Super nice guy, always explaining what he's doing, loves a friendly chat! :)

Bottom Line Up Front: Yesser is unethical, unprofessional, lacks the ability to perform quality…read morework in a reasonable time (104 days to finish a 2 day job), does not understand customer / business relationships, and is the messiest person we've had working in our home. He may be wonderful at changing out a lightbulb but he is incapable of performing large-scale work. I would never recommend him for any work and plan to file a complaint with the County based on our experience with him. Found Dora Electric on Yelp. We needed our two panel boxes combined to one, leaving open breaker spots for future electrical needs. We also needed four (4) dedicated lines run down the hall to the basement wet bar. Tuesday, April 26, 2016 (day hired): Yesser quoted to get the job done in two days for $3,000 and guaranteed his work would pass county inspection. Thursday, May 19, 2016 (23 days since hired): Yesser showed up around 11:00am but didn't start any work. Friday, May 20, 2016 (24 days since hired): Yesser had the power off all afternoon and it wasn't restored until around 10:00pm. He wasn't sure when he'd come back to continue/finish the job. Monday, May 23, 2016 (27 days since hired): My wife contacted Yesser to ask when he was coming again. His response was "maybe today but maybe not." Tuesday, May 24, 2016 (28 days since hired): Yesser said he was busy this week. I expressed concern due to family coming to town on Saturday. He agreed to finish the job on Friday, May 27. Friday, May 27, 2016 (31 days since hired): Yesser finished installing the four (4) dedicated outlets and installed the two (2) grounding rods. He left 13 holes in the drywall and said he doesn't patch the holes. He then asked me to pay him $4,700 instead of the $3,000 we agreed on. I paid him $500 (total $2,000 to date) and said I would not pay any the final $1,000 until the Fairfax County inspection passed. Yesser requested to schedule the final inspection after Ramadan. We agreed to support him even though only the inspection remained. Friday, July 15, 2016 (80 days since hired): Yesser didn't show for the inspection and his work failed the inspection. Yesser cut a wire where he cut a hole in the drywall and blamed us for doing it. He also blamed us for the other holes in the wall yet he was the only contractor hired. Yesser agreed to return that day and fix the failures but never showed. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 (85 days since hired): Yesser stopped by for 30 min then left for the day. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 (91 days since hired): Yesser arrived (late) to repair the issues failing the inspection. He asked to be paid $750 but was reminded of our agreement to pay after the final inspection. Yesser berated my wife, called her a liar and claimed we were treating him harshly because he is an immigrant. My wife stated we just wanted the work done so we could pay him and have our home back. Yesser said he scheduled an inspection for the following morning. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 (92 days since hired): Yesser said the inspection was cancelled and rescheduled for Friday. Friday, July 29, 2016 (94 days since hired): Yesser said the inspection was cancelled and asked to do it the following week. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 (98 days since hired): My wife contacted the Fairfax County Inspector's office and scheduled the inspection for Friday. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 (99 days since hired): My wife told Yesser via text the inspection was scheduled for Friday. He was not happy and said to have a check ready for him. Friday, August 5, 2016 (101 days since hired): The County Inspector cancelled the inspection. We found out that Yesser never scheduled any inspections other than the one that failed. In short, Yesser had been lying about scheduling and the cancellation of inspections. Monday, August 8, 2016 (104 days since hired): Inspector showed up and passed the work pending fixing two open wires Yesser cut (but blamed us for cutting). Yesser wanted the $1,000 paid in cash. We refused and said our bank would issue a check delivered to his home address. He yelled at my wife and said he was to be paid $4,700 instead of $3,000 and accused us of being liars. He continued his rant until my wife began to video the conversation. He stopped yelling and drove off our property, leaving his tools in our driveway.

If you want high-end consultation and options, and decor, go elsewhere. If things go wrong working with Dave, you will find him unethical, irresponsible, and unprofessional. Dave neglected to mention our options regarding the color of the lights and installed 'industry standard' warm yellow lights. When I realized that I wanted a brighter, cooler light, I contacted Dave to order samples to try out different colors. He wanted to charge us for samples and to replace the lighting if we wanted to swap it out. We counted on Dave to advise us regarding residential lighting, and he failed at the job. Why the one star? Because he introduced us to Dominion Lighting, who did a good job installing the lights over 3 days, and was never intrusive.

When approached, he eagerly welcomed the challenge of modernizing our 55 year old basement's fluorescent lighting. Dave inquired as to our typical activity and physical movement patterns, within the confines of the basement living space. Dave studied the exact dimensions and furniture layout of the room. He analyzed the potential shadow effects along with the dramatic lighting impact available through the use of strategically installed "wash lights." After weighing all of our preferences and concerns, Dave educated us as to the improved aesthetics and higher efficiency that could be provided by strategically installed LED recessed overhead lights, controlled by state-of-the-art dimmers. Once satisfied and in accord with his design suggestions, David coordinated the best price purchase of all new, high quality, lighting fixtures. Dave also personally oversaw the hiring and detailed instruction of skilled electricians and installers. Throughout the entire project. David proved to be highly communicative, courteous and efficient. The results are stunning! Dave Konstantin transformed our rather dowdy basement room into our perfectly illuminated, elegant family room. All accomplished at a reasonable price. I strongly recommend to any and all potential customers the uniquely skilled services of Dave Konstantin Lighting Design. Fred V.
